  • Matt Chapter 25 vs "Faith Alone"?

Naked, and you covered me: sick, and you visited me: I was in prison, and you came to me. "Then shall the just answer him, saying: Lord, when did we see thee hungry, and fed thee; thirsty, and gave thee drink? And when did we see thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and covered thee? Or when did we see thee sick or in prison, and came to thee? And the king answering, shall say to them: Amen I say to you, as long as you did it to one of these my least brethren, you did it to me."

How are any of these tasks possible just by "Faith Alone"?

  • Constantine Why do Protestants...?

Falsely claim that Constantine founded a Church?

This well used prot propaganda came from the Decretals which were forgeries.

Sylvester was the Pope in Constantine's day. Constantine was the Emperor as Tiberas was in the days of Christ so he never has a say regarding the Church. As emperor he stopped the persicution of Christianity.

  • Was Mary free from sin?

    Yes.

In the OT the Ark of the Covenant was used to carry God's word.

Is not Jesus the Word made flesh, as mentioned in Genesis 1, and John 1?

Mary is the Ark of the second covenant whose womb carried the Word of God.

As before, no devout Jew would desecrate the Ark as it was considered sacred, and Joseph was devout.

One flaw in the kj is that they use the phrase "highly favoured" which is incorrect. The original in Greek was "Full of Grace"

Luke 1:28. The phrase "full of grace" is a translation of the Greek word kecharitomene.

Kecharitomene is a perfect passive participle of charitoo, meaning "to fill or endow with grace." Since this term is in the perfect tense, it indicates that Mary was graced in the past but with continuing effects in the present. Also, this is a parallel to Judith 13:18 where it says God guided Mary from Satan.

Not only was Jesus fortold in the OT, but so was his Mother.

There are four prophecies regarding the Blessed Virgin within the old Testament.

    Genesis 3:15, Isaias 7:1-17, Micheas 5:2-3, and Jeremias 31:22.

Now look at Genesis chapter 3.

[14] And the Lord God said to the serpent: Because thou hast done this thing, thou art cursed among all cattle, and beasts of the earth: upon thy breast shalt thou go, and earth shalt thou eat all the days of thy life. [15] I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

Gen 3:15 speaks of Mary being at "enmities with Satan".If she sinned there would be no enmity. Notice that only two people are fortold as being without sin. God would not be born from a womb tarnished by sin as it would be going outside his nature.

This is why we know that Mary was born without sin. God has no equals, and he even warned Satan that Mary would be his defeat through the birth of Jesus Christ.

The only way to be at "emnities" with satan is to be without sin (state of grace).

If you know of any others feel free to say?.

  • Protestants...Why do you reject Apostolic Succession found within scripture?

"Where does the Bible say the apostles passed on their authority through a succession, and how did Peter replace Judas if there was no aposolic succession?"

Acts 14:23 They appointed presbyters (priests) for them in each church, also 1 Tim 5:19-22; Titus 1:5 episcopacy (bishops) Acts 1:15-26; 2 Tim 2:2; Tit 1:5 shows that the priests and bishops have an unbroken succession.

Ephesians 2:19-20 - "The Church is built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets

Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners; but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and the domestics of God, Built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone"

Ephesians 4:11-12 - "That some should be apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers

And he gave some apostles, and some prophets, and other some evangelists, and other some pastors and doctors, For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ"

Acts 1:23-26 - Matthias is chosen to replace Judas.

Acts 9:26-30 - Paul is approved by the Apostles.

Acts 14:14 - Barnabas is also called an apostle.

Titus 1:5 - Titus performs the duties of an apostle.

1 Timothy 1:3-7 - Timothy is instructed to exercise the authority of an apostle

1 Timothy 3:1-7 - Qualifications for bishops (successors to the apostles)

1 Timothy 4:14 - The office of bishop was conferred upon Timothy by the laying on of hands

"Neglect not the grace that is in thee, which was given thee by prophesy, with imposition of the hands of the priesthood."

Jesus chose Peter as his chief steward by giving him the keys to the kingdom. If you look at Isaiah 22:22, kings in the Old Testament appointed a chief steward to serve under them in a position of great authority to rule over the inhabitants of the kingdom. Jesus quotes almost verbatim from this passage in Isaiah, and so it is clear what he has in mind. He is raising Peter up as a father figure to the household of faith (Is. 22:21), to lead them and guide the flock (John 21:15-17). This authority of the prime minister under the king was passed on from one man to another down through the ages by the giving of the keys, which were worn on the shoulder as a sign of authority. In the same way, the authority of Peter has been passed down for 2000 years by means of the papacy.

