  • Real Estate Agents...Have you ever heard of this?

Is this tradition? My mom's real estate agent burried 2 Saint Joseph statues face down in the properties rose garden to get things moving on the house. I am from California and tend to hang out with some weird people but I have never heard of this. Do you bury charms or icons on the properties you are trying to move?

My first thought was, wouldn't a religious statue from any denomination be a little violated if you burried them face down in the dirt? Would that be considered a selfish act?

  • Fashion vs Comfort?

I have a pair of boots that are very comfortable and I wear them frequently. My friends think I am a dork for even wearing them at all because they are cowboy boots. I don't care that they tease me. It's in a loving, bring it on, friend kind of way.

Anyways, my position on the dork side of the fence is, I feel good when I wear my boots.

Their position is, It's better to look good than to feel good.

    Which do you agree with?

  • What would you do if you saw 'someone's' dad?

Just curious. Say you were out early one Sunday morning, taking a walk to get coffee, blah blah and whatever. You walk past a certain hotel and notice a friendly dog leashed to a tree near a cluster of its bungalows. Since you love dogs, you stop to pet it. As you are petting and talking to the dog, a blonde lady comes out of a nearby door and she is really nice, it's her dog. Say then, you happen to turn your head to the door at the same moment the door opens again. What would you do if you saw a person you totaly unexpected walk out that door...like someone's married dad?

Would you honor the fact he is a grown man, free to make his own choices and keep your mouth shut? OR

Would you reveal your encounter in a conversation with the someone?

Because of his syptoms, the vet suspects kidney failure and asked me what brand of dog food I have been feeding him. I have been feeding him the Iams packets, chicken flavor. The vet said there is a recall on this food. Is anyone else experiencing this with their dog?

  • I am SO sick of political name-bashing. Where is it getting us?

What happened to fun 'debates' where everyone communicated the positive and negative facts about their party... and laughed together? It seems that people are so cut throat now, they do not want to see anything positive in any other political party except theirs.

EVERY party has its pluses and minuses.

When I talk to people about politics, I am finding more and more people hide behind a label and spew out facts they heard on the news.

They never explain their research into their political belief or how they support their political view in daily life. After the fact spewing they move into name bashing.

    It has become so stupid!

Where is the name calling getting anyone?

  • Do you think it is right to stunt your childs growth on purpose?

I read an article yesterday in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat and it is really bothering me. The parents of a severly disabled child had her growth stunted medicaly so she would be easier to take care of at home. Stunted, she will stay the same size as a small 9 year old for her life so her parents can fit her on a pillow and deal with her easier.

I understand that some parent/s can not lift a larger 5 foot 6 inch disabled child/young adult out of bed, so keeping them smaller makes it easier, but is it moraly right? I believe it is not. What say you?

  • Small mirrors at dinner to work on manners?

My nephew, age 9, has the worst eating manners. He puts his head down near the plate and scrapes the food into his mouth and chews huge mouthfuls loudly with his mouth open while never using a napkin. I have tried and tried to show him proper table manners, lectured him, practiced with him but he's still a mess at the table.

Do you think placing a small mirror in front of his plate so he could watch himself eat would help?

Is it wrong to expect appropriate table manners from an 9 year old?

I am his auntie and I am worried he is getting to the age where he will start eating dinner and spending the night at the homes of his friends and I don't want him to embarrass himself is all.

    Any helpful ideas are encouraged.

  • My town was awarded a $500,000 grant to be be split 3 ways.?

The money was supposed to be split between our local teen center, our local fire department and the city's community pool project. The City decided to put ALL the money towards the building of a community pool and give the fire department and teen center none, zip, zero, nothing.

  • Kaiser Permanente sent my my mother 4 bottles of Ephedrine <200 pills per bottle>?

She did not ask for them. She went to get tested for allergies and they gave her one bottle. Then a week later in the mail were the 4 extra bottles.

It is illegal to hold that ammount of Ephedrine in California. Why would Kaiser Permanente issue Ephedrine like candy in a state that is on the top of the list for Methamphetamine production? Should she send it back or hold it as evidence against them and call the DEA?

  • I ratted on a good friend. Do you think she will ever forgive me?

My friend uses the money her mom gives to her for methadone to buy drugs near the parking lot of the treatment clinic instead. Drugs like crack and meth and stolen prescription pills.

I ratted her out to her mom after keeping it a secret for 2 years.

Do you think my friend will ever forgive me?

  • Upward cut makes less noise?

I am reading the US Army Survival Manual this summer.

The book says, when moving through dense vegetation an upward cut with a machette makes less noise than a downward cut. Why is that?

  • My Allergy Theory?

Landscapers usually plant male trees. They are cleaner because they don't drop fruit and most tidy Americans like that. The natural landscape is removed for new housing construction and then replanted with mostly male species of plants. There is an over abundance of pollen in the air because there are less female trees to absorb it. What do you think?
