  • Travelling France in July?

I have several questions about travelling to France in July:

    1. What is the weather like in July, or how hot is it?

    2. What do locals normally wear during summer? Coz I don;t want to look like a tourist :)

    3. Paris Metro Pass: I am looking to purchase this when I get to Paris and NOT online, so my question is, where can I buy this in Paris? Is it possible to purchase at CDG Airport, tourist info center?

*The pass is unlimited and unrestricted for use of metro and buses and RER trains. I am looking to buy the 3-days, 5-zones option. Where can I buy this?

    4. Can Paris hop-on-hop-off tickets be bought just anywhere in Paris? I also DO NOT wish to buy this online.

    5. I am planning to travel to Nice and Monaco. Are there HOHO tours in Nice? Where can i buy the ticket there?

    6. Should I buy train tickets to Nice in advance for better fares? Is this true? I am planning to buy it at the train station on day of departure. Is this a good idea?

    7. I plan to stay at the Opera Grand Boulevard area. Is this a good location?

Which location is better, Opera Grand boulevard, or Gare Montparnasse?

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my many questions.

  • France and Italy Travel?

Hi, I have some questioned for my travel to France and Italy.

    On Transportation:

    1. What is the best option to travel from Paris to Rome? By plane or train?

Since this is going to be a one-way air ticket from Paris to Rome, which airline is the best and cheapest for such flight?

If by train, how long is the train ride and which train should I get?

    2. Which train should I use to travel around Italy? Rome to Florence, Florence to Venice and Venice to Milan.

    3. From Milan to Paris, I plan to take the train. Which train should I use? How long is the journey to Paris from Milan?

    On Hotels:

    1. Recommended hotels in paris for easy access to most tourist sites like Champs Elysees, Eiffel, Arc De Triomphe, etc?

    2. Recommended Hotels in Rome, close to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, etc.

    3. Recommended hotels in Florence walking distance to the Dome, Uffizi Gallery, etc.

    4. Recommended hotels in Venice that requires no crossing of bridges upon arrival, and does not require lining up for the water bus upon arrival -( We got seniors and luggages in tow).

    5. Recommended hotels in Milan at the center of the city accessible to anything since our stay here is short.

    Thanks for the help!

  • Universal Studios Osaka?

So we are planning a 2.5 day trip to Osaka before we hit on Kyoto and Tokyo.

My question is: Is it well worth it to visit Universal Studios there, or would it be better spent walking around Osaka Bay Area?

I have been to one in California. So I am wondering if this one in Osaka compares with that in California.

Another question is: Are there always long queues in all the rides? Approximately how long are the lines?

Please tell me more about the queues - is it as bad as what the Tripadvisor commentator are saying?

How about the shows? Are they in Japanese only?

    Worthiness-wise for time and money?

  • Is`it okay to change my korean won in yen in Japan?

I have some hundred thousand Korean Won notes that was left during my travel to the country last year, and since I am traveling to Japan this month, I plan to bring it with me and have it changed to Japanese Yen at the Airport or bank. Will this be acceptable to the Japanese given the island disputes the 2 countries are having right now? Is it really ok?

  • Budget for japan trip?

Anyone who have been in japan for a period of time and knows more or less how much this will cost:

Do you think 400,000 yen (5k USD) is enough to cover the following for 2 PERSONS for 10 days?

    NOTE:

We plan to eat mid range foods, maybe some fast food if ok. We are not very heavy shoppers.. so maybe just some souvenirs to take back home and some personal items.

Hotels are not yet paid - it averages 170 usd per night for 2 pax. (YEN 119,300 total for 9 nights)

Day 1: Fly to Osaka and shop around Minami Namba, Amerikamura, Dontonbori.

Day 2: Osaka Castle and Osaka Museum of History

Day 3: Take rapid train to Kyoto, visit temple, gion dinner, gion tea ceremony and show.

Day 4: Kinkakuji temple, Shrine and Pontocho

Day 5: Take rapid train to Tokyo and visit Odaiba

Day 6: Imperial palace, manuoruchi, akihabara

    Day 7: Sanrio and Asakusa

Day 8: harajuku, shinjuku, shibuya, roppongi

    Day 9: Mt Fuji tour

Day 10 flight back to home country

You think our 400,000 (USD 5,000) is enough for us? Air ticket to and from japan have been PAID in advance.

    Thanks !

  • What makes a currency strong in the global market?

    1. What actually make a country's currency strong in the global market?

    2. What defines a country's currency to appreciation or depreciation?

    3. Given that Japan has a strong economy, why is the Yen so depreciated? South Korea is also a strong economy, and it's money is virtually useless and highly depreciated - why?

    4. Is there a possibility that one day the Chinese Yuan will be 1:1 to the USD, or anywhere close? Why?

    5. Is it wise to say, that if you are earning a strong foreign currency (like the USD, or the Chinese Yuan, Euro, etc), you have to automatically convert it to the currency you will eventually use in your home country, given the fact that currencies appreciates and depreciates in value overtime, and without any warning, but at the end of the day, it is in your own home country where you will end up using it?

    6. Why are Indian and Russian currencies higher than the Chinese Yuan when compared to the USD, given that they are all emerging economies? What factors determines this?

  • Fainted, woke up with clawed fingers?

On Saturday, my sister fainted for a split seconds after suddenly standing up from the floor. When she eventually gained consciousness (after a few sec), her fingers are clawed - first segment bent, and was having tingling sensation on both her arms.

Today, she felt dizzy again, but didn't faint.

What could cause this and what tests needs to be done?

  • Will the Philippine peso continue to appreciate against the USD?

There are rumors that the Philippine peso will eventually appreciate against the USD to 1:35. My question is, how far will it appreciate and what will influence its appreciation and the USD's depreciation?

How about the Chinese Yuan? It has slipped to 1:6.25, and now its getting depreciated at 1:6.36.

Please shed some light on future trends of these currencies - USD, Chinese Yuan, and Philippine Peso.

  • religion should be phased-out when done collectively in public?

Now I am not asking; I am telling.

I dont see the need for religion to be a congregation of people getting together in one sunday morning or anytime of the day for that matter, and after the service, each member sets out to do as any one who does not go to church does.

Why should there be christians and catholics and buddhist when at the end of the day, and when push comes to shove, people will react, think same way as, say, an atheist?

Example: A very christian woman, so desperately lonely went online to find a husband, or a person who after church service decided she doesnt want to be associated with another christian person, bec he is "weird".

Tell me people, do we need to gather in one place to pray and praise God and show people we are so damn good when we act like any normal people? And when push comes to shove, we are gonna tell people "we are only humans doing same mistakes"? Hey come on.. I dont buy it.

I might have a higher expectations from Christians, or any religion for that matter - If a pastor or a priest sets out every sunday to open the church, give out sermons, ask for donations, then something must be higher than these religious people, rigth? But if u guys are just one and the same with any human being, why do we have to bother listen to your "recruitment" statement? Is the church there just so it can collect donations?

We can praise God, love God, in our own homes.

Or people just want to go to church to show off their brand new stuff?

Get dressed bec thats the only place they can get dressed?

religion, esp christianity is very very confusing religion.

stop the talking bec we want to you to lead by examples. its a tough job, bec u guys are "only human", but we want some action and not all talk.

If you live outside big cities like Oslo, can that disability pension go much further?

Would like to kow more about disability pension and how it has helped the recipient.

Would like to know if there are also poor people living in Norway, or everybody is as rich as the country/govt itself?
