I have a dell optiplex gx620 (not the form factor one, the full case model.) and i recently Re installed windows XP on it. but XP doesnt have native sata support, so i had to set the SATA HD to combine mode. then i did the installation, and ran driver checker and installed all of the drivers, took the HD off combine mode, and rebooted, and neither of the CD drives or the second HD are reading at all. what can i do??

okay, so i installed a new video card, an ATI radeon 7600, downloaded the driver, installed, it showed an error message saying i needed to install microsoft .NET framework 2.0 to run the ATI catalyst control center.

i downloaded microsoft .net framework 3.5 attempted install, it said i needed windows installer

downloaded, installed smooth, then installed .NET framework 3.5 smooth as well

but when i try to run the ATI CCC, it gives me an error:

'CLI.implementation, version=2.0.3404.40392, culture=neutral, publickeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e' or one of its dependencies, windows cannot find the file?

any help?

Okay, so i have a new Build that i just installed XP home on.

(Specs)

Motherboard: (ECS) 741gx-m

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2400+

Ram: 512mb

(if you want more specs lemme know)

i originally had no sound devices reading at all, then looked up the driver for the onboard soundcard, and installed it, and the volume level appeared, and it shows songs playing in WMP but no sound comes out of the speakers (built into the monitor, Yes, i know for a fact that they work, and that the line from the speakers to the computer works)

The driver that i found is the realtek AC '97 driver. install was smooth, but still no sound

i checked for conflicts (the ones that windows would recognize anyway) and there arnt any. it says that the sound is working fine.

what else can i do to diagnose/fix the problem???

(this computer is for my girlfriend for her birthday, which is on the 29th, and its mainly going to be used to listen to music. (i ****** up her birthday present last year, and i dont want a repeat of that if possible) so 10 points to whoever gets it fixed first, or gets me on the right track to getting it fixed fast.

will it work for me? i kinda dont really wanna dye it either, but can you guys gimme some ideas for other scene hairstlyes that would work for me?

i wont waste it on hit and run BS, and i will be able tokeep my ratio above 3.0, at least. i always seed everything i download for at least a week after, and if i find it actually usefull ill seed for as long as i use the program. it would be really helpfull to get into demonoid, as i would then have more stuff to seed.
