  • If D'oh is now in the Oxford Dictionary, why does Yahoo Answers Spell Checker prompt me to correct it?

And also, it think it's pretty obvious that :) is common usage and not a punctuation error.

  • For what reason do you think Charlie Sheen is awesome?

Clearly he's nuts, but it's still really funny...

  • Toshiba SD800KY - No Audio through HDMI Cable?

I have tried pretty much everything (that I know of) but just can't get the Audio working. Video is fine. Audio works through standard RCA cables. Using in conjunction with Palsonic TFTV81PBHDT with HDMI 1.3 Cable. Have followed all manual directions to the letter multiple times. Can't find any reference on the internet to anyone else having this problem (I have found ppl having other problems that imply that their HDMI is transmitting Audi and Video successfully). The TV has an HDMI channel and a PC channel (as well as two AV channels). The manual says if running PC via HDMI to use the 3.5mm jack for the sound, so I connected the Player via HDMI and the Audio via RCA to 3.5mm jack; picture came through fine on the HDMI channel with no Audio, and on the PC channel the Audio came through fine but no Video. Disconnected all cables save for HDMI, still no Audio. Went through all settings on the TV (there weren't many) and on the Player (also not many) but can not get that Audio to work. At this stage both units are set exactly how the manuals say they should be.

I'm figuring that there is a little setting on one of these units (probly the player) that isn't referenced in the manual. If anyone has had this problem and knows of a possible solution, please let me know.

    Cheers

  • Why does reading in a moving car make some people nauseous?

How common is it? And is there any way to stop it from happening (apart from not reading of course)?

  • Why do truck flash their lights/indicators when overtaking other trucks?

I do a bit of driving from Melbourne to Canberra and have noticed almost every time a truck passes another truck, the passer indicates to move back in to the left lane, but then flashes his indicator right, left, then right again as they've passed and moving back in to the lane.

Also, after the truck has passed, the driver being passed will sometimes (but not as often) flash their lights at the other truck.

Is this a common courtesy, a 'how you going', or a 'thank you'? I'm really interested as to why they do this.

Also, if a car does the indicator thing, would this be considered rude?

  • How unhealthy is it to forcibly skip your period?

My girlfriend occasionally skips her period by not taking the sugar pills in her contraceptive pill dose, causing her body not to menstruate. Logically, I assume that this is unhealthy as it's perverting the bodies natural biology (however, taking the contraceptive pill is too I guess), so my question is, *how* unhealthy is it? Are there any side effects or anything like that? Or is it not unhealthy at all? I'm not to keen on her doing it simply cause of my assumption above, however, it's her body and I have no right to do anything other than voice my opinion (more for health reasons than anything else).

    Anyone know anything?

    Cheers
