  • melatonin and allergy testing?

I have to have allergy testing done next week. My allergist had me stop all of my antidepressants with the permission of my primary doctor. One of the medications, Trazodon,e helps me to sleep at night. I sleep very well with it. Without I do not sleep well. My sleep is very fragmented when I am unable to take the Trazodone. I may sleep for an hour or two or less at a time and wake up when I don't take it.I am not getting restful sleep and can not continue to function without sleep. I can not take any antihistmaines before the testing and all of the over the counter sleep aids I am aware of have antihistamines in them. Would it be ok to take Melatonin to help me sleep? I don't want to take anything that will interfere with the allergy testing. I have to do something! I have only been 2 days without the Trazodone and I am at my wit's end and extremely irritable since I can't sleep. If it makes any difference, yes I am over 18 (I'm 29) so I would need an adult dose of Melatonin.

I have a problem I have been working on solving for several days but I keep coming up with the wrong answer. IThe question is using Chebyshev's Theorem and the Empirical Rule. I will select a best answer for this question.

A major cab company in Chicago has computed it's mean fare from O'Hare Airport to the Drake Hotel to be $25.79. Based on this information, complete the following statements about the distribution of the company's fare from O'Hare Airport to the Drake Hotel.

a). According to Chebyshev's Theorem at least_______of the fares lie within 3 standard deviations of the mean of $25.79.

b). Suppose that the distribution is bell-shaped. If approximately 95% of the fares lie between $19.69 and 31.89, then the approximate value of the standard deviation for the distribution, according to the empirical rule is _________.

How can I rewrite this paragraph in a different way and still include all of the information that is in the original paragraph?

Pyramids are known to be the final resting places of the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt. The pyramids of Ancient Egypt are a puzzle that modern science has not been able to figure out. The Pyramids at Giza is one of the biggest puzzles that is being studied. Modern science has not been able to solve the mystery of how they were built. There are many theories out there about the pyramids.. Some are very far-fetched such as aliens building the pyramids and some are more logical such as inclined ramps and spiraling staircases.

  • Statistics question? Please help!?

I am taking a quiz for my math class and I need help answering this question:

The breaking strength (in pounds) of a certain new synthetic is normally distributed, with a mean of 115 and a variance of 25. The material is considered defective if the breaking strength is less than 105 pounds. What is the probability that a single, randomly selected piece of material will be defective? (You may need to use the standard normal distribution table. Round your answer to four decimal places.)

I will select a best answer from the answers I receive. You don't have to answer both questions but it would be greatly appreciated if you can answer at least one.

    1. An oil-drilling company knows that it costs $25,000 to sink a test well. If oil is hit, the income for the drilling company will be $425,000. If only natural gas is hit, the income will be $150,000. If nothing is hit, there will be no income. If the probability of hitting oil is 1/40 and if the probability of hitting gas is 1/20, what is the expectation for the drilling company?

  • I really need help on this College Algebra project!!! 10 points for best answer?

I have a paper to write for my online College Algebra class and I am really confused. I have no idea how to get started on this or how to explain it. I really struggle with math so I am having a hard time figuring this out. Can someone please help me on this? The assignment is listed below.

Five (5) years ago, you bought a house for $171,000, with a down payment of $30,000, which meant you took out a loan for $141,000. Your interest rate was 5.75% fixed. You would like to pay more on your loan. You check your bank statement and find the following information:

    Escrow payment $261.13

    Principle and Interest payment $822.84

    Total Payment $1,083.97

    Current Loan Balance $130,794.68

Write a one to two (1-2) page paper in which you address the following:

    Part 1

With your current loan, explain how much additional money you would need to add to your monthly payment to pay off your loan in 20 years instead of 25. Decide whether or not it would be reasonable to do this if you currently meet your monthly expenses with less than $100 left over.

    • (a) Explain your strategy for solving the problem.

    • (b) Present a step-by-step solution of the problem.

    • (c) Clearly state your answer to Part 1. What is your decision?

    Part 2

Identify the highest interest rate you could refinance at in order to pay the current balance off in 20 years and determine the interest rate, to the nearest quarter point, that would require a monthly total payment that is less than your current total payment. The interest rate that you qualify for will depend, in part, on your credit rating. Also, refinancing costs you $2,000 up front in closing costs.

    • (a) Explain your strategy for solving the problem.

    • (b) Present a step-by-step solution of the problem.

    • (c) Clearly state your answer to Part 2. What is your decision?

  • Need help explaining this!?

had a paper to write for my College Algebra class. We had to explain our answer to the following problem. I did this but my instructor gave me a 0 because she said I didn't explain it correctly. So I am going to post the problem and see if someone will explain it to me step by step so I can then try to explain it to my instructor.

You are playing Guess Your Card with three (3) other players. Here is what you see:

    • Andy has the cards 1, 5, and 7

    • Belle has the cards 5, 4, and 7

    • Carol has the cards 2, 4, and 6

Andy draws the question card, “Do you see two (2) or more players whose cards sum to the same value?” He answers, “Yes.”

Next Belle draws the question card, “Of the five (5) odd numbers, how many different odd numbers do you see?” She answers, “All of them.”

    Andy suddenly speaks up. "I know what I have," he says. "I have a 1, a 5, and a 7."

Write a one to three (1-3) page paper in which you:

    1. Summarize the salient facts of the problem.

    2. Explain your strategy for solving the problem.

    3. Present a step-by-step solution of the problem.

    4. Clearly state your answer.
