  • What makes someone think they are worthless, even if they really aren t?

I have a best friend and she is so kind to everyone. She is patient, wants to help, volunteers, treats everyone with love and kindness, and get s A s and B s in school.

However, she is in therapy because she is a cutter and feels like she is worthless all the time.

How could someone like her, who is popular and people aspire to be like, feel worthless?

  • Why do you think people put off writing, even if they really want to be a writer?

You always hear people say "Oh I have this great idea of a story!" and when you ask them if they have started writing on it yet, they're always saying something like

"I just don't have the time"

"I get too distracted on my laptop when I start writing"

"I'm waiting for the inspiration to come"

    "Writer block"

    Why all the procrastination???

  • Dealing with boyfriend s family? I want them to like me. Tips and Advice?

OK so here is the deal. I am 22 and my boyfriend is 24 and he is recently divorced.

We are getting serious now, so I met his family. All they talked about was how much his ex-wife sucked.

Now I am super paranoid that they are talking bad about me now that I am not there lol.

My anxiety is going into overdrive and I keep thinking thoughts like "What makes me different from her? Will they have their guard up around me because I m the new girlfriend? Do I remind them of her (the ex)?"

I just want to make this an easy transition from him being married, then divorced, dating, and now getting serious again.

My family loves my man and accepts him as a potential future son in law. My family is part of him now, and I just want the same with his family. If we are going to be together (and I feel that he is "it) then shouldn t that include family too?

FYI I have never been married and I have had only one other serious relationship when I was 18-20.

  • Would you choose a management position, or a college degree?

I'm 21 years old and I am in my local community college right now. I take a mix of online/in person classes, and I also work full time at McDonald's.

I'm working my way up as a supervisor right now (I'm training), and I think I have the potential to be a manager.

However, that means putting college on hold. I'm already struggling. I used to have a 4.0 but now its dropped to a 2.7. There were two semesters where I only took 6 credit hours (I usually take 12) so now I'm basically a year behind. I have two more semesters and then I can transfer to the local university to get my BA.

Sometimes I don't think I can handle working at McDonald's. I get paid more than a lot of people would think, so I'm able to save up for things like a new car, but that money feels trash. I honestly think I would be happier making 10 bucks an hour doing something I love, versus what I make now and hating it.

Any advice? What would you do?

  • For my birthday I'm getting my very first manicure tomorrow. Should I get gel or acrylics?

Price isn't an issue, and neither is getting to the salon in case one breaks or whatever and I need to get it fixed.

    However,

I do work at McDonald's at counter and drive-thru, so I do work with my hands a lot. For that reason alone, I'm not sure which one to get.

  • Will I be able to work out at Navy A School?

I'm a female and on some forums I've read that a lot of females gain weight during A School. If it's muscle, awesome. However, if it's fat then no bueno.

I am prone to gaining weight it all goes to my butt and thighs. I don't want to go to bootcamp and get fit, and then end up losing it all as soon as I get out.

Will I have any free time of my own after duties and studies to where I can still workout?

My favorite exercises are running and weight lifting and I also do Wii Fit an hour before bed to wind down (yoga, balance, strength training).

  • How do I lose 2 pounds per week based on this diet, and have some muscle? This girl wants to join the Navy?

I am a teen female, 5"5, and weigh 210 pounds. I don't want to just be skinny I need muscle too!

Starting today, I gave myself one year (1/15/14 to 1/14/15) to get down to 125 pounds.

My goal is to join the Navy. For my height and gender, the maximum I can weigh is 160. I would actually prefer 125, but its no big deal if I end up at like 140 or 145, as long as I'm fit enough to pass Navy PT and be able to join.

I have an elliptical, so I will do that until I get used to exercise and save up enough money for a gym membership. I start working this Monday, so hopefully I will have the money in about a month or two. after a month or two, I will then I will go to my local gym to start lifting weights, swimming, and running.

    I can eat 1200 calories a day.

How many calories do I need to burn through exercising in order to lose 2lbs/week?

  • Is my mom doing nothing actually her supporting me?

I'm 19, still living at home, but I'm receiving my associate's degree this fall while working at a restaurant, so it's not like I'm sitting on my butt with my thumb in my mouth not doing anything. I think I am a good daughter.

However, I have always wanted to join the Navy. It's my secret dream. After trying "real life"out, I have realized that the military is truly my dream, and that I'm not using it as a "cop-out". College has helped me realize that I am smart and capable of hard work. It's just I still want the Navy life.

