A question about ovarian cysts.?
I had an ultrasound done a little while ago and was diagnosed with PCOS. My doctor gave me birth control to help regulate my periods, when I went to get the birth control I also ordered my ultrasound results. There was a lot of terms on there I didn't understand but there was one that caught my eye: Septation cyst. I got curious and I looked on the internet but all I keep reading are horrible things like ovarian cancer and the cyst being malignant, I've also read things like the possibility that the cyst could be benign. Now I've got myself worried sick. I've got an appointment with an obgyn on the 27th, I've already made a copy of my results to give to him. I'm just a little worried and I'm wondering if anyone has had a cyst like this and how everything turned out. I'd rather hear a story from someone who has experience with this than a whole bunch of internet explanations that lead me nowhere. Literally they give me all kinds of different answers. I'm trying to look on the bright side and think logically, like wouldn't they've rushed me into surgery or an emergency room if it was serious?
7 AnswersWomen's Health10 years agoI guess I just need some closure on this?
There has been this problem that's been bugging me. It's a LONG story so I'll just start from the beginning. I noticed something strange when I wasn't having a period. 2 months went by and I wasn't having one. I assumed that maybe I was pregnant. I took a test and it came back negative so I decided to go to the doctor to see if something wrong was going on with my female parts. I went to the doctors, they tested me with a urine sample and it came back negative. They then suggested that it was my weight and put me on this diet. I was on the diet for a few months. It seemed to work. I was putting on weight and was very happy about the accomplishments I was making. I was in Missouri but was going to Michigan for a few months so the doctor wanted to see me one more time before I went back. So I went in and she did blood work. They tested my hormone levels and to see if I was pregnant (yet again). Everything came back normal and I wasn't pregnant. I was actually kind of sad. I was actually hoping that they would've found something. Proof that I wasn't going insane. I threw it all aside to spend one more night with my fiance before I went to Michigan for a few months. We had sex that night. We used a condom and we checked it and everything seemed normal. That was May 30th. Now fast forward to the middle of June. I started having strange cravings. I always wanted to eat stuff covered in ranch, mostly mushrooms. I was also spotting. I didn't think anything of it. My friend invited me over to her apartment June 27th. I told her about my symptoms and she told me to buy a test. I didn't want to waste my money on a test that would come back negative but she kept on bugging me and telling me to do it. I gave in and bought a test. I went into the bathroom and laid it on the counter. In less than a minute I was staring at a pink plus sign. I felt weak and shocked. I showed my friend the test and she told me she'd take me to planned parenthood in the morning. I went in and they tested me negative with a urine sample. I told my friend and she told me to buy another test just in case, so I did and low and behold I was staring at another positive. Not only was I angry I was confused. I had one more pregnancy test at my house. I waited like a week from the last positive to take it and it came back negative. I was so confused. I assumed the tests I took were faulty so I just ignored it. I continued to not have a period. I booked an appointment (finally got medical insurance in Michigan) and I told her what was going on. She was concerned with an ectopic pregnancy. She ordered an ultrasound of my uterus, my ovaries and fallopian tubes. They also ordered a blood test. The blood test came back negative and no embryo or anything was found, instead I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was relieved to finally have an answer to my missing periods. About two weeks after the diagnosis I started my period. This period is extremely heavy. I had horrible cramps, I passed clots the size of large soup spoons and the bleeding is just really heavy. I have a box of 40 tampons. I've been bleeding for only 5 days and I've already used up half of that box along with around 4 pads. Now I expect it's heavy because I haven't had one in so long but I asked my doctor what could've caused those positives. She told me that it could've either been faulty tests or a chemical pregnancy. She said that there really is no way to determine if it was or not and that just broke my heart. I've had a miscarriage already and I just feel like if I knew for sure that it wasn't a chemical pregnancy then I would be so much happier. I'm getting on birth control to regulate my periods and help with my cysts and to also prevent something like this from happening again. What I'm wondering I guess is...has anyone for sure had a chemical pregnancy? Did I have one? I'm praying I didn't, that they were just stupid tests that I'll never buy in the future but I just feel like I need to know to provide closure for myself. Is there anyone out there with any guidence for me?
3 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoEquate and false positives?
I took an equate pregnancy test (the pink dye) on sunday and got a positive. I went to planned parenthood on tuesday and got a negative. They said it was more than likely that the test was picking up LH and that I was more than likely ovulating. I was curious so I bought another equate test, (I was kind of low on money) and took it wednesday at 2 in the morning. It came back positive again. I was a little curious and I had a first response early result test at home. I was staying at my friends house at the time but when I got back home on friday I waited till this afternoon to take the first response (I was sleeping all day) I took it and it came back negative. For the equates the positives showed up really quick in less than a minute. This first response negative took like maybe a little over a minute to show up. I'm going to the doctors regardless, but I just feel cheated. I want my money back and I'm just wondering if anyone else has had bad luck with the equate tests?
