  • Are there any specific dress codes for Vegas casinos?

I kind of figured not tank tops and bathing suits, but does jeans and tee shirts work for casinos?

  • have I finally figured out what is wrong with the conservative party?

their money is more important to them than someone else's life. this really seems strange and immoral to me. now i know that not all conservatives are this way, so dont get me wrong. but indeed, many are.

In discussing the difference between iraq spending and government assisted healthcare, andy stated this:

1- if you think we shouldn't be building hospitals in Iraq what do you think of Mexican women getting free hospital care when they cross the border to have their baby?

now, this really set off a bell in my head. he is obviously stating that this healthcare is a bad thing. but i completely support this woman. if having her child in our country would prevent that child from growing up in the horrendously awful mexico, i would pay for her care myself. it shouldnt be an issue about money when a child can grow up with a great opportunity compared to a terrible one. so i have no problem with using my tax dollars on this type of care. what are your takes on this?

  • Why do Conservatives think its ok to use our tax dollars to pay for hospitals and schools in iraq?

but its not ok to use our tax dollars on our own healthcare system? isnt that kinda sad? you willing to throw hundreds of billions of dollars on another nation's healthcare but will not use any on our own? what gives?

  • Do people not understand what we mean when we talk about strict gun control?

I mean lets be honest here. i dont think the mainstream argument for gun control is to take all guns away. thats crazy because it does violate the 2nd amendment. mainstream democrats do not want this. why do conservatives always equate gun control with gun bans? here is a simple solution that is more than fair that would lower some of our problems, most of which really shouldnt be controversial:

    1. do not allow any body with a criminal record, either felonies, violent misdeamenors, or and theft related crimes.

    2. outlaw anyone who has any history of mental disorder, whether simple depression or chronic schizophrenia

    3. maintain a minimum 1 week waiting period before a purchase can be complete

    4. require a license to purchase ammunition, with the license only allowing for reasonable amounts of ammunition, and ONLY ammunition for the weapon listed on the license. this would hopefully stop or at least reduce those who have illegally purchased weapons to get ammo from walmart

  • What is the heck is wrong with stricter gun control laws?

i get tired of seeing all these people talking about dropping gun control. that is absolutely insane. we need much stricter gun control laws that allows only the right people the opportunity to carry guns. its simple. you should go through a very strict and in depth background check, not just to see if you are a felon or not. only responsible people should carry guns, plain and simple. you shouldnt be able to walk into a gun show and buy any gun you want without a background check (like at columbine). you shouldnt be able to buy military style assault weapons. i would never advocate taking away guns, but how can anyone argue that we dont need strict gun control laws? do you think any joe smith should be able to have one? how in the world would that help? wouldnt that cause MORE gun crimes because people that normally wouldnt have access to guns all of a sudden can go to any gun store and walk away with one.

  • How long will it take for the NRA to hold a big pro-gun rally on the VT campus?

3 days, a week. kinda of like what they did right after columbine. "from my cold, dead fingers" i believe was one of the quotes. whether or not you support gun rights (i do) dont you think the NRA goes a little bit too far?

for goodness sakes people, they are blowing up their own parliament! isnt the "green zone" supposed to be safe. what else can possibly happen before you finally admit enough is enough?

  • Why does Bush simply not get it?

does he not understand that he can no longer get everything he wants from congress? he is calling for a "meeting" but states that it is in no way a negiotition. he thinks he can sit all the dems in a room and tell them what he wants and how he wants it done and it will be so. sorry, but its not going to happen. he no longer has a republican congress behind his every move. the dems are doing exactly what the american people want, and thats who they work for. why does bush not understand that he has lost?

  • What exactly do you define as victory for America?

i get tired of seeing the same posts and answers about america winning and victory. what is a victory for america? what will be classified as a victory? do people not realize that america is no longer fighting a war. the iraqis are fighting among themselves, and we are caught in the middle. we have no clear enemy, only "insurgents" who are from both sect of the nation. i just dont understand how this is still considered our war and what will justify bringing the troops home.

