Recommendations for French-speaking colleges in Quebec for a political science degree?
My daughter is a double major in college - French and Political Science - in the U.S. As part of the requirements for her French degree, she needs to study outside the country at a French-speaking college for a semester. What French-speaking colleges in Quebec would you recommend that are good in the Political Science department? (She has dual Canadian/U.S. citizenship so visa issues, etc. aren't a problem...) Any in smaller cities (i.e. - outside of metro Montreal, Quebec City)? Smaller colleges would probably be preferred over those with huge student populations...
1 AnswerHigher Education (University +)10 years agoWhere to get to the sand hills near Leader & Sceptre, SK?
I'm passing through Saskatchewan later this summer and interested in taking some pictures of the sand hills & sand dunes that are supposed to be near Leader & Sceptre, SK. Can anybody who's been there or knows how to get there give me specific directions - i.e. - specific roads and distances??
1 AnswerOther - Canada1 decade agoTravelling to Kenosha, WI - restaurant, etc. recommendations?
I'm taking my daughter (a high school senior) to Kenosha, WI on a college visit to to check out Carthage College. We will be spending 3 days in Kenosha - flying in to Milwaukee and renting a car. I've only been to Wisconsin once, and have never been to Milwaukee, let alone Kenosha, so I know absolutely NOTHING(zippo!) about Kenosha. Can anyone tell me anything at all about Kenosha? Are there any good places to eat in town that aren't national chain restaurants? Is Kenosha a safe town, or are there bad parts of town to avoid? Are there any "touristy" things to see in the area? Or is it just urban sprawl? Where are the main shopping areas in town? Any info at all would be welcome, as I know absolutely nothing about it...
2 AnswersOther - United States1 decade agoDriving through Chicago - best route?
I'm starting out from North Dakota and travelling to Detroit. Last time I went through the U.P. in Michigan and while the route is scenic, it takes forever - I want a faster trip this time. Looking at the routes that take me through Chicago, is my best bet to come in on I-90, turn south on the Tri-State Tollway I-294 and then keep following that until it becomes I-94 that will take me to Detroit? Or is there a more efficient route?
Also, what are the tolls going to cost me taking that route? Do they take credit cards? (Pardon the apparently naieve question, but we don't get a whole lot of toll roads out here in the wide open spaces of North Dakota...)
9 AnswersChicago1 decade agoFor Muslims - what's the difference between Shi'ites and Sunnis?
A question from an American Christian - actually a couple of questions:
- Are there significant differences between the beliefs of Shi'ites and Sunni Muslims? (please pardon the spelling if I got it wrong...)
- Which category would most Muslims living in the United States fall into?
- Do both groups follow exactly the same "Pillars" of Islam belief?