I know I've already posted in here about the equates but it was before I took the first response, I was wondering then if I could be pregnant, since false positives are extremely rare but now that I've gotten yet another negative I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the equate brand and if it received many false positives.
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years agotwo positives and one negative?
I'm so confused. I took an equate pregnancy test on sunday and it came back positive almost instantly. I was in doubt so I bought two answers tests but I messed them up because I didn't pee on them that well, so I just ignored them and went to planned parenthood today and they tested me negative. They said their tests were 98% accurate while the one I took was 99% accurate. They said it could be because of ovulation that I got a false positive, I bought another test thinking that if that came back negative if I wasn't pregnant this one would too and I wanted to be sure. I took another equate (low on money) and it came up positive almost as fast as the other one did. I did so much research on the internet and they said that usually doctor tests check for higher levels of hormones, while the low brand tests test lower amounts of hcg. I have symptoms of being pregnant. I had light bleeding, slight cramps, strange cravings, heightened sense of smell, frequent urination, and tiredness. I read that ovulation only lasts 24-36 hours so I waited till wednesday to take another test and I'm just so confused I don't know what to do. I looked up the sensitivity of various tests and the equate measures 25 while other brands list 50 to 100 so I'm not sure what to think. Do you think I could be pregnant? I'm not on any hormones by the way.
2 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoLate blood test results? Kind of worried they found something?
I haven't had a period since December 24th, I went into the health care center in March to get checked out, they gave me a urinary pregnancy test that came out negative and then told me that I need to eat more. I thought whatever and went home and started my new high calorie intake diet. I went back May 4th because I still hadn't had it (they told me to come back within 1-2 months) they drew my blood this time. They didn't tell me what they were testing for but after they took my blood they gave me the sheet and hormones LH, FSH, TSH, Prolactin, were tested along with another pregnancy test, this time blood. It'll be 3 weeks tomorrow since I had my blood drawn and I still haven't gotten the results back. They send the blood to a hospital in another town not too far from there. I've gotten blood taken from them in the past and got the results back no later than a week after my blood was drawn. I've had my blood taken loads of times from many different doctors and it has NEVER taken this long to get them back. Even my paps-mere results from them didn't take this long. Maybe I'm just paranoid I don't know. I have HPT's at home but I don't feel like wasting them because I know I'm NOT pregnant. Granted I was having unprotected sex for a few months but after I stopped having periods in December I started using protection and have been ever since. I think that if I was pregnant I would've known by now. I think it has something to do with my hormones. I've always been underweight because of my extremely fast metabolism. I have to consume over 2,000 calories a day just to gain a couple pounds. I've been following their advice and keeping a food diary and writing down all the things I eat and the calorie intake I get (I feel like they are treating me like I'm freaking' anorexic or something). I have been putting on a little weight and my measurements have been getting larger which I am very satisfied about but I was having periods every month till December. If it was because of my "weight" why would it all of the sudden just stop? What I'm asking is does having test results that take a long time to come in mean they have found something and are doing further testing? Or am I just paranoid?
2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoCan't masturbate without being in pain?
I've been having problems with masturbation and I want to know why, my grandma won't take me to the doctor because she doesn't believe it's anything to be concerned about but really it's frustrating. A few days ago I got in the mood so I masturbated, I did clitoral stimulation and I had a great orgasm. I then felt this extreme pain in my lower abdomen and I felt my vagina start to spasm painfully and I felt very weak like I was going to faint. I couldn't even walk the pain was so bad so I laid down for 10 minutes. The pain went away but my vagina was numb. I went to the bathroom and I looked down and there was blood, the blood wasn't in my urine it was competely seperated. It was new blood and I got off my period two weeks before that, I showed my grandma and she agreed that the blood wasn't in my urine either because three drops of it was seperated and other blood circled it. I didn't think much of it because I didn't bleed again. I got stressed a few days later and masturbated again, I was in pain again although the pain wasn't as bad but I still had to lay down and rub my abdomen. This has been happening ever since that day I had that intense pain. I had a few tiny droplets of blood on toilet paper yesterday and it's starting to take a toll on me. I'm moody and stressed because I can't masturbate, whenever I felt this way I'd just release that energy and I'd always feel good but now it's horrible. I freak out over little things, I get mad over little things and It's just stupid and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the fact that I can't masturbate pleasurably anymore or not. I couldn't dig up anything on the internet about an orgasm so big you bled so I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this and if there is anything I can do to fix it?
5 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoPeriods starting to go haywire?
