  • Somebody please explain why there are three musicians and 20 dancers on that stage?

Does all that choreography REALLY make for a more fulfilling musical experience? Not to say that there wasn't a lot of ridiculously overblown spectacle in previous years, but at least the musicians could play their darn instruments and sing their darn songs.

Answers? Questions? Comments? Random Hate? Bring it on, because I would LOVE to hear anyone defend those 20 dancers and the singer who can't sing.

  • Where to place amp in 1999 Saturn SC1?

The trunk of my Saturn SC1 has flimsy side panels w/ no bracing; floor is mostly taken up with fiberboard cover of the hatch for spare tire (do NOT want to block tire access); back seat folds and backs of seats are also pretty flimsy. Can you suggest a decent mounting point for an aftermarket subwoofer amp?

  • Movie / Car question: in "The Godfather", what is the car that Michael drives while hiding in Sicily?

It is the long, low black coupe which is later blown up, killing Michael's wife Appolonia - what is it?

  • Car Stereo question - system callibration?

I'm trying to set up my system which includes an active crossover - the manual for the crossover says to "turn up the output until the signal distorts, then back it off a bit"; the manuals for the amps both say basically the same thing: "turn up the gain until it distorts, then back it off a bit" ; fair enough, BUT . . . how do I know whether the distortion is from too much output or too much gain? (If I don't know which is which, I can't correct the problem!) Is there some rule of thumb I should follow regarding where to set the gain on the signal going into the amps, or should I work at it from the crossover end? I've gotten nowhere with Tech Support from the manufacturers of any of the equipment; their techs don't seem to be very knowledgeable, and think that reading the manual to me over the phone will solve the problem. I've read the manuals, they don't contain the information that I need, that's why I called the Tech Support line. Anyone have any tips, tricks or insights?

  • How does the "plastic bag trick" work?

As most cashiers know, a credit card which is difficult for a card-reader to read can often be read if a plastic grocery bag is wrapped around the card before it is swiped through the machine. As a cashier, I'm curious (as are many of my customers) - what is the mechanism by which this works?

  • Studio 60 - where can i download transcript?

I want to find a site where I can download (for free) a copy of the on-air rant about television that Judd Hirsch gave in the premiere episode - please don't say "just Google it", as that didn't work.

  • Kill Bill Vol. 2 - what is the silver sports car that Bill drives?

It has a curved fastback roofline, & is visible parked in front of Budd's trailer in the "That woman deserves her vengeance..." scene - please don't redirect me to the "Entertainment & Movies" forum, I got only one answer there & the answer was "some sort of jeep"

  • Does anyone know anything about cheap electric guitars from the late 60's / early 70's?

I'm trying to find information about a particular guitar I used to see in the discount stores in northern Ohio / southern Michigan. It was sort-of stratocaster style, usually came in a very dark green sunburst finish, and had 5 single-coil pickups.

  • Which acts played with Johnny Winter at a blues festival held at Chene Park, Detroit MI in summer of 1985?

I'm fairly certain that the festival was sponsored by Budweiser, anyway the beer was really flowing which is one reason I'm having such difficulty remembering (the last 21 years is another). The T-shirt I still have is for Winter's "Serious Business" tour, but includes no dates or venues.
