  • Which job would you take?

I have two offers from the same university, in different departments. Offer 1 is in the School of Medicine, and I will be a administrative associate. I will support the Division Chief, tasks include 50% grant submitting, 30% general office duties, and 20% travel/meeting arrangements. I will be working in an office by myself with the division chief. The office is pretty isolated, very quiet. Offer 2 is at the School of Education, and I will be an Academic Services Specialist. I will be in charge of course scheduling, enrollment reports, event planning (commencement ceremonies, recruitment..ect), and also day to day office support. Here I will be working with many people in an office, the environment is fast paced and loud.

Both jobs have similar pay and benefits.

I am graduating college in about 3 weeks. As a young college grad that is just starting out, which job would have better potential?

  • Is my GPA good enough for a top Graduate school?

I have a 3.63 cumulative GPA for the last 90 units (grad school gpa requirement is only for last 90 units). I didn't have the best GPA my freshman and sophomore year, but I've been getting straight A's this year so it's really pulled my GPA up. I'm also graduating 3 quarters early!

I planning to take the GRE soon, for grad school in public administration, or related field.

Is my GPA good enough for a top grad school, say University of Southern California? I'm graduating from University of California Davis (top 15 public schools in US)

  • What do you wear to a upscale club?

My friend got a VIP room at a upscale club in San Francisco for her birthday, and i have NO idea what to wear!!

I have a red dress, a purple sweater dress that I can wear with black leggings and boots maybe, and the usual jeans and sexy top.

I know I'll be freezing in the red dress, since it's November. And I also don't want to upstage my friend who is the birthday girl! The sweater dress is cute, it has a plunging V-neck, a little shorter than knee lenght, would be cute with tights and boots (but maybe i would be wearing too much clothes to a club, and not enough skin?), and then there is the basic jeans and sexy top.

    What should I wear??

  • GPA from different schools?

I'm a student at UC Davis, with a GPA of about 3.2. I got sick and withdrew for 5 quarters, but took classes at a junior college for 2 of those quarters. So, I got straight A's at the junior college. However, UCD only counts the credits you received in the junior college and not the grade points! With the A's I got at the junior college, that would boost my GPA to almost 3.4. Is it possible to tell a future employer, that my College GPA was 3.4, although my UC GPA is closer to 3.2?

    Just wondering..

  • Did I ruin my Tulips by cleaning too much?

I ready somewhere that after your tulips stop flowering and the leaves die, to dig up the bulbs. After digging up, I hear that you have to take off the old roots, and remove the old skin from the bulb. I did this, but I think I took off too much skin from the bulb, leaving it pretty much just white without the protective skin on it.

Will my tulips bloom again? Or did I ruin the bulbs by cleaning too well?

The bulbs are stored in the garage, in an onion bag.

The only thing is that the color, RED, is a little formal looking? Where can I wear a comfy cotton RED dress without looking overdressed? I'm talking about normally, everyday.. not at a formal dinner or something. Can I wear this dress..shopping? going to dinner? to class?

How can I dress it down?

  • Only 10 days in Europe, want to go to Italy and France.?

My family and I only have 10 days to spend in Europe (with limited budget). I would really love to spend time in Italy, seeing Florence, Venice, and Rome. Possibly parts of the Italian coast. I also speak a little French, and really want to see Paris. Do we have time to fit these in?

Also, how do you recommened we travel to and from these cities? Is it possible to drive w/ a rental car and US driver's lisence? Also, if we drive from Italy to Paris, where and how do we find small inexpensive hotels or Bed&breakfasts along the way?

  • Going on Vacation, dog at home with close friend OK?

My family and I are leaving on vacation for 5 days. My mom's close friend is coming over to our house a few hours each day to play with our dog, feed her, water the plants..ect. Pretty much a house sitter. My mom's friend has house sit/dog sit for us before, and my dog likes her. Theres never been any problems.

We don't want to leave her in a kennel because we're sure she would HATE being in such a unfamiliar, small, confined space. We don't have family or friends near by who can take her into their homes, or can come stay in ours for 5 days. So, I think the best option is for my mom's friend to come over an hour or so each day, to let my dog run around the backyard, give affection, and food. Ideally, it would be better if someone can stay over the whole time, or if we can drop her off at a friend's house but that's not an option =((((. Anyways, does anyone else do this? I just don't know what other options I have.

I'm so attached to her, but she likes the lady, so I hope its OK!

  • Making new friends?

I've taken some time off college for the last few quarters, and now all my friends have pretty much graduated. The remaining ones are heavy partiers who don't have their act together. I want to meet some new "quality" friends before I graduate, but I only have 9 or so months left of school. What can I do to meet so quality ppl? I'm not super religious, so I don't know if church is the right place for me.

  • Summer style staples!?

What are some staples for great summer style? I'm looking for moderately priced pieces that are versatile and chic. I'm looking for a somewhat more conservative/feminine style: not into flassy blingy stuff lol, or the abercrombie teen look. I'm in my early 20's, looking for a little bit more mature style than what I usually wear in college! (aka flip flops and t-shirt!)

pictures would be awesome! skirts, dresses, cardigans, give me a sexy feminine outfit!

  • What kind of tree is this?

I have a tree in my backyard, but we have no idea what kind of tree it is, we're assuming its a fruit tree because the previous owners said it was and there are little fruit bulbs on the tree.

Some facts are: We live in California, the tree blooms white flowers about the same time as our apple tree did, so about in March. The leaves are fuzzy, about 3 inches long, simple and not lobed, double teeth all about the same size, stem about 1/3 length of leaf and a little shorter than width of leaf, veins are curved and all about same size with little veins all over, and has longer tip. Here are some pictures:

  • What kind of fruit tree is this??

I have a tree in my backyard, but we have no idea what kind of tree it is, we're assuming its a fruit tree because the previous owners said it was and there are little fruit bulbs on the tree. The actual tree was diseased when we first moved in, so my dad chopped it down. Then a few years back branches started growing out of the trunk. We tied a few of the larger branches together, and now its a new tree. Since it's still young, there are only a few fruit bulbs on there.

Some facts are: We live in California, the tree blooms white flowers about the same time as our apple tree did, so about in March

    my question is

    1) what kind of tree is this?

    2) how long will it take to bear more fruit?

  • How to make this red cotton dress look casual?

I got this super cute cotton jersey dress in red. I wanted to get a more summery color, like aqua or yellow but the colors didn't look very good on my skin tone. The red can look so sexy, but cute too. I know I can definitely wear it to a party or something.. but what can I do to make it look more casual? I want to be able to wear it just shopping or going to dinner.

the dress looks great with a off white cardigan, but what else can i do?

heres a link to the dress:

  • Interview questions HELP! Recent college grad?

So I've gone on a few interviews lately and one question I always have a hard time on is "Describe a challenging project you have done in school, and how you overcame the challenge?" or "what is something you learned in school that can help you in the workfoce?"

I went to a good school, but I honestly don't remember a challenging project that I had to overcome.. (mostly just writing papers and such)

And I guess for the second question, I could say that "while in school I learned the importance of time management. For example, I create a weekly schedule and to-do list for myself, making sure I do all my work on time, which helped me excell in my classes"
