Corporate sponsorships is often done in exchange for publicity. In schools this means ads in restrooms, baseball or football fields, uniforms and more. in return schools get funding,receiving necessary things for free or discounted. there are pros and cons to corporate sponsorships. these are some examples.

one pro is exposure, such as a big company sponsors the school, the school will get their name well-known and as a result will have financial success. with exposure comes connections, the sponsor may be able to refer the school to other people and this will help with popularity and sponsorships.

another pro is that sponsorships help schools that lack sufficient funds to relieve their debt and lessen their financial burdens. sponsors also help the school by a tax write-off and reinvestment in the community. some sponsorships support the schools and community, but on the other hand they can do the exact opposite.

there are a few cons to corporate sponsor ships, such as a negative image, not all companies images are acceptable, some companies images may contradict with what the school is trying to convey and might cause a conflict of image. a simple solution is to pick a sponsor that suits the school image. there is also obligations, when a company sponsors someone they often look for something in return. what they look for may be to much for the school to handle.

some sponsors influence children, as a pawin to buy their merchandise. their ads, if published in the school could affect the students in a negative way. the school and community has to choose the sponsors that support and helps them to the best of their abilities.

The pros outweigh the cons. it is better to have sponsors that can be trusted and the students can respect. than to not have any sponsor at all because of being afraid of the obligations or negative images when all the school has to do is pick the right sponsors for their image. the funding, exposure and connecitons is far more important and can help the school in many ways. while not having a sponsor and community has less money. it is more gratifying to have a sponsor that will help the school and community the schools issues.