  • Does anybody honestly believe bush handled 9-11 well?

i mean, now that we are over 5 years removed, do you think he did a good job? do you honestly feel that he did america a service after 9-11? forget iraq for the time being....i think the majority of people would concede that that was a mistake (if nothing more than the way it was handled.) but did bush do a good job with 9-11? i say no. we still havent caught the one man who was responsible for the attacks, though we were promised he would be caught. we had an opportunity to unite as a nation, as we were after 9-11. but that soon faded with our entry into iraq and our failure to capture bin laden. now our nation is divided probably more than ever since the jim crow days. how can you honestly, in good conscience, say that bush did a good job?

  • What happened to one of the basics of Religion?

the basic i speak of is UNITY. isnt one of the ideas and purposes of religion is to unify people? instead, modern religion only seeks to separate and divide people. christians hate muslims, muslims hate jews, its a never ending cycle. yes, we have different views on the world, but we still seek a common goal...the afterlife. its always a "im right, they're wrong" mentality, while everybody thinks that they have a monopoly on God's truth and are superior. even within christianity, people argue about who's right and who's wrong. why cant we just worship and let worship...why the competition? wouldnt the world be a much happier place of people got along?

  • Why are the British so quick to denounce the videos of the British sailors?

Is it because they are admitting in the video that they made a mistake. are they afraid that the world will realize that the british were in fact in iranian waters, possibly trying to stir up something to force a confrontation. most people would be happy to see their soldiers in good health and being treated properly, but instead they talk about how bad it is. arent they just upset because they are beginning to look bad?

  • Does anybody honest to God think that Iraq is safer now than it was 6 years ago?

do you really think we have helped out the average, normal Iraqi citizen. please, for one question, put your partisan beliefs aside and think about the iraqi citizens.

  • If the federal attorney firings are the latest attempt by Dems to attack bush....?

then why in the world is republican after republican stepping up and saying that gonzales needs to resign as well? republican senator specter claimed we needed an AG who is candid and truthful. not a single republican senator or congressmen has came to the defense of the attorney general, only the white house. of course the white house will, because he was doing their dirty work! so dont you people realize that there really was something wrong going on in the justice department and not another "witch hunt" from the Dems?

  • Why is "sticking to your beliefs" always a good thing?

why do people commend bush for sticking by what he believes. does that make him right for standing by those beliefs? doesnt that just make him a close-minded fool? just because you dont back down doesnt mean you are right. look at hitler...he stood by what he believed, though it was wrong. to me, sticking by no matter what, and ignoring what the overwhelming majority of your country feels, smells more like a tyrant than a democracy.

  • When did the Democrats cut funding for the Vietnam War?

are you getting your information from somewhere else, because there is nothing i can find that shows congress cut funding during the vietnam war. in January of 73, nixon signed a treaty ending all american offensive engagements in vietnam. then in december of 1974, basically two years later, congress did vote to cut funding to the SOUTH VIETNAMESE military, not the US. but this was after nixon had already said he was pulling out. so where are you getting your information that the democrats cut funding...or are you just making crap up again.

  • Why were the Republicans such huge traitors in Vietnam?

Their fearless president Nixon is credited with ending US involvment in Vietnam. he pulled the troops out of vietnam because he realized too many americans were dieing. its very similar to what democrats want to do now. we realize that iraq has became a complete and total disaster, and nothing more than a huge civil war. dont you think republicans are being huge hypocrites now for saying liberals are "un-american" when they did the same freaking thing during vietnam?

  • Do you really think that God still blesses America?

i dont mean this to bring in dozens of hate posts, but really think about it. right now we are killing thousands upon thousands of people. i dont think any teachings of God condone this. we completely ignore our poor people in our nation and only focus on getting rich and looking out for ourselves. our violent crime is through the roof, we have exponentially more gun deaths than any other country. we still have racists and sexists feelings filling our nation. do you really think God still blesses american?

  • Isn't Newt Gingrich another blatant example of conservatives unyielding hypocrisy?

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/po/20070310/co_po/gingrich...

i mean seriously, how in the world can you go after somebody who is having an affair when you yourself is having one. very similar to ted haggerd's gay bashing, gingrich led the charge to "bag" clinton while he was just as guilty. and this is the man some conservatives want as president? after all the clinton bashing, now they want him as president? guiliani too? he's no better. great job conservatives.