My periods have been extremely weird after getting off birth control. I had a period on the 24th for two months, then a period on the 28th for two months, now I haven't had my period at all this month. I've been protected with condoms and we've checked the condom after we have sex so there were no leaks that way if there were we could rush in and get plan B but we haven't had to bother with that. This month my hormones have been going crazy. I've been masturbating more than normal and have been getting off a lot faster then I used to. For example: a few months ago it used to take me at least 10 minutes to get off now I can get off three times in less then that. I feel slight pains like I'm going to start throughout the days but it goes away within a few minutes and no period comes. I'm not paranoid about being pregnant because I know that's not a possibility right now, could this be the effect of me getting of birth control? If so when will it regulate itself? I would go to the doctors but my grandma is one of those people who won't take me in unless i'm doubled over in pain and I don't have a car anymore so I can't drive there, but if this keeps up I think I'm just going to get my bf's dad to take me in but for now I would like some opinions and some peace at mind. BTW: I'm 19 years old and I started my period when I was 14 and I was on BC for 3 years. I've also ovulated this month so I should be getting it. One month I didn't ovulate and that caused me to be late for 5 days and since I've been ovulating my period has been coming on the days it's supposed to come but now it just stopped.
2 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoAm I ejaculating? I wonder if I finally did it?
Okay so I was getting ready for bed and I was feeling a little down and whenever I feel upset or what ever I masturbate and it makes me feel great after wards, well anyways I was masturbating and when I reached orgasm I had the sensation that I had to go to the bathroom REALLY bad (I always feel this) so I clenched my muscles like I always do and this liquid came out of me and no matter how hard I clenched my muscles it kept on coming out. There was a lot of it all down my legs and on the floor and all over my hands so I examined it because I've heard a lot about female ejaculation and it had this VERY light smell (kind of like a sweet smell, I had to sniff really hard before I could get a scent) to it whilst my urine has a strong disgusting odor. It was clear and when I tasted it, it didn't really have a taste to it. I masturbated about 3 more times to see if it happened again and it did, I kept on clenching as tight as I could but the liquid kept on coming out no matter how hard I tried to hold it back, when I masturbate I can hold it in but this night it was different I just couldn't, am I squirting? I know I may sound stupid but I've never had much luck with female ejaculation I mean I kept on trying and I was really desperate to do it but tonight I just wanted to get off I never really thought about squirting. Sorry for the Parentheses, force of habit.
6 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agowhat's wrong with me?
For almost a week I've been having menstrual cramps and I just thought I was late but I've noticed something else; I've been losing weight, I haven't been eating much and I've been sleeping almost the whole days away. My grandma is very worried and suggests we see a doctor. I told her I was fine but a few hours later I went to the bathroom and I had a little blood on the side of my leg, it was very light and pinkish. I think it's just my period coming but I'm not sure, my period has always been very heavy when it starts and it's always bright red. I know I'm not pregnant I had a successful period last month that was normal. I just don't get why I don't eat a lot anymore and I sleep all day and why I'm having menstrual cramps when barely anythings coming out. I plan to make a trip to a gyno but I was just wondering if anyone thinks there is a simple diagnosis for this?
3 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoWhich Brown hair color?
I have light brown hair and its starting to get blonde tints in it. I don't like it so I want to dye it a different shade of brown. I have nothing against blondes but i just don't think that's the right color for me considering i have a dark complexion *tan runs in the family :)* I don't want my hair so dark that it looks black though. Brown is my ultimate favorite color for hair but with my shade which would look more better? Medium brown or dark chocolate brown? Please I need advice I'm going to get it dyed in a matter of hours.
5 AnswersHair1 decade agoHow to keep my hair straight ALL DAY?
I'm a junior in highschool and knowing i'm an upperclassman now has put some pressure to keep my look almost perfect. There's only one problem....I have wavy/curly hair. I LOVE straight hair i think it makes me look hot and flirty. I get up at 6 A.M every morning for school. I wash my hair, i put a relaxer in it then i blowdry. I heat up my straightner *its the wet to straight from Remington* I put some flat iron spray on to keep my hair from frying. I straighten. I put my make up on and i look totally hot and i love looking at myself in the mirror. I'm so confident when i go to school but when i first get there i look in the mirror and it's all messy and going back to it's wave. I don't like it, that look makes me feel like a girl that never brushes her hair and trust me i brush my hair constently trying to keep it straight and trying not to move as much as possible but it's kinda hard when you got a long driveway and you've got to walk down to the bus stop sometimes. I just don't get it, i've tried a lot of things but they never work. Also i'm getting into Boric's on monday so is there any way they could help me with this problem? either by advising new products or just simply permently straightening my hair so it's straight all the time?
24 AnswersHair1 decade agoWhy is there pressure down by my vagina?
Okay i feel extreme pressure down on my vagina. i don't know why i've been having this feeling for two days now. Sometimes it will get intense and really bad to the point were i cry myself to sleep. When i wake up the pain is gone and then a few mins later it starts up again but not as bad. I'm kind of scared because i looked this stuff up on Ask.com and they've been giving me pregnancy sources and i kind of had sex four days ago. He didn't go all the way inside me, not enough to pop my cherry but he did have a condom and i'm on birth control but i know that dosen't always work so i'm kind of scared. I thought it was just an ovian cyst but i'm not sure...i don't want to be pregnant i'm only 17! please help me.
