Catholic Survey: By Phone or IM - Open to All Religions and Non-Religious?
1. To God, is it more important what you wear to Mass, or more important what you have in your heart, and the work you do to strengthen the Church and lead others to it? (For example, since women are to cover their head, if the head covering appears 'goth' although the person wearing it is not 'goth')
2. Is it a graver sin to judge others in hurtful ways, lash out at them with words of spite and judgement until you've hurt them as badly as you can (while saying it is okay because you pray all the time not to while still maintaining that the following is NOT okay), or is it a graver sin to confess something and fail at amending your life, although taking steps to do so every day while putting too many expectations on authorities in the Church to guide you, and therefore have to confess the same type of sin many times, though lesser in amount each time?
3. Do you consider someone a good Christian when they say cruel things to another Christian and follow it with a sarcastic statement, such as "Oh, I'll pray for your speedy recovery since you have mental health issues and I think you're a satanist (said to a Catholic) despite not reading your entire post and I refuse to believe anything you say"?
Please go into detail about these while stating what religion you are. For some reason I think that atheists may have the more sensible answers in this situation, because they won't go on the defensive and try to destroy all proof that there are Catholics like this.
If you would like to give your answers to a person by phone, let me know and I will post one for you to call. If you would like to e-mail and discuss, please use catechasm@gmail.com or contact me as catechasm on yahoo messenger.
There are no right or wrong answers in this, since it is a survey to gather opinions. The more you have to say, the better. Peace be with you in all of your days, and I thank you in advance for your answers! <3
3 AnswersReligion & Spirituality10 years agoAtheists: Your opinion on this Catholic poem?
I don't mind if theists or others answer this question. I wrote something that I wanted feedback on, because I am hoping that it explains why Catholics love the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession). Because I don't want to post my copyrighted poem here, I'm going to put the link instead.
Honest opinions are valued and if I can't choose a best answer, then I'll leave it for voting - Unless there are no votes, in which case I'll have my son choose a best answer. Thank you!
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoCatholics: Can a person be confirmed soon after baptism?
I am also asking this of the apologists on the Catholic forum, as well as the Deacon and Father of my Parish.
I was not active with the Church for a long time, and so, even though my son is twelve, he has yet to take the sacrament of baptism (or any further sacrament of the Church that is taken after baptism, such as reconciliation/confession or anything other than the simple blessing given at Communion when you are not allowed to actually receive Communion yet.) He will be baptized soon, and since I am only familiar with how things are done if there is an infant baptized into the Church, then I am unsure of when his confirmation will be. I know that, normally, an infant is baptized, and usually sometime around my son's current age, they choose their Patron and are confirmed, but since he has made the decision to come into the Catholic Church rather than me making the decision for him, I am not sure whether there will be much time between his baptism and confirmation. The only reason that it matters (since he will be confirmed, whether it's a month from now or two years) is because of other family responsibilities in these things and people wanting to be informed. I'll choose the best answer once there have been enough to vote, and thanks for your clarification on this.
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWithout jailbreaking the iPhone, are there any apps out there that allow you to block phone calls or texts?
There's this ugly situation with an ex-friend and I don't want to change my phone number. I will probably end up jailbreaking the iPhone but until I decide to do that is there any way to end this harassment by blocking her?
