Brethren, how can I thank you?
I had asked all here to offer a prayer for me a few weeks ago and I have just had the most awesome answer to those prayers. Now, anyone want to tell me God doesn't hear, care, answer??? Thank you so for believing and for praying. You are great!!!
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoShould "news" anchors be forced to disclose their political affiliations?
There are concerns in several politically directed Weblogs, on both sides of the isle, that appear to have some growing concern that journalism is, in fact, opinion in today's 24-hour news setting. If you agree with this assertion, would it help to reinforce rules of journalistic integrity or would you support disclosure of political affiliation?
12 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWhen God asks a question, is He asking for His edification or ours?
In the Bible, there are many instances when God or Jesus ask a question. If you review these instances, what conclusion can you draw from the context in which the questions apply. Is God/Jesus directing our attention to the answer or asking because He doesn't know the answer?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoNon-believers: How do you feel when you discuss Godly, Heavenly differences?
If you were to put the feeling into ONE word, how do you feel when answering or asking questions in this forum? Please be honest. I don't care what the answer is... only that it's honest. I'm doing a study and it matters a great deal to me how you feel WHILE answering or asking questions here..
Thank you in advance.
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCanterbury forces integration in Christian schools and all must meet a quota of different faiths?
What do you think? I've just heard this so don't know that the news is verified. If you have any info on the background of the decision, please include it.
Thank you.
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWould you support religious profiling to counter terrorism?
There has been some talk in Washington that is believed to be priming US citizens for civilian sacrifice toward the war on terror. That sacrifice may be announced as religious profiling to stop radical Islam recruits in US prisons. To protect the US from terrorist attacks, would you support religious profiling?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre you afraid to be strong and courageous?
Joshua 1:6-9
1:6 "Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their forefathers to give them. 7 Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. 8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."
Does this apply today?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo any of you belong to the Daughters of Abraham book club?
If you do, can you tell me your opinion of it?
If not, and you want to give your opinion, can you check out this site and tell me what you think of it?
1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIs it easier to be ignorant of opposing doctrines/beliefs?
When you ask a question, do you really want an answer? When given an answer opposing what you spew out by rote repetition, do you stop to investigate an alternative view. Am I wasting time here? I have a million questions, do you want them all? Okay, just give me your answer to the title question and forget the rest. Thank you in advance.
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy was Muhammads teaching of Islam a threat to the Quraish?
I thought Muhammad was a Quraish. Would it be like Israel not accepting Christ? Do you know how Muhammad turned this fear into the prevalent following that Islam now has in the Mideast?
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoGod's Judgment or Man's?
Many religions believe in a "judgment day". Does humanity worry more about peer judgment than eternal judgment simply because that is human nature? If so, do all religions feel the same pressure? Is it human nature or societal conditioning. I know what the sociologists say. How do you feel it weighs in your life decisions and what religion are you? Does the religion affect the weight given to peer opinion?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoOn the cross, Jesus asks God why He has forsaken Him...?
Does anyone have any insight into this? Even Mohammad expressed feelings that he might be forsaken... as well as others. I have asked for revelation on this and once thought it was about to come to me, but it has since slipped beyond me. I'm interested in interpretaions that do not mock the question, Please. Even if you are not a Christian, you have a general idea of the concept here, so I would be interested in serious thoughts from you, also.
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow do I clear up a misunderstanding in this forum?
Those of you who answered my question on the calling of conversion, I thank you. However, I must clear up an error. Ramdiguan does not live with me. He lives with a family in India whom I also support so that he does not lose the honor of his own country. If, when he turns 18 and wants to attend an American University, I will make every effort to bring him here with his hosts if they choose. The circumstance is complicated, but the point is, we communicate often... That is the influence I spoke of. I appologize for not making it clear.
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAre Christians called before conversion?
There is some evidence that all who are saved are pre-destined by God. I understand that God knows already who will and will not accept Christ as Savior. The question is whether or not we have any altering influence over who believes. The background for this question is that I adopted a five year old boy from India who was Muslim by birth but not with any understanding. I determined that he could choose Christianity or not, but prayed continuously that he would. I asked questions about Islam and tried to present both equally in order to give him a choice. His name is Ramdiguan and I love him dearly. He is now nine years old and baptised into Christ. Was he called or did I somehow influence this. Please, no assertions that I forced my beliefs upon him. I did not. In fact, I probably went too far the other way to make sure I did not create a parot of my own faith. This is a serious question and worries me sometimes.
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHow much time do you spend reading the Bible?
24 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen you say you will pray for a stranger whom you will never meet again, do you?
There is an ulterior motive to the question. I believe in, have seen the evidence of, the power of genuine prayer. Those of you who do, in fact, pray when you say you will; please, please pray for me. God will know what the struggle is. For those of you who do not pray for others when you say you will, is it that you intend to and don't or that "I'll pray for you," is sort of like the well meaning but empty, "How are you?" I really want to know, so please, no Mahamad or Usama, (or the American Osama), or athiest, or unbelieving crap that mocks the question... PLEASE
15 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen a person has truly reformed and transformed their life, what must they do to gain acceptance?
If we agree that a person can change and take it as fact that they have truly reformed, what degree of evidence must be seen and for how long before they can be accepted in society as equal to those who have not been convicted of a crime? If the premise is non-violent, with no obvious victim, (there are no victimless crimes), such as possession of a controlled substance, and formal debt to society has been met, what must the reformed person do to gain acceptance as a valued contributer to free society and commerce? Let's say the person is actively working to help others reform. This person is a model citizen. They intend to continue making a difference regardless of obstacles. They work, pay all their taxes, vote conscientiously, volunteer, and have even gained clearance by the federal government stating that they are reformed and eligiable for early restoration of rights and priveledges. What must they do and for how long must they do it before they can be accepted by society?
