    My parents have a friend who is very ill with cancer. As an agnostic/atheist (depending on the day), I don't have anything to offer them when the inevitable time comes.   • Why even bother to pray?

    Hi everyone! I bounce between an agnostic and atheist depending on the day, so please no attempts to convert.

    I was raised Christian and always wondered why people bothered to pray when God already "has a plan for you?" Isn't there some contradiction there?
