  • cannot find pants that fit right?

My hips have always been about 12-13 inches bigger than my waist. When I buy "relaxed" fit (looser throughhip and thigh), they fit perfectly.

I want to get some dress pants that i can wear with tunics or long sweaters and boots. Here's the problem: I cannot wear skinny jeans/pants! If I get them to fit my hips, they squeeze my thighs and gap at my waist. There has got to be "skinny" pants and jeans for curvy women! Anybody have any ideas?

Oh!! It also doesn't help that I am 5'10" and need a 34" inseam. HELP!!!!!!

  • 2004 chevy suburban 1500?

    Two questions....

One, the light behind my "P R N D 1 2" on the instrument panel is out. Is that a light bulb issue or do I have to replace the whole panel? Lights out in radio, too, and I know I have to replace radio/CD/tape portion.

Two, the master power window control panel kept falling into the door so I would pull up on the window controls to snap it back into place. Two window control levers popped off this weekend. Found replacement switch panel with housing. Will that fix the original issue as well or is there something else to make it stay snapped into the door handle?

    THANK YOU!!!!

  • I had to put my dog to sleep today.?

I don't have a question. I'm just so sad. She was 8 1/2 years old and was the best dog ever. The vet thinks she had bone cancer but her leg bone had broken for no reason. She was hurting so bad and I can't stop crying. Her bed is empty.

  • Computer will not connect to Internet?

I have a Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5136. Hard drive went bad so I bought a Seagate Momentus 250 GB from Best Buy and installed. I do not have recovery disks for Win7.

I do have disks for Vista so I installed and now WinVista will not recognize ANYTHING to get me onto Internet. I have a wireless network at home and it can't find the network and says, "Windows did not detect any networking hardware."

I am totally clueless as to what to do. I think might be drivers that are needed but the only drivers on Toshiba's site are for Win7 and/or Win8.

  • Negative arguments and logarithms?

All my life, I have been told that the argument of a log must never be negative.

    Now I have this question:

    Ln(x-2)^2 = 14

    Two ways to solve.

    First way...

    2ln(x-2)=14

    ln(x-2)=7

    e^7=x-2

    e^7+2=x

This gives one positive solution that is true in the equation.

Second method involves taking square root of both sides to remove the square.

    ln(x-2)^2=14

    e^14=(x-2)^2

    positive AND negative (e^7) = x-2

    2 plus/minus e^7 = x

Two solutions and one results in a negative argument so it should be extraneous, leaving the single positive solution as before.

I am being told that since we are SQUARING the argument, a negative arguments is ok since, once squared, it will turn positive.

    Any insight?

  • road noise 2006 sebring convertible?

I am considering buying a 2006 Chrysler Sebring convertible. They have really great reviews but I am concerned about road noise. I spend tons of time in the car and get headaches easily so I don't want to get a noisy car. I know the Sebrings that are NOT convertibles are quiet; what about the convertibles?

    Thanks!

  • Statistics and effect size. Cohen's d?

I have a pre- and post-assessment with a treatment in between. The sample size is very small (between 7 and 28, depending on the treatment assignment). I need to determine effect size. I think I need to use Cohen's d and use the standard deviation of the pre-assessment. Can anyone give me advice on that? Thanks!

  • help with with derivative?

Why is the derivative of (sqrt(1-x^2)) equal to -x/(sqrt(1-x^2) and not -2x/sqrt(1-x^2)?

Doesn't chain rule state to take the derivative of the inside (-2x) times the derivative of the main function (1/(sqrt(1-x^2)).

    Thanks!

  • Winterizing roses, elephant ears, and hibiscus?

I live in Texas, just south of Fort Worth, so we haven't had our first freeze yet (should be in about 3 weeks or so). My above-mentioned plants are all "dead" (...sleeping?) and I don't know how to care for them so they come back next season.

Do I chop them off at soil level? Do I leave what is dead-looking and just wait it out until next season? WHAT DO I DO!??!!!

    ANY HELP is greatly appreciated!

  • Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup?

I have a recipe that I love but it calls for simmering an entire chicken for about two hours, then I am supposed to de-bone the chicken. I then return the chicken to the stock and season it.

For health reasons, can I just boil chicken breasts for a long time instead? I have heard that the bones give flavor, etc., but I HATE de-boning the nasty little bird! It gives me the creeps.

    Any help is appreciated!!

The Grammys offer awards for best album as well as best record. What is the difference? I thought "album" and "record" were synonymous.

  • Need a school mascot that starts with D?

We are having a contest to name an elementary school in our district. Using a name from the history of our community -- the name is Dodge -- I am now stuck with a mascot. The Dodge Ducks sounds dumb. It doesn't have to be an animal but does need to be appropriate for an elementary school. Any ideas? Thanks so much!

  • Need aux input for iPod in car stereo with no place for it?

Currently, I use a cassette tape adaptor to play my iPod in my car. I may be buying a new vehicle and want to use an auxiliary input (is that what it is called?) instead of an FM radio transmitter. The car doesn't have a cassette tape in it. I heard there is a way to get one put in; does anyone know where, how much, easy enough to do myself? THANK YOU!!!

  • Search for music on iPod?

I have almost 700 songs on my iTunes library when I open it. How do I know for sure that they are all downloaded onto my iPod? Shouldn't they "uncheck" themselves once I sync my iPod?

I bought a song several days ago, then I couldn't find it on my iPod; however, I just saw it on my iTunes tonight so I copied and pasted it onto the playlist I wanted. Am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks!
