  • Facebook help?

My friend list has shows 23 people's profiles, yet at the top of the page it says 24 friends. I can't think of who this mysterious "friend" might be, but I want them gone. How can I figure out who this is and/or get rid of them?

  • A question about MyHeritage Family Tree Builder.?

I'm using Family Tree Builder for a family tree that includes children. I don't use photos, so the program uses a file photo by default (male head for male, female head for female, male child head for a boy and female child head for a girl). However, it uses an adult picture for any child over age 11. It bugs me to no end, and I can't find any help for this except a prompt to upgrade my FTB to premium. I don't need premium, I just need it to show a child picture for any child under 18. Any My Heritage Family Tree users out there? Help!

  • College and immigration status question?

I am a permanent resident, and am considering applying for college. One of my choices is Pitt Com, College in Greenville, NC. On its website it mentions that some programs that include practical part (such as nursing, radiography, etc.) may require "and/or proof of US citizenship prior to or during participation in the clinical portion of a program". I don't understand this. Does it mean only citizens can participate, and permanent residents can't, or is it just uneducated layman's language for "has to have lawful residence or other legal status in the US"? There are laws prohibiting employment discrimination against permanent residents, but medical facilities can discriminate against students who attend practicals? That doesn't seem right. Can someone please explain this to me?

  • AR-11 question? Didn't file on time because had no fixed address?

My relative is a sponsored immigrant. She has a Green Card now, and it's almost time to file for citizenship. However, her former husband and sponsor abused her (no police reports or anything, but we do have several witnesses of him beating her up). Anyway, she left him and lived with various relatives, in hotels, etc. for about 6 months, so she didn't file for AR-11 because she didn't stay anywhere for more than a couple of weeks - he came to harass her at her place of work, and she didn't want to be found, as well as protect her child from all this). She left in September 2010 and filed for divorce in September 2011, as per North Carolina law of 1-year separation. But she filed her AR-11 only in March 2011, because that was her first fixed address after she left. Now, if she applies for N-400, her address change from her husband's house is only about 6 months before her divorce application. Would this cause her any problems with USCIS?

She has to file for citizenship soon, because she has very low income, and the new health care law would take her sponsor's income into account, so she'll end up paying a large penalty. Her sponsor had not supported her since she left, and if he gets a reimburcement notice or will be required to pay up on his I-864, there's no telling what he will do.

  • Squeaky noise when turning steering wheel left but not right...?

I first started to hear the noise in wet or cold weather. It happens sometimes, while other times, there's nothing at all (this usually happens when I try to show it to the mechanic). While driving, the noise is there whenever I turn, left or right. In park mode, the noise only happens when I turn the wheel to the left, but nothing when turn to the right. The noise seems to be coming from under the hood, if that helps. What could this be? And what would the approximate cost of repair be?

  • How to suspend Amazon.com gift card so that a debit card is used first?

I have some money on gift card balance, but I want to save it for later and use a debit card for my next purchase. However, the site says that gift card funds would be applied to my next purchase first, automatically. How do I stop this?

  • Would a record of a car accident prevent me from joining the military?

I was in a at-fault accident about a year ago. There was no damage to the cars and the other person did not say she had any injuries. We exchanged insurance info and she left first (in North Carolina, an accident is not considered reportable for law enforcement purposes unless the damage is over $1,000 and/or there are injuries on the scene). Neither she nor I reported the accident to the police. About 2 months after the accident, I found out that the other person went to the doctor as a precautionary measure (no actual injury found, as far as I know), and filed a personal injury claim of $100 against my insurance.

Now, I'm considering joining the military, and I wonder if I should tell about this to the recruiter as a part of criminal background (though it's technically a civil suit, not a criminal matter, right?) and would this prevent me from joining.

  • Oil change question...?

What would be the damage if the oil in the car is not changed for 6 months past the date it should've been? Took the car to the shop, they refused to change oil because the car had a leak. Told me that the car can catch fire at any time. Been 4 months, no fire yet. Took the car to mechanic, he didn't find any leaks. Go figure.

  • Can I use an expired driver license to board a flight?

My license had expired, and though I renewed early, I still haven't got my new driver's license. I have a flight in 2 weeks, and I have a North Carolina 20-day temporary driver's certificate. Can I use that and the expired ID to board a domestic flight?

  • Government shutdown on March 4, 2011?

The government is set to shut down on March 4, if the wrangling in Congress is not over by that time. Such services as Border Patrols, visa/passport processing, and Tax Administration might (and probably) would be affected. But what about Immigration/USCIS services?

  • Need some recommendations...?

I'm looking for a new series to read, in fantasy or fantasy romance genres. I'd rather not read anything about vampires/werewolves, though. Thanks in advance.

  • HOW do people develop settings (like Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance) for role-playing games?

Are games based on books, or are books written about a universe already created by the game developers? Can a person just create a fictional universe and then give it to a game-developing company to create a game around it?

As you can see, I don't know first thing about role-playing games (lol), but interested in learning a bit more.

  • 10-year Green Card question...?

I got a conditional resident Green Card, valid for 2 years, and I would need to do the petition to remove the condition of residence.

I just read the requirements, and it says: "If you are chosen for an interview..., and if not, than a Green Card will be mailed to you". Does that mean that not everyone has to do a second interview? Some people just get a card in the mail?
