Lately whenever i'm on the computer it sounds like it's running really hard all the time.....like it's working on something, even when i'm not doing anything but reading something. The sound comes from the tower and it is similiar to the sound it makes when I'm burning a cd. I defrag at least monthly and perform a disk cleanup almost as often. And how high is normal for the CPU usage? Right now it's reading 55%.

I have Windows XP office on my pc. On my laptop I have Windows Vista. I really don't like the wordpad and notepad on the laptop, I want the office stuff I have with the pc. I downloaded a free trial for office but it will only last 90 days. Is there a way to use the disks that came with the pc to install just the office stuff onto the laptop, or do I just need to buy it? Thanks.
