  • Baroness Thatcher's dead. What music should I be listening to?

I've had Billy Bragg, The Smiths / Morrissey and The Exploited on high rotation. Any other good suggestions?

  • When cleaning my son's bedroom recently, I found some disturbing items. What should I do?

Next to some personal lubricant was a small battery-powered egg on a string, and another item that I believe is designed for male use, not female. There were also two magazines showing men posed explicitly. My son plays football for his college and I know for a fact that one of his friends, on the same team, is gay.

Obviously, my son's been storing these items for his friend, as his friend has very strict and religious parents who would not approve of his homosexuality. While I don't approve either, I at least accept that that troubled young man is a good child at heart. I don't approve of my son assisting his friend in deceiving his parents, however, and want to raise the issue with him. Should I be up-front or subtle in asking him to get his friend to take back his items?

  • I'm concerned that my son has a secret girlfriend?

My 17 year old son has been very secretive with me lately, recently he has started to refuse to go to church with the family and tonight when I was going through his room I found a magazine with naked men in it. He obviously has a girlfriend that he is hiding from me that brought that magazine into my home and I am afraid they are having intercourse and I am greatly concerned that he is going to get her pregnant.

What should I do about this?

  • Would you define this behaviour as electoral bribery?

There's a candidate for local council in the elections in Moreland, Melbourne, who's offering a free loaf of bread to the first 100 pensioners who come and hear him speak this thursday, 2 days before the election.

It's not happening on the day of the election, or at a pre-polling booth.

I think this is a bribe, pure and simple. Do you see shades of grey here?

  • Apologiews to P. J. O'Rourke - a joke that defines the Australian people?

Bruce came up to his bride Sheila one morning.

"I'm feeling toey, Sheila. Howzabout we have a bonzer fight?"

    "I can't, Bruce. I'm feeling tapped - I've got my period."

"What the bloody hell's that, Sheila?"

"You know - On the Rag? Red Sails in the Sunset? Freddie's visiting?" Noting Bruce's vacant expression, Sheila sighed, dropped her shorts and showed him her bloody pad.

"Jesus!" exclaimed Bruce, shocked. "No wonder you're bleeding - some bastard's come along and cut your c*ck off!"

  • Apologies to P.J.O'Rourke - A joke that defines the Swedish people.?

Bjorn & Annika get married & invite all their friends back to their apartment after the civil ceremony. The schnapps is simply being guzzled, and the mood is satisfyingly ambivalent.

Bjorn gets caught up with some mates for 20 minutes or so, losing Annika & his best man, Sven. He has an insight into the Finnish economy he simply MUST share with them, so he goes looking for them.

He & his entourage come across them having languid sex on the marital bed. Bjorn turns to the other partrygoers & says

"Ha! Sven's so drunk, he thinks he's me!"

  • Why can't the Victorian Greens get seats in Parliament?

The Victorian Greens (Australia), in tonight's election, were variously tipped to win 2 lower house seats and 4 upper house seats. It now appears, after a shitty preference choice by the Libs, that The Greens won't win a single seat.

Whay can't the Greens win a seat, and what the he*l is wrong with the people who vote for fascists?
