  • Is it workplace appropriate to wear a silk camisole under a sweater?

I love the look of a lacy camisole that peeks out an inch or two under another shirt, and I've been dying to sew some silk camisoles. Would that be appropriate in a business casual environment, or would it look like I didn't get dressed fully and left my underwear showing?

  • Do these sound like the actions of a cheater?

I'm dating a guy who seems like a nice guy, but I'm a little naive. I'm 22 and this is my first real experience dating and I'm fairly new on the singles/dating scene in my small town, so I'm probably an easy mark.

When we're together he's very attentive, and he's constantly telling me how I'm the only one he's seeing and how he's only interested in me, and assuring me that I'm the only one (even though I've never suggested to him that I think he could be cheating). On the other hand, unless I text/call first, I won't hear from him for 4+ days, and when I do it's never to ask how I'm doing, how my day was, or anything about me (or is this just selfish of me?). I'm also concerned because of something his kid said to me. We had been officially dating for about 2 months, hanging out for 3, when I was at his house one day and after he stepped out his pre-school age kid came up to me and asked if I could keep a secret. When I said yes the kid told me that "dad has a girlfriend," and then reminded me to keep it a secret. It seems odd to me that the kid would want to keep this a secret given that the only girlfriend my boyfriend should have is me.

Am I being paranoid or do y'all think there's something to this?

  • Cooking lamb steaks and meal ideas?

I have lamb top round that I will be cooking tonight. I was going to broil the lamb and then slice it on top of some pasta with roasted garlic and onion marinara, and have some mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, broccoli, and baby potatoes) on the side.

Does this sound like it will be good, or does it sound like a disaster?

Also, how done should I make the steaks? I don't like a lot of pink, but should there be a little pink or no pink?

  • Numbness after being hit in face?

A few hours ago my horse panicked and accidentally whacked me in the face with her head from about my eyebrow to my chin. Nothing felt or looked broken compared to the other side of my face when I felt it right after she did it, so I didn't go to the doctor. I have a pretty spectacular looking black eye with some swelling, but I assumed that would happen the moment she hit me. I do, however, have some numbness in my upper and lower lip now. Its not extreme numbness, it feels like it does when the Novocaine begins to wear off after you've gotten a filling at the dentist.

Is this common, or could this be a sign I broke/fractured something.

  • what program opens .rar files?

I'm trying to open a .rar video file, but it won't open through iTunes or Windows Media Player. Is there a program I can download to play it, or a way I can convert the file type?

  • Are martinis an acquired taste?

I've heard a lot about martinis, and since I like gin, I figured I would like martinis, but I made one yesterday, and it wasn't that great. I don't know if I had the right olives, but that shouldn't make too much difference, right? Now I've got gin and dry vermouth sitting around and no idea what to use them for.

  • What type of cinch to use?

What type of cinch (material and style) do y'all prefer and why?

I just got a new 2 year old and my cinch isn't going to fit her, so I'm in the market. I've used the Toklat cool back style (http://www.smithbrothers.com/toklat-cool-back-west... and liked how it breathed, but it was a pain to cinch up since the fuzzy stuff would get caught up in my latigo. I also have a Classic Equine soft touch (http://www.smithbrothers.com/the-classic-soft-touc... and while I like how easy it is to clean, horses seem to get really hot underneath it.

Also, I feel a bit silly for asking this, but how do you measure what size to get? Mine came with my saddles and are both 30" cinches, but since my rigging hangs quite low (my 30" cinch fit the 16hh, 1700lb draft horse I was riding with room to spare) I know they're not going to fit my new filly.

  • What to wear for a NATRC ride?

I'm going to be doing a NATRC ride in May (hopefully) and I'm wondering what I should wear. I'll be riding in a western saddle, if that makes any difference. I'm not sure about riding in jeans, since it will probably be hot, so I was thinking about getting a pair of boot cut breeches to wear, but I don't now if they'd protect my legs enough.

Do I have to wear boots, or is it like endurance riding where you can wear tennis shoes, or should I try and get a pair of riding tennis shoes?

Any suggestions on what I should bring on the ride (types of food, gatorade?, things for my horse)? I'll be asking the people running the ride these same questions, but I thought I'd broaden my sources and as here as well.

  • Knee pain and instability?

When I was 12 (I'm 21 now) I started having knee pain, but the doctor couldn't find anything wrong, and it went away. Aside from when I tried to start jogging 2 years ago, it has only hurt every once in a while. Well now I'm in a fairly active degree program (Equine science) and I was fine for the first month and a half, but now its started hurting again. I was just as active, and doing as much riding as I am now before starting class, so I don't think that's what caused my knee pain.

Its not a shooting or stabbing pain, and I think I would have noticed if I tore something, but it aches and feels very laterally unstable. I also notice it aches more on the cold days than the warm days. Should I just take advil and see if the pain goes away? If I wear a knee brace will that just make my knee more unstable when I'm not wearing the brace?

  • Bosal fit for horse with narrow nose bone?

I would like to start riding my horse in a bosal, but I have a question about fit. The bosal I have is a good length for him (2 fingers under his chin with the mecate tied on), and seems to fit well on his cheeks (touching but no pressure), but I'm not sure the nose button fits right. He has a bit of a roman nose and it is fairly narrow so on each side of his nose bone I can fit two fingers between his nose and the bosal. The bosal I have is fairly flat across the nose button, so should I look for one with a sharper curve or is that space okay?

  • USEF/ASHA Permited Saddles?

I've recently begun riding a Saddlebred mare with the intent to show her, but I've never shown saddleseat before, and therefore don't own a lane fox/cutback saddle. Since I don't own this mare, and am unsure how she will do in competitions (she is very green!), and which classes she will do well in, I'd like to avoid buying a new saddle (as I am on a tight budget as a college student). I do intend for either myself or the mare's owner to buy a lane fox/cutback saddle eventually, but I'm not sure if that will happen before the small shows start running.

The USEF rules say that for Park Pleasure and Show Pleasure any english saddle may be used, and in Country English Pleasure any english saddle except forward-seat saddles may be used. Does this mean that I could use my dressage or huntseat saddles for Park Pleasure and Show Pleasure, and my dressage saddle for Country English Pleasure?

Over the years I have collected quite a few saddles. I have a deep seat dessage saddle; a close contact, flatter seat dressage saddle without knee rolls; and a close contact courbette jumping saddle without knee rolls. Which of these saddles would be best?

Also, in which classes can I show sidesaddle, or would I have to register for special sidesaddle classes?

    Thanks for you help!