    (1) Tertullian (c. AD 197) speaks of Peter apart from Paul as ordaining Clement as his episcopal successor (De Praescrip Haer 32).

    (2) The Poem Against Marcion (c. 200 AD) states how "Peter bid Linus to take his place and sit on the chair whereon he himself had sat" (III, 80). The word "chair" (cathedra) in ecclesiastical language always means one's episcopal throne (i.e. the bishop's chair).

    (3) Caius of Rome (214 AD) calls Pope Victor the thirteenth bishop of Rome after Peter (Euseb HE V, 28).

    (4) Hippolytus (225 AD) counts Peter as the first Bishop of Rome (Dict Christian Biog I, 577).

    (5) Cyprian (in 250) speaks of Rome as "the place of Peter" (Ep ad Anton), and as "the Chair of Peter" (Ep ad Pope Cornelius).

    (6) Firmilian (257) speaks of Pope Stephen's claim to the "succession of Peter" and to the "Chair of Peter" (Ep ad Cyprian).

    (7) Eusebius (314) says that Peter was "the bishop of Rome for twenty-five years" (Chron an 44), and calls Linus "first after Peter to obtain the episcopate" (Chron an 66). He also says that Victor was "the thirteenth bishop of Rome after Peter" (HE III, 4).

    (8) The Council of Sardica "honors the memory of the Apostle Peter" in granting Pope Julius I the right to judge cases involving other episcopal sees under imperial Roman law (Sardica Canon IV, and Ep ad Pope Julius).

    (9) Athanasius (340's) calls Rome the "Apostolic Throne" -- a reference to the Apostle Peter as the first bishop to occupy that throne (Hist Arian ad Monarch 35).

    (10) Optatus (370) says that the episcopal chair of Rome was first established by Peter, "in which chair sat Peter himself." He also says how "Peter first filled the pre-eminent chair," which "is the first of the marks of the Church." (Schism Donat II, 2 and II, 3).

    (11) Pope Damasus (370) speaks of the "Apostolic chair" in which "the holy Apostle sitting, taught his successors how to guide the helm of the Church" (Ep ix ad Synod, Orient ap Theodoret V, 10). Damasus also states how "The first See is that of Peter the Apostle, that of the Roman church" and says how Rome received primacy not by the conciliar decisions of the other churches, but from the evangelic voice of the Lord, when He says, "Thou art Peter..." (Decree of Damasus 382).

    (12) Ambrose (c. 390) speaks of Rome as "Peter's chair" and the Roman church w

And for those protestants who say "liturgy isnt Biblical"...Guess what?

The word Greek used for "ministry" in the Bible is "leitourgia", which is where we get our English word "liturgy"."...so when it says "ministry", its referring to liturgy.

Now you have learned what we do believe in, you can now stop with the ignorant false accusations.

  • Protestants...Where did you get the misconception that Catholics worship Mary before God?

The Blessed Mother of Christ is venerated as the highest of saints. The saints cheer us on (Hebrews 11-12) and intercede for us before the throne (Rev. 5:8). They are our role models and our mentors, teaching by the example of how they lived, serving God.

"And Mary said: My soul doth magnify the Lord. And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. Because he hath regarded the humility of his handmaid; for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed." Luke 1:46 -

Jesus "was descended from David according to the flesh" Rom. 1:3.

Since Mary is Jesus’ mother, it must be concluded that she is also the Mother of God.

If Mary is the mother of Jesus, and Jesus is God, then Mary is the Mother of God. There is no way out of this logical syllogism, the valid form recognized by classical theologicians since before the time of Christ. So we DO agree with you that Mary was saved by God, and she admits it in Luke chapter 1.

JESUS IS GOD. Do you agree?

Read the OT to see that the king’s mother ruled as queen, not his wife as with kings David, and Solomon who had 700 wives.

A king could only have one mother. This is why we associate Mary as Queen of Heaven.

Co-redemtrix - "Co" comes from the Latin word ''cu.m'' meaning with'' therefore, ''co- redemptrix'' means woman with the redeemer.

The Blessed Virgin Mary had a unique but subordinate role to Jesus in salvation.

We also know from scripture that those in Heaven do pray for us, and that Jesus did listen to the requests of his Mother as he did when he turned water into wine.

To deny that the Saints pray for us is to deny scripture.

