Since I took my PSATs, I've gotten lots of emails from colleges requesting me to look at their information and whatnot. But I really don't know much about them.. Are there any colleges/universities on this list that you know any personal information about? Which ones can be considered prestigious or, you know, just 'good.' Which ones aren't? Which ones would be good for someone wanting to major in Political Science / International Affairs? Thank you for any information.

I sort of last minute decided to go to homecoming, and the only dress I own (that I think might work) is this one:

But then I started looking up pictures of homecoming dresses, and it seems like a lot of them are way more, like.... formal..? Like, for example, my best friend is wearing this:

I didn't realize homecoming was that big of a deal.. and mine's tomorrow. I don't want to show up looking like, inappropriately casual, but buying a different dress is kind of implausible. I COULD, but.... I really don't want to.

Keeping in mind that I never wear dresses in/around school, and that people wore camouflage to our last prom, do you think I could dress up this dress enough for it to be homecoming appropriate?

I'm fifteen and I live in WV. I've tried checking out their DOT site, but it's still kind of fuzzy. I know that I have to have my birth certificate and my social security card, but are there any other documents I need? Do I have to get a driver's enrollment form from school just to get my permit?

Okay, so I've been reading up and stuff, but can someone tell me if I have this right? (And I'm not going to be using allll of the products, I just want to make sure..)

My computer decided to go insane (I don't even know how to describe it... everything was black except for the Start button), and so I just did a system recovery (back to 3:00 AM, yesterday). It turned back on, and everything was fine. But then I noticed that it said all of my pictures, documents, downloads, everything was gone. But it's not really gone, because I can start iTunes, and everything still plays (it wouldn't if the music files had been deleted). So where did my files go, and how can I get them back? I just need to hunt them out...

I have a Dell Studio 1558 laptop running Windows 7.

I just got a new straightener, and I've only used it like... four times. Every time I use it, it makes my hair smell like bad eggs or something, especially when I get my hair wet after having straightened it. I don't think I'm burning my hair, per se... my old straightener never did this to me, and nothing's changed except the straightener.

So, like I said, it smells horrible after I get out of the shower. I washed it and tried to put my hair cream/gel/serum junk in it to make it better, and it still kind of reeked. It's so weird, because it got better as it dried, but it still smelled.

I guess what I'm asking is if there is anything I can do to make this stop happening, and why it is happening in the first place. Is it just because my straightener is new? Or am I actually burning my hair? Would getting heat treatment hair stuff make it any better? How can I make my hair quit smelling gross?

Hello. So.. I want to gauge my ears. Right now, i just have regular ear piercings (three on the left, two on the right). Can I even have gauges if I have more than one piercing? Okay, so I downloaded a whole bunch of music, not from iTunes, and somehow the files got deleted off of my computer. They were already synced to my iPod, but now I'm afraid that iTunes is going to take them off my iPod. So, is there any way to get them back? Please and thank you.
