  • have you used a credit repair program? Did it work?

I have bad credit, no more credit cards, one loan that we have been paying on time, but still bad credit. We have looked into this credit repair service, but would like to know if anyone has used one of these and has it actually worked?

  • Can you buy out a company by way of stocks?

ok, let's say there is a company with stocks at 1 dollar, at a volume of 1 million. In order to take ownership (or majority) do I need to buy 500,000 shares, or 1m plus?

Also, how does it affect it if the company is presently owned mostly by someone else (say founder or ceo)?

    Thanks

  • What do Nannies cost, what are their duties?

Ok, I have a 6 month old and a 6 year old, the baby is at home with me and the 6 year old leaves for school at 7:45, and comes home at 3:45, I would need a nanny from 7:00am through 6pm monday through friday, is that a normal time frame? Also, of note is that the 6 year old has a behavioral disorder, so extra care is needed.

About how much would that cost?

Also, I usually make the meals for my family, would a nanny do this (i.e. dinner @ about 5:30), and I usually keep the house as clean as I can, would this be out of the question for a Nanny?

I am asking because I have received advanced notice of a job opportunity, where I will need to spend about a month in another country, so I am trying to figure out what my options are.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Why are tobacco products Legal?

Ok, besides the fact that top tobacco companies give hundreds of millions of dallars to campaign finance, and the government makes over 1 dollar a pack in taxes, why are tobacco products legal?

Home remedies that have proven to be harmful can't be sold as home remedies anymore.

Tobacco products do absolutely no good for anyone, so why are they even legal? They harm the user, period. There is no benefit, nothing good about Tobacco products.

I am not a "truth" person or a big "anti-smoker". I am just looking at it from a logical point of view.

Other than the government making a ton of money from tobacco sales and contributions, what is the benefit of having them legal?

  • Whay are Chicagoans protesting Teen shooting by police ?

Ok, I am very sorry for the tragic shooting and it is horrible that someone was shot. HOWEVER, the kid was pointing a BB gun (that looked VERY real) at police officers (supported by witnesses). Were they supposed to ask him if it was real? Now they are talkign about lawsuits & want the officer fired. HE DID HIS JOB. You failed to raise your child with enough sense to realize you can't point a weapon at a police officer. Sorry to say something so cruel, but it is reality. My 6 year old has no toy guns, and will not have any for a long long time. And when he does, they will be bright orange, yellow or something obviously not real.

My step son who does not live with me went to the dollar store and bought a black water pistol, he is 13 and I took it from him and reprimanded him.

People need to raise their children right, instead of not raising them then wondering why something happened to them when it is too late.

Sorry, I guess the question is, do you agree with them protesting?

  • How much will FORD Sell Jaguar/Land Rover off for?

I am curious, the company apparently owes Ford and other Ford companies something like 615m in equity. To Ford, the company is less than worthless, it is a money pit that keeps on costing them money.

I am very curious as to the amount of money they would want, or if they are more interested in what the buyer has to offer as far as revitalizing the company.

  • Why can't I ask Dr. Z a question?

I wanted to ask Dr. Z a few questions about DC products, but they do not have anywhere to submit questions, just a list of questions that have been asked, and a list of the commercials.

I have a few questions that I think would be good questions, but can't ask them.

Kinda dumb to call it "ask Dr. Z" when you can't ask him anything.

or have I not found the right place to submit questions, any help here?

  • gas price trends.....?

Ok, am I the only one who has noticed that the last like 10 times gas prices went up, they spiked up then down just before a gradual increase?

I don't think it's a coincidence that gas spikes quickly, then people start comlaining then it goes down not as much as it went up, but then it slowly goes back to where it was when it spiked or just below.

I think this is a tactic used by the petro companies to inflate prices. A vital resource should not yield record profits, especially when it is in high demand. Granted we are a capitalist country, but there are laws to protect us from price fixing, which I see blatantly happening.

  • How many wars are going on in the world today?? Also what countries are getting ready to go to war?

