  • Is there such a thing as a ski bag designed to hold skis and boots?

I looked through the other questions and couldn't find a decent answer. I want a bag to carry my boots, skis, poles, gloves, etc. from my car to the locker rooms at the ski resort. I know this seems unnecessary but I think it would be convenient.

I have seen people suggest to use a snowboard bag or a double ski bag but would this let my skis bang around too much?

I know this is early to be asking this question but I want to prepare for the season :)

  • Christians: What is your stance on necessity of baptism to enter the kingdom of heaven?

Is baptism required to avoid going to hell or do you just have to confess (and believe) that God sent His only Son to die for your sins? I have heard arguments on both sides.

What if you believe but are never baptized? Are you denied entry to heaven?

Conversely, what if you are baptized (like a young child or infant) and later do not believe in your heart of hearts in Jesus' death and Resurrection for our sins? Is that your "free pass" to heaven?

  • Is it possible to add a leaf spring to a Mercury Mountaineer?

I have a 2000 Mercury Mountaineer and I want to add 1 leaf spring to the pack on each side. Is this possible to do without too much modification? How much ride am I going to sacrifice when I am not towing? Thanks.

  • Can paint turtles survive in an outdoor pond environment in Ohio?

We just inherited 2 paint turtles that a family had kept in an aquarium. We have a small 500 gallon goldfish pond outdoors with about 30 goldfish of different sizes.

If we put the turtles in the pond, could they survive? Would we need to take them out in the winter? The fish seem to survive the winters fine.

Also, would the turtles eat the fish?

I know this is more than one question and I would like to say in advance that I appreciate the help. Thanks.

  • In your opinion: Who are the most OVERRATED and the most UNDERRATED country artists?

Just curious to see what everyone has to say. I have my own personal feelings.

Doesn't matter what era or whether it's a group or an individual.

Feel free to express your opinion of the genre's direction in general if you will. (Movement away from traditional roots, etc.)

    Thanks, all!

  • Recycling questions: cigarette butts, air filters, food wrappers, bathroom waste?

We are doing a project for work trying to eliminate all possible waste from our facility and are hitting a few roadblocks. We have the sand filled cigarette disposals, but what do you do with the butts when the container is filled?

What about food-tainted waste (usually wrappers)? Our local recycler won't take any paper that has touched food.

We also want to know if it's possible to recycle bathroom paper towels we use to dry our hands.

Lastly, what should you do with old industrial air filters? We send them out to get re-cleaned, but you can only do that so many times. What do you do with them when it's finally time to pitch them?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • What songs have the best sad fiddle parts?

I absolutely love heart-wrenching fiddle in country and bluegrass. To me, nothing can express the tone of a song like a lonesome fiddle.

What are some of your favorite songs w/fiddle?

  • What is the difference between a textile and a leather motorcycle jacket?

I just bought my first motorcycle, and I need some gear. I got a good helmet with a face shield and now I would like a jacket.

I believe a textile is a little thinner than leather but just as dense and I believe there are zippered vents in the front of some.

What are the advantages of one over the other?

I am not going to be riding long distances or very frequently; just a couple times a week.

Other than padding in the elbows, what else should I look for?

Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Does anyone think a dual speed limit is a good idea? What was the rationale behind it?

I don't know how many other states have one, but here in Ohio, we have one and I think it is just a bad idea.

Trucks & other large vehicles have to stay to 55 mph, while small vehicles can travel 65.

This often leads to a bottleneck in traffic. As long as there are trucks in the right (slow) lane, then you have to stay in the left lane to maintain your maximum legal speed.

That means if another driver is trying to go over the 65 mph limit, they are held up by the trucks in the right lane and the cars in the left.

I'm sure that someone thought it was a good idea when they started it, so I wanted to know, what's the logic behind it?

  • How does a Chevy Cobalt compare with a Nissan Versa?

Ok, I have nailed down my two choices in the new car market.

I am just curious if I am missing something in comparing the two cars.

The Cobalt has free money; 0% for 60.

The Versa financing is close, 1.9% for 60.

Their complete vehicle warranties are identical:

    3 years or 36,000 miles.

Powertrain warranties aren't quite as identical:

The Cobalt has a 5 year, 100,000 mile powertrain warranty,

    The Versa a 5 year, 60,000 mile.

