  • Excel question - convert a date to text?

I have a date (example: 10/26/2008) that I want to change to text and return Oct - 08 (as text, not just formatted date field). Note: no day, just month and year.

  • Excel "concatenate" question.?

In cell A1 "Exceeding our target of"

Note: only the word target is BOLD.

The formula in cell B1 =Concatenate(A1,A2)

  • Excel cell format question?

I have several hundred cells where the cells were imported into excel as text but look like a date (03/13/2008).

I've formatted the cells to be a date, but I have to double click or f2 (edit the cell) on each cell before the cell is updated to be an actual date and not text.

How can I update each cell without having to edit each cell, one at a time.

Can I create a macro where I could hi lite a group of cells and the macro would double click each of the cells in the hilited area?

I'm so proud, I can barely stand it.

I want to give him a special gift but I'm drawing a blank.

Adoption on Wednesday, Graduation on Saturday....I'm a little overwhelmed..

    Any idea?...thanks in advance.

  • A Memorial for a co-worker?

He was a very kind and well liked man. He ran a manufacturing plant and was respected by everyone that worked with him and for him. I would like to recommend to the company, that we plant a tree on the company property as a memorial.

I would like to add a plaque with a qoute...but I can't think of a good one. Something sort and sweet.

Does anyone have any ideas for a qoute, or other ways an entire manufacturing company can say good bye?

  • Toilette doesn't fully flush.?

The toilete doesn't siphon when flushing.

I've rebuilt the guts, put on a new wax seal. New gaskets on the tank. Ran a snake down drains. and checked out the venting.

I'm not on a spetic system, but I do have a lift pumping station and that is working.

    What am I missing?

I have 3 vent pipes, one off the toilette, one off the bathtub, and one off the main drain line before it leaves the house. As I mentioned, I checked the toilette vent pipe, if the one off the main was blocked, would that effect the toilette?

  • Microsoft Excel files becoming corrupt?

Has anyone heard of this before?

I created a large excel file for the company I work for. It is filled with formulas to aid in complex pricing senarios.

This file has been opened and saved hundreds of times and has been used as the master copy for hundreds of "Saved As" copies.

We just started hitting a problem were files can not be opened or fixed by excel.

The files seem to have some kind of internal clock that is counting down everytime the file is saved and closed, or copied. From the testing I've done, I've been able to repeat and predict when the file will fail.

Is this a Bug/Virus or setting?

  • Cordless Drill?

I have a Bosch 12V cordless drill. The drill came with 2 batteries. Both batteries have not been holding a charge.

I have the choices of buying new batteries @$50-$70 each, Have Batteries Plus rebuild the batteries for $40 each.

Or trash the drill and buy a new 14V for around $200.Do you have anyother ideas? Which choice would you go for.

P.S. I do like this drill.

  • Have you ever seen the spirit of a person that was not dead?

My great grandmother claimed to have been visited by a woman in white, in spirit form. She was very beautiful and gave her a feeling of peace. She died a few days later. My grandmother was also visited by this woman in white shortly before she past away. It happened the same night that I was awoken from a deep sleep. A figure stood in my bedroom, by the door, looking at me. My room was ice cold and I was so startled and scared, I was paralized. The room was totally dark and I could not see my hand in front of my face. Yet, I could see her perfectly. She was dressed in all white but it was not a strangers face, it was my grandmother. I had a strong feeling that she was telling me, for some reason, that everthing was going to OK. Then she drifted acrossed the room, thru the wall and was gone.

I didn't tell anyone because if didn't make any sense.

Can you be visited by a spirit of a person that has not died?

Or, did the spirit take on her looks?