1 Corinthians 12:13 - "We were all baptized into one body"

Romans 12:5 - We are one body and individually members of one another

Colossians 1:18 - Christ is the head of the body

Romans 8:35-39 - Death cannot separate us from Christ (or the rest of the body either)

1 Corinthians 12:26 - If one suffers all suffer

Galatians 6:2 - We are to bear one another's burdens

James 5:16 - We are to pray for one another

James 5:16 - The prayer of the righteous has great power

Luke 15:7 - Those in heaven care for us

Revelation 4:8 - Those in heaven pray constantly

Matthew 18:10 - The angels pray for us

Revelation 5:8 - The angels and saints present our prayers to God

Revelation 8:3-4 - The angels add their prayers to ours and present them to God

Tobit 12:12 - An angel presented Tobit and Sarah's prayer to God

Scripture does not lie or contradict itself.

"The last time we hear from Mary in the Bible she is praying WITH the disciples, NOT being prayed TO BY the disciples (Acts 1:14)."

"Holy Mary Mother of God, PRAY FOR US SINNERS".(Why would a deity be asked to pray?)

Rev 8:3 and 5:8 speaks of saints praying for us, and the Mother of Christ is the highest of Saints so we ask her to add her prayers to ours.

As the Mother of Christ she is worthy of respect but we worhip God through the Trinity only.

The Nicene Creed is a profession of what we believe, and it is ALL FROM SCRIPTURE.

There are 12 articles within the Nicene Creed defining the dogmas of our faith in the following order:

Article 1 - God the Father.

    Articles 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 - The Son of God, our Lord Jesus Christ

    Article 8 – The Church

    Article 10 – Holy Baptism

Article 11 – The Resurrection of the dead.

Article 12 – The Second Coming, or Judgment Day.

  • Evolution (Hypothetically)...How could mankind as a species improve?

Is the human body not perfect for the varied scope of environments that man inhabits already, and could any change be a double edged sword?

For example, if mankind developed far sight like a hawk this could detract from our ability to focus on intricate tasks that we need to do close up.

Increased strength would be unlikely with progress making life easier, and somewhat lackadaisical.

A new limb or appendage...who would want one?

A longer lifespan would fail as the world population is rapidly increasing so food shortages, wars etc would almost be eventful when the pot started to boil over.

So what would improve the quality of the human being?

Please be realistic. Flying, teleportation, and other xmen type powers are not.

1 Timothy 3:15 - The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth

Acts 2:42 - Church followed apostolic teaching

2 Peter 1:20 - Scripture is not a matter of ones own interpretation

2 Peter 3:16 - The ignorant and unstable twist Scripture to their own destruction

Proverbs 3:5 - Do not rely on your own insight

    Traditions

2 Thessalonians 2:15 - Believers commanded to hold fast to Sacred Tradition

2 Thessalonians 3:6 - Shun those not living according to Sacred Tradition

1 Corinthians 11:2 - Corinthians commended for maintaining the traditions handed down to them

Romans 16:17 - Avoid those who are in opposition to the doctrine which you have been taught

    The One True Church.

Matthew 16:18 - Jesus established and protects His Church

Matthew 28:20 - Jesus promises to be with His Church always

John 16:13 - The Holy Spirit guides the Church into all truth

1 Timothy 3:15 - The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth

Matthew 18:17-18 - If someone refuses to listen to the Church cast him out

Matthew 28:18-20 - The Churches authority is Jesus' authority.

1 John 4:6 - Anyone who knows God listens to the Church

Luke 10:16 - He who rejects the Church rejects Christ

Matthew 16:19 - The Church has power to legislate

Acts 15:28 - Decisions of the Church are decisions of the Holy Spirit

Acts 15:6-29 - Apostles and elders settle disputes authoritatively through councils

Acts 16:4 - People are to observe the decisions of the Apostles and elders

Acts 1:15-26 - The Apostles choose successors

Titus 1:5 - Bishops appoint presbyters (priests)

1 Peter 5:5 - Be subject to the elders

Hebrews 13:17 - "Obey your leaders and submit to them"

John 10:16 - The Church must be one

Ephesians 4:4-5 - There is one body, one Lord, one faith and one baptism

Romans 16:17-18 - Avoid those who create dissensions

1 Corinthians 1:10 - There must be no divisions among you

See how you argue against scripture.

To claim Christ abandoned his Church is to call him a liar. As you can only serve one master those who deny Christ, and the scriptures certainly are not Christian.

So who corrects you when you err, and why do you reject the Sacred Traditions set down by the Apostles, and the Church Christ established on the Rock?
