Why does Yahweh disdain idol worship?
yet condone and promote the use of other magical effigies such
as Arron's rod, six jugs of wine, the brazen serpent and Lazarus's
corpse to name bit a few?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoTwo leading questions:?
In the water to wine miracle (John 2:1-11 )
why does Jesus have the servants fill six jugs to the brim with
water?
Why was Mary chosen to be the virgin mother of Jesus?
Hint : Both questions have the same answer.

5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhat is the worst TV show you have ever seen?
My pick was an Australian import from the 60's called
“Skippy the Bush Kangaroo” which had one of
the worst theme songs ever.
Shows which feature monster or ghost hunting
are a given and do not count.

Turning rod into a snake, a statue of a dog into a dog,six jugs full of water into
six jugs full of wine, six white mice into six white horses, the golden calf into the cow fertility goddess, a marionette into a wooden boy, dead Lazarus into living Lazarus, a lump of lead into a lump of gold, a virgin who is not pregnant into a virgin who is pregnant, five loaves and two fishes into five thousand loaves and fishes, Harry Potter's broken eyeglasses into fixed eye glasses, or a rough sea into calm sea,
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMature Skeptical types who were raise as judeo-christians What made you lose your faith?
I remember being about 9 years old in Sunday School and being told the story of Lots wife being turned into a pillar of salt. I pictured the event in my mind and wondered why her shape remained unchanged. Even at that age I was familiar enough with fairy stories and fables to realize this great “Miracle” was in fact very typical folklore magic.

taking an innocent child and a lamb without spot or blemish and eating his body and drinking his blood, and that this practise is not contagious witchcraft?

Are stone age nature spirits being perpetuated just as an excuse for giving divine sanctification to aberrant behaviour?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy does Lot's wife become a pillar of salt and not some other shape?
I was about 9 years old when this story was read to us in Sunday School. I was
then that I realized that God's holy miracles were in fact fairytale magic.
Later I would understand that fictional writers do not have their miracle workers change the shape of an object because they want their stories to be easy for the reader to picture in their minds

Lev{26:3} "'If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and
do them; {26:4} then I will give you your rains in their season...
I was taught in Sunday School that unlike a hundred other versions of Heavenly Father Yahweh was not a rain god, yet the Bible says otherwise.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIn John {11:38} Why Jesus bother going to the grave and removing the stone?
One would thing a being with real godlike miracle working power could turn five loaves and two fishes into living Lazarus. Then again one might think a real magic philosopher's stone could turn a lump of lead into an immortal man. Perhaps a real Blue Haired Fairy could turn a clock on the wall into a marionette. IF the Pharaoh's magicians had real magic power they might a rod into a fleet of tanks.
When Jesus performs a miracle he modifies a nearby person of object.
Why are the mechanics of magic -like makes like- in the Bible the same as those found in superstition and folklore?
4 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes any one know of scientific evidence that the Bible is right that circumcision increase male fertility?
GEN {17:2} I will make my covenant between me and you, and will
multiply you exceedingly."
Can a 99 year old man really get a 90 year old woman pregnant after being circumcised?
Can a circumcised boy really defeat an uncircumcised giant in a fight?
I once heard a voodoo priest say he practiced circumcision because a boy was partly feminine do to of his foreskin, a girl was partly masculine because of her clitoris. How
is the Biblical practice different from these taboo practices. They seem in agreement to me.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade ago2 Kings 13:18 Why is it three "Miracle" stikes can't produce five or six strikes against Syria?
2 Kings{13:18} He said, "Take the arrows;" and he took them. He said to the
king of Israel, "Strike the ground;" and he struck three times, and
stopped. {13:19} The man of God was angry with him, and said, "You
should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria
until you had consumed it, whereas now you shall strike Syria just
three times."