Because of a lower MSRP, the Versa payments will actually be better.

    Has anyone compared the two?

    What do you think?

  • What's the best economy car bang for the buck?

Ok, so my wife and I have finally decided to pull the trigger on a new car. Our car needs more in repairs than it will ever be worth, we can't afford a new car cash, and a used car will be about as nice as ours was when we first bought it (80,000 miles, just waiting for parts to break). We are looking for a 5 speed, 4 cylinder, basic car.

We are Ford people by heart but the Chevy Cobalt looks more and more appealing. (Especially with a 0% for 60 month finance plan and a 5 year/100,000 mile warranty).

What are your suggestions? I've read reviews, looked at prices, compared programs.

I've looked at Cobalts, Focuses, the Fit, the Yaris, the Hyundai Accent, and the Rabbit.

I understand trade and locale all play a part, but personal opinions, reviews, program info., etc. would be extremely helpful.

    Thanks!

  • What Jeeps will the 304 V-8 bolt directly to?

I am looking at a 304 V-8 for only $100. It's been sitting for a number of years, but my brother and I would like to learn to rebuild an engine. I would like to know what Jeep we could eventually put it in.

Is it mechanincally friendly (easy to work on)?

A friend told me that engine will get poor mileage with not a lot of power. Is this correct?

    Thanks for the help.

  • What is the difference between power tilt and power trim on a boat?

I believe tilt just moves it from transport to water position and trim moves it slightly while in the "water" position, but I'm not totally sure.

  • Proponents of arctic drilling/ANWR drilling: Do you think this will make oil renewable?

I am thinking with the pinch we're feeling that it's about time to help offset these ridiculous living costs but I'm afraid if we drill up there and oil becomes cheap again we will forget we need a solution.

When oil was cheap abundant we failed to look for an alternative because we felt we didn't need one. No one thought about how oil is NON-RENEWABLE.

My local newspaper ran an article about the rising cost of fuel and some of the comments are evident of consumer mindset:

    http://www.the-daily-record.com/news/article/37872...

The proponents of drilling think extra oil is a magical fix. It still doesn't solve our problems completely.

  • Getting an inside dog when wife and I both work?

I grew up with an inside dog and my wife and I are both very much dog people but I am concerned that we don't have enough time to properly raise a dog. She's decided she wants a dog and we found a family looking to give theirs away.

    I work Mon-Fri 8-5 and every Saturday till 1.

She works and goes to school, so she's usually home half a day two times a week and all day once a week.

    We both have Sundays free.

Is this enough time to devote to a dog?

I realize different breeds vary in the amount of attention required, but I just don't want to be unfair to the dog or us.

    Appreciate some insight, thanks.

  • Suzuki motorcycle model identification?

My uncle has a 1988 motorcycle that I believe is a Suzuki. I'm under the impression it is a rather low CC bike (maybe around 300-600).

It does not look like a crotch rocket. I would describe it as having more "classic" styling. (More like an American bike). He is trying to sell it and not asking a whole lot of $ which is why I'm interested but I was trying to get pictures and background information on the model.

I appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

  • How to determine what pressure to inflate car tires to?

My Ford garage always deflates my tires everytime I take the car in. They say the tires need inflated to the pressure listed on the sticker on the inside of the door. But I say since the tires on my car are not the tires it came with that I should use the pressure rating listed on the tires.

Is there a general rule on finding appropriate pressure?

I generally take the max cold PSI and inflate to 90-95% of this number.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

  • Does this finally make it clear what Mexico wants?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080408/us_nm/mexico_a...

That's right. Not all of them, but enough. That's why they want us to give up our language, why they won't adapt like the immigrants of the past, why they want to bring in their culture and turn our country into theirs.

They are doing a terrible job with their own country, why are we letting them ruin ours?

Here in my county we have crime like we've never had before and even though it's illegal against illegal, it's not good to have around.

They hang their flag, they speak their language, they want us to conform. What they want is another Mexico, but with our benefits. They don't realize that these benefits come from a unified United States, made from the hard work of Native Americans and immigrants WILLING TO CONFORM for the good of the country.

3 generations back my family were immigrants. They came, worked hard, learned English and loved America. They served in the military and didn' take handouts.