Once I told her that I made my decision to enlist, she just acts like she doesn't care. I told her I either want a "I'm proud of you" response, or a "What the @&$# are you doing" response. She just said she's going to not interfere and that IS her supporting me, wether I realize it or not.

Am I missing something here? Is neutrality a good form of support, or am I being childish?

  • I made the decision to join the Navy in a year. I have a question about rates?

OK so I am going to talk to a recruiter in a year and sign up as an enlisted. I want to spend this year to lose weight and get in shape. I also want to finish out my Spring and Fall semester for this year.

Here's my question: does everyone go in RTC/bootcamp as an E-1 or can you go in anywhere from an E1-E3? I'm asking this because by the end of this year I'll have 60 college credits, and I know that to be an E-3 you can have 48+ at an accredited school.

So do I go into RTC automatically as an E-1 and after 4 months get promoted to E-3

    OR

Do I go into RTC as an E-3 and stay as an E-3 until I fit the qualifications for E4?

  • Can my exboyfriend legally do this to me?

I never had a cell phone before I started dating him, but he bought me one as a gift so "he could keep up with me". It's the AT&T go-phones. He bought me the $35 phone and the $25 card. While we were still dating, this guy I work with stole that phone from me. So my ex goes and gets me the same exact one, and again, he said I didn't have to pay him back or anything.

When we broke up I gave him the phone back, but now he won't stop sending 50 texts a day saying he wants the money, not the phone, and now he's taking my to court.

Does he have a case or did I do right by giving him the phone back?

  • Where do I go for help? Suicidal thoughts?

I'm 19 with no health insurance, and I've tried talking to my mom but she says I have no excuse to feel this way.

I am doing pretty good if you were looking on the outside. I'm in college with a 3.7 GPA and I have a part time job and friends. But I have this constant ideation of suicide.

Now I have insomnia and I just hate everything.

Where do I go for help? A doctor?

  • Do you vote according to party loyalty, or who is truly the better candidate?

I'm a registered Independent, because I have views that line up with both parties. I vote left when it comes to social issues (mainly abortion and gay rights) and right when it comes to economic issues.

Right now, seeing as how the economy is, I feel like it's my responsibility to vote for Romney in this election.

But if I'm being honest, I would more than likely be a solid Republican if they would back off the abortion issue and the gay rights issue. I believe that love is love no matter what gender you are. My problem with the abortion issue with this party is that even in the cases of incest, rape, or if the mother's life is endangered, they think it should be illegal. That's extreme to me. Yeah, it would be nice if everyone would be pro-life, if rape/incest never happened, and every pregnancy was a healthy one, but that's thinking unrealistically. While I think abortion should be a woman's choice, I'm not exactly happy that abortions happen too. Does that make sense?

  • How hard would it be to do this? Moving out?

I'm 18 years old and a student at a community college (only place I can afford to go to for now).

I'm tired of living where I do. The constant fear of being beat/yelled at, drinking, etc. I don't have a car or anything because my mom won't drive me to town to let me get a permit, I don't have friends because they were all scared off/intimidated to stay away from me, and I don't have a job due to the whole car situation. I have to take online classes because I can't drive. So I have no where to stay until I can get on my feet, or anyone to roommate with.

My mom tells me the only way for me to move out is if I get knocked up, draw welfare, and move into goverment assistance housing.

I'm just so sick of everything.

Is it possible for me to get a job (I don't mind biking 10 miles in any weather) that's part time so I can finish school, and try to rent a place??? It can be one room that's a 6x6 I don't care I just need anything--something to give me peace of mind.

I'm the only child and there's no family to help me because they are either dead or live out of state and can't do anything.

  • Are these good tank temps for bearded dragon?

The basking area fluctuates from 100F-105F

    The cool area is 80F-85F

    2 AnswersReptiles9 years ago
  • Is this normal bearded dragon behavior? Just got him literally 3 hours ago.?

I was holding him for maybe 5 minutes and then he closed his eyes and stayed in the same position on my hand. 10 more mins. passed and then all of a sudden he jumps on the floor and runs around. If it wasn't for my sister he would be lost in my closet right now!

He's about 5 inches long and very little.

Do they just jump and run around like crazy? I was told they were calm, tame, and docile pets. Will he calm down as he gets used to his new home and gets petted up?

I won't return him if he's hyperactive he just reallllly scared me lol
