  • I am having problems with my new LED TV and Blue-Ray player.?

My new LED TV seems a little choppy when watching a HD TV broadcast. The quality is excellent. Is this normal?

Also, when playing a non-Blue -Ray DVD through my Blue-Ray system, it will stop half way through the movie and freeze the picture. Nothing I do will get it to go past this point.

If I put the disk in a standard DVD player, the movie does not freeze. This has happened on only two disks so far but I never know when I start a movie if it will do it again.

  • Is it cheaper to buy Las Vegas show tickets there or before leaving?

I want to take in a couple of shows while in Vegas but not sure if it is cheaper to buy them through a travel agent before leaving or waiting until I arrive there. Also, is it cheaper to buy on line or at the hotel where the show is playing?

  • Can I sign up with a USA satellite TV provider and use their equipment outside the country?

I see lots of satellite dishes on homes in Canada with Direct TV printed on them. Are they getting Direct TV by using a post office box in the States and paying for their monthly service? Will the Satellite provider accept this type of deal?

  • Do Pot Lights last as long as they advertise?

We have 24 pot lights in the basement and 6 in the kitchen. The basement ones are 12 volt, the kitchen are 120 volts. I am always changing bulbs in both areas. Has anyone else had the same problem with the bulbs burning out so often? I had the power checked and everything is fine. Table lights throughout the house never fail. Are we being lied to about the hours these bulbs last?

  • Is John Tory the best Mayor Toronto never had?

Anyone who listens to the John Tory's radio program each weekday afternoon knows he is a person who understands everyday problems and tries to speak the truth. This is a mayor fault of anyone seeking public office. The name of the game is votes. Find out what the people want and pretend you will give it to them. The Liberals did it with their promise not to raise taxes. Look what happened there. John Tory may have been a great Mayor but unfortunately we will never know for sure.

  • What did you think of the 2010 Olympic's opening show?

I thought the second part was very well presented but much too much of the show was spent on the Native Canadians. Yes, Canada is a melting pot of various nationalities but instead of trying to be politically correct, more could have been spent showing the best qualities of the country as a whole. What have the natives done for Canada in our lifetime. Every Canadian has a past but most have moved on with their lives. Projecting the natives as a happy people to the world, is only a lie.

  • Has anyone actually lost weight with the Acai Berry Diet?

I see several websites claiming weight will drop off with the Acai Berry Diet. If it sounds too good to be true..it probably is. If you tried this diet, did it work?? How much weight did you loose and did you have to work at it?

  • Should unionized school teachers take over Ontario Kindergarden?

In Ontario presently non-unionized personnel teach Kindergarden. Now there is a move to have only professional(read Union) teachers take their place. Anyone willing to let this happen will be faced with a strike each time their contracts are renewed. Are parents willing to let this happen and are they willing, once again, to take time off work to watch their children while unionized personnel walk a picket line. After the Toronto garbage strike you would think Ontario would finally smarten up.

  • Is Mayor Miller scamming Toronto?

Miller is now saying "Enough is enough" to the Union. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. How many times did he give in to their demands and raise Toronto taxes to find the money? No matter what happens, he has himself to blame for most of this situation. Unfortunately thousands of part time workers in Toronto will suffer for months because of his inability to lead and say no.

  • Is there too much gloom and doom in the media?

It's impossible to turn on the radio and TV, or read a newspaper without hearing about the financial meltdown of the world economy. Many people I speak with restrict their radio listening only to music stations and some are considering cancelling their newspaper. Do you feel the media has gone too far with it's reporting and should include some good news for a change?

  • Is it time to be politically correct?

Christmas is almost here. How soon will we hear about someone being offended when we wish them a Merry Christmas or put up a Christmas tree? Not very long I'll bet. This one of our traditions. Do you think we should change it?

  • Would you return a bag of money?

  • Why has LCBO not dropped their prices?

We were told that because LCBO stock was purchased when our dollar was low, they could not drop prices until new stock is purchased. Food prices have dropped due to a strong dollar and competition from superstores such as WalMart. LCBO prices remain the same if not more. Where is the reduction in price and when will we see it? Once again the consumer takes the hit.

  • Should employees be forced to take their vacation?

Taking a holiday seems to be more of a pressure than enjoyment. How important is it to you to take time off? Do you take all your vacation time or the money at the end of the year? Are you afraid of what you will find when you return? Does your company encourage their employees to take holidays?

  • Are we forced to visit doctors in Ontario too often?

For thirty years I have had high blood pressure. I take the minimum dose of medication each day but the doctor will not prescribe more than three months of pills. So every three months I make an appointment, have a machine take my blood pressure and get a new prescription. As my condition has not changed in thirty years, why do I have to visit the doctor so often? Does anyone else believe OHIP is being overcharged due to situations like this?
