I'm writing a recipe cookbook designed for Diabetics. The main criteria of my book is 1) it has to be good for me. 2) the recipe has to be easy to make. And 3) the recipe has to taste good or it doesn't get into my book! I'm concentrating on the nutritional aspect of each recipe, therefore I provide a nutritional breakdown for each meal into serving size. I'm going to call it ''I'm a Diabetic, tell me what I can eat''.

  • Missing Plug-in for my flash player?

About every 30 minutes my adobe flash player goes out on me. When I refresh I get the message "Missing Plug-in" and need to restart my browser. It does this on both Vista Home Premium AND Windows 7. I run Google Chrome because Firefox was giving me issues. When I go to Adobe to upgrade my flash player it tells me that I'm running the most current version and that Chrome will let me know when I need to upgrade it...what can I do to fix this?

  • Deep-Frying in Oil?

If I use 2 Cups/500 mL of Canola Oil, in a 1-qt/1 L saucepan at 350ºF/180ºC for 2 minutes, how much of that 2 Cups/500 mL remains after cooking my food (Tempura)?

I want to figure the nutritional aspect in a recipe. The amount of oil used will be the factor that I find my data.

Does it matter what type of oil I use?

  • Cooking Temperatures?

When a recipe says ''PREHEAT THE PAN OVER MEDIUM HEAT''...what is medium heat?

I'm trying to figure out the actual temperatures for the following:

    Simmer = ºF

    Low Heat = ºF

    Medium Heat = ºF

    Medium-High Heat = ºF

    High Heat = ºF

    *Boiling = ºF

*Now I know that water boils at 212ºF/100ºC but what I want is the temperature of the water at a rolling boil!

  • Court Order Stating Paternity?

My son is in the Army and has a 7 month-old boy. The Army is requesting a court order that shows that he is the Father of his child. I have called the county court and spoke with Family Law and they couldn't tell me how to proceed but I was given a web site. http://www.courtinfo.ca.gov./

Specifically, what forms do I need to fill out to get this going?

  • Diabetic Pizza?

I wanted to put together a Diabetic Pizza consisting of Eggplant (thinly sliced and layered) and about 2 Tbsp Parmesan Cheese, sprinkled on top for flavor, for the crust.

I had the idea to ''blind bake'' it prior to preparing my pizza, kind of like a pie crust...would this work? Will the Egglpant crust bake crispy enough to hold fixings for a pizza?

How would YOU prepare the crust to be low carb?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Splenda granular?

When using Splenda granular as a sugar replacment, do you use it 1 to 1 with sugar (the same amount of Splenda granular as sugar that is called for in the recipe) or is it like Splenda for baking where you use half the amount of Splenda for baking for the amount of sugar that is called for in the recipe?

    Thanks for your help!

  • Feline Epilepsy?

I came home from doing my shopping and my 10 year old female cat was resting on large pillows in our bay window. I noticed that, as she tried to get up, she was stumbling. I went over to dislodge her claws and she wasn't stuck but she continued to stumble uncontrolably! I gently held on to her so she wouldn't fall off and hurt herself!

I have elpilepsy myslef, I've had it since I was 6 months old but I've been seizure free since 1993!

My questions are, other than hooking up my cat to an EEG machine, is there any other way to test her brain for seizure activity? Do they have medication to cope with seizures for cats? Do I have to go to a specialized vet or is this common?

Thank you for your helpful advice!
