  • is this a bit distasteful of a magazine?

i took a subscription to pfk costing £52 on the understanding that i would receive an external filter as a free gift.the mags arrived and the filter did,nt.on enquiry i was told they had run out but i could have 3 free issue instead worth £12-30 as against £70 plus free filter..er!!! good deal for who? anyone suffered this way?

  • can a magazine do this legally?

i needed a new fishtank filter and my noticed pfk were giving an external filter as a gift[worth £70 plus] if you took out a subscripton for the mag, costing £52.although we thouht that was expensive the free gift swayed us and duly paid and started to receive said mag,but no filter. After contacting them three times the reply came as follows-sorry the pump offer was over subscribe but we will substitute the gift for another-- 3 FREE MAGS WORTH £12 -30.as the pump was the deciding factor of us buying in the first place, this is a disgusting turn about and dirisery offer--do i have any legal recourse because it is now more about ethical trading than the money[though that does matter as we are both on a gov.pension]