Ok, we know about the following wars going on

    US vs Iraq

    US vs terror in Afghanistan

    Israel Vs Hezbollah and Hamas

    We also know about the following countries amping up military power and who their known enemies are;

    N. Korea, enemy is US and South Korea

    Taiwan, enemy is China

Iran, enemy is US, and other middle east countries

China, wants to take over Taiwan, will side with N Korea in a war.

Also, the US would be obligated to defend Taiwan from an attack from China.

if all these things come to fruition, a lot of other countries will be dragged in, and we WILL be at WW3.

    Does anyone else see this?

Here is what it is looking like to me,

US, UK, Japan, Australia, France, Italy, Canada and several other smaller countries

    VS.

China, Russia, N Korea, Iran and several other countries.

China and Russia combined can provide more troops and arsenal than the other side combined. So should we take caution and increase defense spending, or what else should we do?

  • How do you get condensation out of a watch?

I have an ESQ water resistant watch that has condensation in it after being accidentally submerged for a brief amount of time.

I am wondering, short of taking of the rear cover and letting it dry out, is there any way to get the condensation out of it?

  • Is it time to overturn 1976 Buckley v. Valeo ?

This is the supreme court ruling that ruled corporate contributions to campaign funds are equivalent to freedom of speech.

But it is not equal to freedom of speech. It is giving corporations a way to influence politics.

  • Want to start a revolution ?

If we drop corporate and personal funding of political parties, and transferred that to tax funded, we will make all contributions equal. For example, if the 1 dollar you can give (or not give) to campaign finance every year was raised to 10 dollars, and it was automatically given to the fund, there would be enough to pay for all parties to run and finance their campaign. What would this mean to you? You'd be charged 20 cents more a Week in taxes, and Big business's and rich people could not buy influence with campaign contributions. Is this a huge change in your pocket? not at all. Could this affect the outcome and principles of campaigns and politics? Absolutely. This would take big business out of politics, other than lobbying, which would also need to be reviewed. Copy this question and post it again, and again, let's get this going. I will be starting a chain letter to get the word out as well, email me at Colvindesign@hotmail if you want to get it.

  • Is it time to change the Two party system?

I think we should eliminate the stronghold that the two parties have on US politics.

    How do we do this?

Eliminate corporate and private campaign contribution, make it all tax funded and let a maximum of 4 candidates run for Presidency.

If the people running for office get a set amount to run for office (and have to pay the remainder back) and they each get the same amount, they would be getting all their campaign money from you.

there are 600m people in the US, if 70% have taxable incomes, that is more than enough to finance every state and federal election, with lots of change left over.

This alone could not eliminate the democratic party or republican party, but it would open politics to other parties.

    Any thoughts?

  • could one law change everything.......?

If we dropped corporate and personal funding of political parties, and transferred that to tax funded, do you think it would be better or worse?

For example, if the 1 dollar you can give (or not give) to campaign finance every year was raised to 10 dollars, and it was automatically given to the fund, there would be enough to pay for more than two parties to run and finance their campaign.

What would this mean to you? you'd be charged 9 dollars more a YEAR in taxes, and Big business's and rich people could not buy influence with campaign contributions.

Is this a huge change in your pocket? not at all.

Could this affect the outcome and principles of campaigns and politics? Absolutely.

  • Can we alter a particles' gravitrons?

I know scientists have managed to find a way to make dark matter particles, but can we alter a normal particles' gravitrons causing it to become lighter or heavier??

Was thinking about this because some things act very strangly when electricity is run through them, at a medial voltage, but I was wondering what has been tried with extremely low voltages.

  • Why not make a moon base with a super telescope and launch pad to go further than the solar system??

Ok, we have done the whole hubble thing and the MIR and all, why not go back to the moon and create a long term base with a super large Telescope consisting of multiple mirrors spread out over the moons surface all focusing on a single point? In addition the moon base could be used as a launch pad to further parts of the solar system or even beyond it. A large electric rail gun or solid fuel launch pad from the moon would enable much higher speeds than launches from earth. How about a solid fuel launch precluding a nuclear ion drive system? Or a rail gun to Ion drive?

While we are at it, the moon can be used for research for long term, we could also bore down under the moons surface to shield us from Solar Flares and radiation.

Personally I think we should do stuff like this today, and not leave it to our great grand kids.
