  • Do you have a favorite coffee mug?

Do you like to use the same coffee mug every day, or do you switch them out? Do you have a "good luck" coffee mug? I like to use a different mug every day. They're all different and the one I reach for just depends on which color or pattern I'm drawn to that day. I also think the choice of mug will somehow bring me good luck, as crazy as it sounds. What about you?

  • Guys, any recommendations on a "man bag" for Christmas gift?

Hi guys, I want to get my brother a man bag for Christmas. I'm open to looking at leather, canvas or other material. Just want something nice and durable, something not too bulky (it's replacing an ugly backpack which is way too bulky!) and a size that would hold a small laptop or tablet, and other small stuff he carries. Any recommendation on a style or brand that you've been happy with, would be great!!

  • Gross receipts tax on artwork...anyone?

I hope someone can clear this up for us. We live in a state where there is gross receipts tax, and I have a few friends who sell art through local shops. The shop owner sells the artwork and the customer gets charged sales tax. The owner, at the end of the month, then sends in gross receipts tax for those pieces sold. The artists get half $$ of the selling price. Are they required to pay gross receipts tax, and if not, is it then considered income?? I understand that if the artist/owner has their own business and/or website, and they sell through that directly, they need to pay GRT on their own, but what about going through a shop where tax has already been collected/paid??

  • Why all the junk emails from netzero?

I've had a netzero email account now for several years (in addition to yahoo). Within the last couple of weeks, I am getting several junk mails per day. I've tried blocking them, and have contacted NZ about it, but they are telling me they all come from netzero, and I would need to upgrade in order to not receive junkmails. Has this happened to anyone else lately? Just curious...I will probably get rid of the account. I should be able to not get junk emails....FOR FREE!!

  • Neck pain and cracking...continue to see chiropractor?

I have neck pain, mostly lower neck, and cracking, for almost three months now. Some days the pain is not as bad as others, but bad enough that it hurts when I turn my head. I didn't have an accident or any other type of injury to my neck. I would say the pain I feel most days, on a scale of 1 to 10, would be about a 5 or 6. I've been seeing a chiropractor now for about 4 weeks, three times a week. She turns my head and "cracks" my neck, does a very short massage, if I can even call it that, and ultrasound. I usually feel better when I leave, but the treatment helps for a short time, for example this morning I woke up feeling the pain again, and the pain I have today is the worst I've had all week.

She took an x-ray during one of my first visits, which showed my neck doesn't have the right "curve", and that some of the bones show signs of "wear" (or whatever the right term is).

At this point, I really don't think the chiro treatments are working, and I'm supposed to go for another couple weeks. Are there any other alternatives out there, anyone else I should see about this pain? I'm doing whatever else I can; I've also tried one of those special pillows, and adjusting where I put my computer, etc. Any suggestions are appreciated!

  • Got hair colored but now it's too dark. How soon can it be lightened?

I have a one-process color about every six weeks at a salon. I decided to go a bit darker but now it is way darker than I expected and I don't like it at all. Can I get the color I had before, and how soon can I get this done? I am hoping I can go back in the next day or two but I don't want to risk hair damage.

  • New part, or brand new furnace?

Our heat stopped working a few days ago. The furnace is probably close to ten years old and is not a very top-quality one. Our home is approx 1500 sq ft. The repairman came out and checked everything, and said it needs a new valve. He said he wasn't sure of the price of the valve, but said it could run a couple hundred. Our other choice is to get a brand new furnace (and of course he recommended the highly $$$ Trane furnaces).

I'm getting a quote on this new part, and I think a couple hundred for a very small part is outrageous, but if it is in fact expensive, is it better to just install a brand new furnace? We will be in this home for close to a year or so but after that will move. Any tips will be helpful!!

  • Is there hope for my red sunset maple tree?

I planted a beautiful, tall red sunset maple in my back yard about three months ago. I live in the southwest where it is hot, windy, and dry, most of the time. From the time I brought it home, up to about a month ago, it was very windy and the winds hardly ever died down, except for at night. I did water it per the instructions. But the wind seemed to have knocked the life out of the tree; the leaves were wilting and browning towards the edges.

Now we've gotten some rain, and I have also pruned back some of the branches where there seemed to be no new growth. The leaves have actually "perked up", and I am seeing a bit of growth now, but nothing major. Does this mean there still is hope for this tree? I hope so as the leaves will turn a beautiful red in the fall!

    Thanks in advance!
