  • A question for atheists. all welcome to answer however.?

If there were a politician, or political party who promised to outlaw religion, would you vote for them?

Assuming you agree broadly with their other policies, and knowing that the religious faithful would be truly oppressed should this person win the election.

If you are a Theist, would you vote for someone who would outlaw atheism and other religions? same assumptions apply.

  • Christians, were there any Atheists protesting outside your church this morning?

If your answer is no, can you explain to me why christians are always claiming that we Atheists are trying to suppress them?

  • Why do the religious people claim they have evidence for the existance of God?

They are always claiming to have evidence, but they can never show it to us.

And then, even worse, they claim there is no evidence for evolution, yet when they are shown that evidence, they ignore it, and pretend it doesn't exist.

    Crazy huh?

  • Is It True Scientology Was Started For A Bet?

People have been saying for years now that L. Ron Hubbard started scientology because he made a bet that he could start a religion. Is this actually true or just an urban myth?

I really want it to be true, but I've never actually seen any evidence that it is, and as a good Atheist, I really have to demand evidence before I can take the idea seriously.

I mean real, verifiable evidence, not anecdotal, or "It's written down somewhere so it must be true", You know, the sort of crap Christians use to prove Jesus existed.

  • Questions for people who think Homosexuality is unnatural?

When you are hungry, do you go and kill an animal and eat it raw, or open a packet and cook the contents?

When you need to poo, do you go and squat behind a bush, or go and sit on the lavatory and wipe afterwards, not forgetting to wash your hands.

When it gets dark at night, do you find a nice place to sleep, or switch the lights on and carry on with your day?

When you are ill, do you curl up and die, or go see a Doctor?

  • Christians, do you agree with this statement?

    All love is good.

    All hate is bad.

If you don't agree, why not?

  • How long before Christians claim Anders Breivik is an Atheist?

Like they do with Hitler. Is it that they find it difficult to believe that a Christian could so something so evil.

  • Are people who believe in Astrology a bit thick?

It often seems so, given how many questions about astrology turn up in the Astronomy and space section, rather than here in the Entertainment section.

And they always seem to get offended when their mistake is pointed out to them, and people who actually know about the night sky tell them what a load of old superstitious nonsense Astrology actually is..

I do know that Yahoo's suggested categories often place questions in the wrong section, but it got this one correct, and astronomy and space wasn't even in the list so people must be putting their questions in there on purpose

  • A question for gay guys, sorry, about this!?

Erm, Awkward question, but I have to ask,

Do sexually active gay guys loose the ability to do loud farts? I don't mean to be rude or anything, but I just wondered if this is true, or just an urban myth. I suspect it's not true, but thought I'd ask the people who would know.

  • Am I right, or is this a gross oversimplification?

Reading Q&As here in the R&S section, It seems that many people have an objection to the Big Bang Theory on the grounds that "something cannot come from nothing".

It seems to me, that no scientists have ever claimed that it did all come from nothing, more along the lines of "everything came from something which we don't yet quite understand, but we are working on it, so check back later, and we might have an answer for you."

Religious people, Bible literalists, Creationists and the like, on the other hand, DO claim that everything came from nothing. They claim that God made the universe, just for us (how arrogant is that!?) and everything is perfect, which is all well and good, but,

Where did all the matter in the universe actually come from? Are we supposed to believe that God just waved his magic wand and it all just popped into existence exactly as it is today? Really? If you read a fictional book that used that as a storyline, you would think its too far fetched to be believable. And that's without asking the obvious question of "where did God come from?"

I may be an Atheist, but I generally have no problem with peoples religious beliefs, but this is just absurd. In the 21st century, how on earth can people believe this crap?

  • Are Catholics Christians?

I have recently seen many people on here and other websites claim that the Catholic Church is not a Christian religion.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong, as the Catholic church claims to have been founded by Jesus Christ, and defines its mission as spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How do people who claim Catholics aren't Christians justify this claim?

  • Urgent iPhone help needed!?

My friend has just bought an iPhone.

How do I get him to stop constantly going on and on about his apps?

Seriously, it's getting very boring now. No one cares, yet it's all he talks about.

I'm due to meet him in the pub later tonight, and I'm not sure I can maintain my self control, and I am worried I will do somthing I later regret.

Please help before I loose all hope.

  • British GP friday testing busy?

I'm going to Silverstone tomorrow to watch the test sessions,

Does anyone know how busy it will be there? I've been on race day before and it was so packed you could hardly move, and I'd much rather watch it on the telly.

I'm imagining it will be a lot quieter on friday, (the crowds, I mean, not the cars)

    Am I right?

  • would you vote "none of the above"?

None of the main political parties have any substance behind them any more. Labour are a corrupt, spent force, the Tories seem weak, they should have a huge lead in the polls, but don't. The libdems are a joke. UKIP and the BNP are fringe nutters gaining ground fast.

Voter apathy is at an all time high because of this. The next general election is likely to have the lowest voter turnout in history, so the winner of the election is going to have only a small percentage of the vote overall.

Would you support a "none of the above" campaign, to get people into the polling booths, but instead of voting, write "none of the above" on the ballot paper. This will spoil the vote, and be recorded as such in the count. Enough people doing this would be a clear signal to politicians that we are no satisfied with any of them, and huge changes need to be made to the system. Just not bothering to vote can be put down to apathy, but spoiling the ballot paper shows it's not just laziness.

  • Isn't it about time we did somthing about the price of fuel? (uk)?

Petrol now costs around £1.15 per litre around here, which is just ridiculous. As far as I can tell, no one seems to be questioning this.

With a general election around the corner, could this be the right time to make a fuss over this?

What sort of things should we do?

  • Are Ferrari really all that important?

I've been following F1 for years now, and in all that time it has been suspected that Ferrari have been given an unfair advantage over the other teams. Its well known that Ferrari seem to have more leverage with the FIA than they should do.

I'm forever hearing people say "No ferrari, no F1", but is that really the case? Surely they are just one team, and no more important than the likes of Honda, who no one seems to care about now.

I think F1 would survive, and thrive without the stroppy ferrari team, what do you think.

  • Anyone know any good bike websites?

Does anyone know any good websites for mountain bikes? I'm after maintenance and repair advice, and product reviews and so on. Preferably independant, enthusiast run, rather than sites owned by a magazine or shop.

U.K. based would be best, but anything interesting would be good.
