I've decided to stop putting chemicals (relaxers) in my hair. I shaved my head about 5 months ago and I'm rocking a natural fro underneath a wig right now. I'm tired of the wigs, although the expensive ones look pretty darn good. I just want to grow my hair out now, but its been years since I've been 100% natural. (24 years) My goal is to grow it out and then relax it again next summer.

I've always had long hair but I've never grown it out naturally. My question to Yahoo! is HOW? Do any of you black hair care experts have any pointers on how to grow my natural hair and keep it moisturized. You would think that since I'm black I would know. But I'm a fairly young American (34). Most young black people in America relax their hair. (you African-American people (as in came here from Africa or 2nd generation) are probably waiting to tell me off, I'm sure) But instead of cussing me out, please advise. African stylist especially! PLEASE!

I'm curious...

i have a huge scab on my scalp that started off as a lump with a small scab. Now the lump has subsided and is covered with a huge scab. In addition, my occipital (on the back of my neck) lymph node and the one behind my right ear is swollen and tender. Does anyone have any clue or info about what may have caused this?

I dont put chemicals in my hair. my scalp has been itching alot lately but i don't have dandruff.

Im annoyed by this and Id like some infor before I got spend money at the Dr's unnecessarily.

My brother and I are having a very large benefit concert this holiday season. There will be three beneficiaries, Toys4Tots, a local transitional housing program for disadvantaged women and a local family. There will be sponsors and corporate donors and we want to have a catchy name for the concert.

Any ideas? We kinda want a "gift giving" theme.

I used to watch Flintstones repeats when I was a little girl. I remember thinking that Barney was all wrong for Betty. Another Yahoo Answer feels the same way. What was his deal though? Betty was so smart and pretty and Barney was dumb and not cute. His stature wasn't very compatible with her and I don't remember him having a job. I just think she could have "done better". Lol!

Admit or not, everyone has a "holier than thou" opinion about something. They may not outwardly speak out against it, but they do "frown upon" it or look down upon it. Consequently, the individual reacts to said detestable behavior in various ways. Avoiding the offender, making a comment, giving dirty looks, etc.

So my question to you is this...What do you frown upon? Why? And how do you show your disdain?

Would you date a black girl? Explain....

I ask because my sweetheart and I have been together for a while. I'm black and he's white. It's natural to us and I couldn't imagine it any other way. I love him! *bats eyes at Julian*. My sugarbear! He is my king and I am his princess!

Nevertheless, some people seem repulsed by the sight of us together. Mostly white men....and I'm a pretty girl! So I'm curious. What's on the hearts and minds of some white men? Black women....

I don't ask this because I'm bothered by it, but when I ask Julian if his friends ever give him "heck" because we're together he just kisses me on my forehead and says, "You don't need to worry about that. Who cares what they think?" So I'm asking the most candid people in cyberspace...Be honest.

I'm currently working on a fiction novel. I'm seriously considering publishing my work as an eBook. Any advice?

I would like to move, so bad. I currently live in Toledo, OH. What sort of advice would you give to a family who wants to move but currently doesn't have a position lined up yet? How do you apply for jobs in a city that you don't live in yet? What steps should I take? What should I do first? My company doesn't have an office in the city to which I plan to relocate. So I know I'd have to secure a position first. I've already sold the house and we're currently renting place on a month to month basis. Keep in mind, we plan on being renters for a little while in the destination city.

Basically, I'll be doing this on my own.
