ok so today in chemistry, our teacher took exactly 50.0mL of water and 50.0mL of ethanol is two separate graduated cylinders. then, he combined them into a bigger cylinder (lets call it cylinder C), total volume turned out to be 97mL..now logically it should have been 100mL, so how did it turn out to be 97mL?

this is an extra credit question and i was hoping you could help.

my theory is that some water and ethanol were 'stuck' to the original cylinders, and not every single drop was transferred to cylinder C. (is there a specific name for this 'sticking'?)

any suggestions? what do you think? thanks, and any help is appreciated! :)

i have a few questions though. is it ok if i dont use the powdered sugar and sour cream, and substitute the regular whip cream for a light whip cream? and can i use sugar-free jello, too?

and if i make those changes, will the cake still taste good?

also, when it says "1 pkg. (2-layer size) white cake mix", can i use one pkg of the 16 oz angel white cake mix?? will that give me two layers?

hey! well I'm a sophomore in high school, and since like about 10-11 months, I've had a HUGE crush on this one guy. but i never told him that, neither do i talk to him

coincidentally, he is in my chemistry class, and he sits right next to me.

But i think he really hates me...i don't know why. i think he knows i really like him and is trying to avoid me. i mean today when class started, i was sitting next to him. Then, as soon as we were free to do whatever we wanted, he got up and went to like the exact opposite corner of the room!

i haven't even said anything to him..i mean i don't really talk to him because I'm really shy, and partly because i think he really hates me. Plus, i used to see him in the hallways like 3-4 times a day. But recently, i don't see him at all. and im pretty sure he has changed his way to classes just so he can avoid me. I might be wrong, because i don't know for sure....

so what do u think? does he really hate me? if so, then why??? and how do i find out?

I am planning to buy a gps. but i am confused between Garmin Nuvi 350 and Nuvi 660. Amazon.com sells the later for just $60 more than Nuvi 350. (Both 350 and 660 are refurbished) but the question is that is the FM transmitter and the other extra features that 660 has worth spending 60 more dollars?
