Why does my 1996 Chev. Cavalier sporadically sputter and die when I start it after driving a while, then shutting it off several minutes?
This is an intermittent, but not infrequent problem. I drive several minutes and then have it shut off, like when I go grocery shopping, but usually not when I just shut it off to run in a store real quick. If I can get it to keep going, it still sputters for several minutes while running, especially under load. It feels like it isn't getting gas, but then when the revs get up enough, it takes off just fine, though sometimes still cutting out a bit? Ideas? Suggestions?
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs5 years agoWhy do youtube videos that have a song and an album cover picture always go blurry in the middle of the song?
It seems that whenever I play a youtube video of a song where the video has only a picture of the album cover, the image blurs for several seconds and goes clear again. Is there a particular reason for this? It's not just videos from one person.
1 AnswerYouTube7 years agoHow can I read an INBOX file from an old UNIX account?
Several years ago I had an email account on a system running FreeBSD. The email ran on either 'pine' or 'elm', (I don't recall which). When I gave up that account, I saved back the file 'INBOX'. Is there some way I can read that file on my Windows PC? It would be helpful to be able to read the headers, even if I couldn't read the messages contained in the file.
2 AnswersSoftware8 years agoHow do I remove the original equipment pneumatic Hood Lift Supports on my 1988 Taurus GL?
The original hood lift supports are flat dead, and won't hold the hood open at all. I purchased replacement hood lift supports which have a slot for inserting a screwdriver to pop off the spring clip that holds the top end of the lift support around a ball attached to the hood (for removal). The original equipment hood lift supports have no such slot and no space whereby to insert a screwdriver and the spring clip is recessed into a groove around the end of the hood lift support. Pliers won't work of course, because you have to squeeze the pliers which then won't allow the ends of the clip to release from the ball. How can I get these clips off to remove the old hood lift supports?
1 AnswerFord9 years agoI saw a large grey, long-legged bird with a long, dun-colored beak... What kind of bird is it?
Perhaps its most striking feature was a narrow, black stripe that started from its eye and went straight back perhaps three inches or so. Other than that, it appeared to be varying shades of grey with no distinguishable pattern. Can you help me identify it and perhaps even link me to a picture?
Pelican? Crane? Heron? Something else?

1 AnswerZoology1 decade agoCan someone please define the following terms?: window treatments, curtains, drapes, tab top?
These are all related to window coverings, but what are the differences between the first three and what does the last one mean? Also, how does one differentiate between the kind of window coverings that require hooks (whether or not they can be opened and closed by pulling on a cord) and the kind that have a pocket at the top that slides over a plain rod?
3 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoHow do I get rid of large ants in my apartment and why are they here in the wintertime?
These are not the small "pissants" that you usually see in large numbers in the kitchen forming a line to a crumb that dropped on the floor. Instead, these are the large, black, three-segmented ants that are nearly a centimeter long, and they are appearing in all rooms of my apartment (though I've seen none in the bedroom, yet), and I only ever see one solitary ant at a time, usually on a wall, but I am seeing them more frequently. And it is wintertime here in Colorado, so how/why are they even here? And How can I be rid of them? Again, they do not travel in packs. They are loners, and they are in various areas of the apartment.
4 AnswersOther - Home & Garden1 decade agoWhy is John McCain afraid to debate Barack Obama?
He wants to back out of this Friday's Presidential debate. And his running mate won't face the press other than for photo ops!
Also, if McCain does chicken out of the debates, should the next candidate in line (per the polls--perhaps Bob Barr?) be invited to debate Obama on Friday?
17 AnswersElections1 decade agoI have some tiny (cherry size) apples, often known as crabapples: What is the best way to peel and core them?
If I want to peel and core a whole bunch of the little buggers to make apple pie, what would be the best, easiest, quickest way to do it? They are tiny, so the "normal" methods and tools for peeling and coring "standard"-sized apples wouldn't work. Any experience, ideas, suggestions?

1 AnswerFacebook1 decade agoIn the Relationships section of Profile Edit in Facebook, I have four choices, so how do some have different?
In the Relationships section of Profile Edit in Facebook, I have only four choices: Friendship, Dating, A Relationship, Networking. Yet, I have seen some profiles that have other things such as "Random play" or "Whatever". So how do some people have these different category selections?
1 AnswerFacebook1 decade agoWhat is the best way to sell stuff you want to get rid of (besides a yard/garage sale)?
Yahoo highlighted some article about getting rid of your stuff for cash by having a yard sale, but we cannot all have yard sales where we live. So, what, besides that, is the best way? We all know that it's NOT craigslist, because people never answer ads on there. Is it eBay, or does that now only work for people selling many of the same few items over and over? What have you tried and what's worked? Online?/Offline? What are the pluses and minuses of what you've tried?
