  • What political party do you classify yourself as and why?

Earlier this evening, I found myself in a position where I was challenged to identify my political stance in terms of parties. I personally believe falling into one category is not realistic. I believe that our country should not go to war or force authority on any other country unless provoked directly (non-terrorist) and that government should not have a large role in people's lives. At the same time, I do not think its fair that I am obligated to pay any taxes or pay into a system that pays my earned dollars to people who are lazy and living in a social welfare-handout state of mind.

I am seriously worried about where our country is heading and not sure if a new election between a republican and democrat will solve anything. What are your thoughts and what "political party" do you identify with?

  • Food Poisoning?

I got food poisoning this weekend from PF Chang's and ended up in the emergency room. Does anyone have experience with this kind of thing? I want to know if I could get PF Chang's to refund my bill as well as maybe cover any hospital expenses that are not covered by my insurance. What do you think?

  • Lounge/Bar to go to in Chicago?

Looking for a place where about 5-10 friends can go and chill Saturday night. Here is my criteria:

    - A place that is not a dance club, but has some dancing

    - More of a lounge feel as opposed to an after-work vibe

    - In Chicago, but not in Lincoln Park or Wrigleyville

    - Finally, we are city dwellers, please no bars that are known to attract the suburban crowd.

    What spot would you suggest?

    Thanks so much!

  • How to apply Web 2.0 in a B2B setting?

    Hi there.

I have recently learned about Web 2.0 and how it is revolutionizing the Internet. I am curious, how could I apply these learnings to a B2B environment? For example, how could a company that produces tomatoes use Web 2.0 technologies in an effort to win business from a chain restaurant? Thanks in advance for the help!

  • Rock star / celebrity crush from your past?

As I am watching a the Zoo TV concert dvd, I realize that I had a huge a crush on the Edge from U2 when I was like 12. He is so amazing in that purple cut off shirt and playing the guitar! When I heard him singing the back up vocals for "The Fly" I knew I really liked him! Which celebrity/rock star do you remember having a crush on?

  • How many of you plan on voting for Ron Paul?

As an American, I am sad to say that I currently have little faith in our government. This is mostly due to the Bush administration as well as Chicago's corrupt political officials. With another election coming up in November, I am literally frightened that some of the candidates running for president could actually become president. I cannot imagine what kind of disaster Hillary or Rudy would produce for our nation. Over the past couple of years, I feel like I have literally watched our rights be infringed upon, our economy decline, and our dollar weaken in comparison to foreign currency. America is facing many problems and we do not need another disaster like Bush leading us.

That is why I am so interested in Ron Paul. His message is completely different and makes total sense. He bases his policy on the constitution and does not buy into the idea of telling the people what they want to hear. I will be voting for Paul and I am just wondering, how many of you will do the same?

  • What is the average amount of a raise?

I have been at my company for a year in February and I would like to ask for a raise. I am a hard worker and my bosses have told me what a difference I have made around our office. Upon my initial research of median salaries for people with my job in my area, I have realized that I am making 15% less than the average. I want to ask for a 15% raise because I figure that is the median, plus I have a degree and one year of experience, but fear that the number may be too high. Does anyone know the average percentage of a raise? Also, do you think it is better to throw out a larger number and work down or throw out a smaller number and risk not making the higher amount? Thanks, all!
