Isn't it crazy? Sometimes the very people you love

the most are the same people you get angry with

the most! I guess this Isn't a surprise to God---as He

inspired people to write scriptures, He made provisions

for the anger that we all deal with from time to time.

God gave us basic principles to help us deal with

anger, and when we violate them, we pay a price.

So, you say, how do I deal with it? Well,

anger is definitely a complex problem, but here's

an approach I use for handling tough situations.

There is a phrase I like that goes like this:

"Thoughts disentangle themselves when when

they pass over lips and fingertips." I suggest

that first we pratice talking to Jesus; second,

talk to a Christlike friend; third, write it down;

and finally, give it back to Jesus. This part of

life is hard, but it's worth it to develops a habit

of dealing with anger in the right way.

By the way, don't EVER just go to sleep

on it. Trust me---------it doesn't work.

When I was in High School, three friends and I decided to see

what is was like to skip school. We had never done anything

like this before, but the idea intrigued us. We agreed a day of

shopping would be just the ticket. Since none of us could drive,

we would take the bus. However, the bus never came, so we

headed to my house. Once we got there, I called the bus line

only to find out that the bus drivers were on strike. There went

our fun day at the mall.

We decided to salvage the day the best we could. Unfortunately,

before we could formulate a plan, we heard my dad unexpectedly

arrive home. "Quick" I whispered. "He can't find us here. Hide in my

closet. He probably won't stay long" Unfortunately, he did stay long,

and the closet seem to grow smaller by the minute--my girlfriends

were furious.

Two hours later, after lunch and several work-related calls, my

father finally left. Not only had we not gone shoppping,the four of us

had spent the entire afternoon crowded in a small, narrow closet, trapped in a LIE. It was a lesson learned the hard way.
