Evangelical Christian from south Louisiana. Reared in the Roman Catholic Church. Became a Christian at age 18. (When I first made the commitment to follow Christ. Until then it was a decision made by my family.) Would love to hear from Christians who believe they are blood bought, Spirit taught, bible thumping believers in Jesus Christ.

  • Did I offend with my question? Would you give aid to someone if you received a large sum of money?

Perhaps it was poorly worded. What I found was that atheists, theists, pagans, witches, zombies, etc. all felt they would give to relieve someone else's suffering. I hope I did not offend others. I know some believe it is a "sin" to play the lottery. BUT---some believe dancing is a sin also---but here comes David dancing before the ark of the covenant. I would never try to offend anyone.

Just wanted to see what unites us instead of divides us. Thanks for all your responses. Whatever they may be. I apologize in advance if you find the question offensive.

  • If you won the lottery would you give to help mankind?

Sometimes there are stories of people who win the "lottery" and they choose to spend it on new cars, clothes, homes, etc. I understand that. Is there any organization that has made an impact in our society that you might feel compelled to give to---do you investigate and donate or do you just keep it all? After all, the scriptures do say there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ. So, would you feel guilty if you decided to keep it all or would you feel like there is something you could do with some of the money that would benefit others?

  • Do you have a favorite charity? Are you a supporter with your finances as well as your heart?

There are so many worthwhile causes to catch our attention. Do you have any opportunities to meet needs? Which needs do you find gain your attention and your heart? Do you help to finance any organizations geared toward meeting people's needs? Do you have any scriptures that you use to validate your belief that you SHOULD not MUST---help others?

  • Zounds people---can anyone find ONE INSTANCE in any of my answers when I have been homophobic?

It seems odd that people think I am a "fundie" (which of course I am---but they don't have a clue what that means to me. Some people think I am "homophobic" which I am NOT. If anyone can find one instance in any of my answers which states homosexuals cannot be saved---show me---and I will give you the 10 points and post this question 10 more times and give you the best answer for each one. Problem is---I have never CONDEMNED anyone for their lifestyle. Check my answers for yourself. And---it is AMERICA---Freedom of Speech and Religion---not freedom FROM SPEECH AND RELIGION. You guys who posted ugly stuff---like you deserve it and gtfo----ought to be ashamed of yourselves. :-)

    GOD BLESS AMERICA ANYWAY!!!!!

  • WHAT DOES GTFO MEAN? I don't have a clue!!! ;-)?

I just received an email from a fellow named AARON. and his details are this: About me: My interests are world issues, politics and football. I also like to travel and see new places and different cultures.

I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. I'm an atheist, I'm a liberal and I'm a Democrat.

His response to one of my answers was this:

    Subject: GTFO.

    Message: Homophobic bigot.

    You are a homophobic bigot.

GET OUT OF AMERICA. We have separation of church and state here. The years of the Christian right is long over. You're finished.

Does anyone else think he was being rude beside me? Just wondering.

  • There were thousands of college students in Mexico for Spring Break---Many came home with influenza?

Here are some facts about the virus and flu viruses in general:

    * The virus is an influenza A virus, carrying the designation H1N1.

    * It is genetically different from the fully human H1N1 seasonal influenza virus that has been circulating globally for the past few years. The new flu virus contains DNA typical to avian, swine and human viruses, including elements from European and Asian swine viruses.

    * Flu viruses mutate constantly, which is why the flu vaccine is changed every year, and they can also swap DNA in a process called re-assortment. Most animals can get flu but viruses rarely pass from one species to another.

    * From December 2005 through February 2009, 12 cases of human infection with swine influenza were confirmed, all but one among people who had contact with pigs. There was no evidence of human-to-human transmission.

    * Symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to those of seasonal influenza — sudden onset of fever, coughing, muscle aches and extreme tiredness. Swine flu appears to cause more diarrhea and vomiting than normal flu.

    * People rarely catch avian flus. Notable exceptions include the H1N1 strain that caused the 1918 pandemic and H5N1 bird flu, which has killed 257 out of 421 infected in 15 countries since 2003, according to the World Health Organization.

    * Seasonal flu kills between 250,000 and 500,000 people globally in an average year.

    * When a new strain of flu starts infecting people, and when it acquires the ability to pass from person to person, it can spark a pandemic. The last pandemic was in 1968 and killed about a million people.

    * In 1976 a new strain of swine flu started infecting people and worried U.S. health officials started widespread vaccination. More than 40 million people were vaccinated. But several cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a severe and sometime fatal condition that can be linked to come vaccines, caused the U.S. government to stop the program. The incident led to widespread distrust of vaccines in general.

Do you think this information will help people to overcome the panic they feel? Why? Why not?

  • There were hundreds and thousands of college students in Mexico for spring break?

Do NOT worry about this outbreak until it is absolutely necessary. I cannot believe how many people are panic stricken already. Let me give you some information about flu that may help you get through this.

Do you think this information will help some of you calm down and not be as anxious? Education is the best way to fight this disease right now.

  • First---suspend your belief---or disbelief and answer this question honestly. No wrong answers?

What do you think HEAVEN will be like? Suspend your disbelief. This is just an exercise in pure speculation, fantasy, expectation, etc. Some may think it will be boring (As did Mark Twain) while others think it is nothing more than sitting on a cloud eternally. What do YOU think heaven will be like? (you really don't need to believe in heaven to answer the question. Secularists and humanists are often quoted as saying "oh, that would be heavenly.") Again, no wrong answers

  • What is the only book in the Bible that never uses the word LOVE?

And why do you think it doesn't use the word LOVE in the book. The entire Bible is a love story. So how come the omission?
