  • deactivate Windows vista?

    Hi

Does anybody know if it is possible to deactivate a Windows Vista license from a broken laptop and transfer the license to another computer? If it possible, how do I go about transferring it?

I have heard that was sometimes possible with Windows XP but I'm not sure if it possible with Vista.

    TIA

  • Anybody know where...

Anybody know where I can purchase some motherboard standoffs/spacers for a Coolermaster Stacker 832?

I purchased a second hand one but there no standoffs included. I have tried several different types but they don't fit as the threads for the Stacker seem to be very close together.

    Thanks for any suggestions

  • Vista DVD maker?

Does aybody know how to create a menu with Vista DVD maker? I know I can always install other programs that have this functionality but I would still like to know if there is a way.

I have several files and each need to be started individualy, rather than one long stream. Vista DVD maker doesn't seem to have the ability.

  • Why is it that......?

Why is it that the current generation seemingly cannot differenciate between THERE and THEIR? (amongst other common mistakes).

I know it shouldn't bother me but it does.

OK, I've taken a chill pill. I'm calm again now.

  • Do you work for o2?

If so, why is it so difficult for you to cancel somebody's account?

Let me explain.............on second thoughts I won't because it's a long and sordid tale of strife & woe and I'll have a nervous breakdown If I try to recall the horror of it all..........o2 'support'.............they couldn't support a football team.

  • Has anybody purchased glasses from www.goggles4u.com?

I know this is a legitimate site and I know 1 person who has purchased glasses from www.goggles4u.com , who received has glasses after 12 days and is satisfied with his purchase. I want to know if anybody else has purchased from the site and if the service you received was any good. The reason I ask is because the prices seem to be a bit too cheap (£25 for a pair of rimless glasses!!).

  • Antbody know what I can do with 200 hundred copies of old PC magazines?

from between the years 1999 - 2002. They are mostly copies of PC Format, PC Zone and PC gamer.

I had considered selling them on Ebay but the cost of transporting these would be way to much.......they weigh a ton!!!

  • Not a question, just a rant?

I've been a computer repair person for over 14 Years and seldom come across hardware faults (90% software 10% hardware).

It's amazing; the amount of people who come to me complaining that their computer is rubbish because it's 'always breaking down' when all along, he REAL cause of this 'rubbish' computer is the user. The user who installs anything and everything on their poor old computer without any regard to their poor old groaning copy of Windows XP.

I'm talking about installing nefarious software and the like from dodgy sources, do the people who download from limewire, bearshare etc etc really think that their PC is immune to viruses from such sources BECAUSE THEY HAVE ANTI VIRUS SOFTWARE installed? Don't kid yourself.

I could go on and on about this all day long but I'll spare you the pain, just remember to give you copy of Windows a bit of spring cleaning from time to time and it'll reward you by not breaking down as much.

Ok, rant finished, thanks for reading :-p

  • Can you fit a full length GFX card into a Shuttle SD32G2?

I'm thinking about buying a Shuttle SD32G2 but before I do, I need to know if my brand new Nvidia 8800GTX will fit.

If won't fit are there any SFF cases it will fit into.

  • Does it annoy you when you answer a question and he/she who asked doesn't bother to pick a best answer?

It really gets on my nerves, especially when I've spent my time on researching the answer.

  • Is it normal to feel faint after having a tooth extracted?

I had a rear molar extracted this morning, at first I was okay but after leaving the dentists practice on my way home, I started feeling extremely dizzy and had black spots appearing in my vision, I had to sit on the floor until it subsided; this happened twice more in the 500m walk to my house. It's been several hours since then, but I'm still getting dizzy spells while walking around in my house.
