Do you do this to people?
I was wondering if any of you reject the following type of person and stop him/her from becoming a part of your friends circle. :
Personality: Highly intelligent, good-hearted, pleasing, humorous, helpful and not at all jealous, resentful or unpleasant to outsiders
Looks and dress code: Decent
Interests: Good books, all types of music and a penchant for writing powerful prose
Habits and nature: No weird habits except introversion and a tendency to prefer to be alone due to past rejections and childhood pain. Tries to be friendly but does not try so hard as to appear fake.
If you reject such people, I'd like to know why you do it. I am aware of the fact that it is a person's prerogative to decide whom he/she befriends or moves with (so please don't give me the freewill angle) but all the same, it would be interesting to know why people start interacting normally with a person of the above mentioned personality type and unceremoniously dump them when they've finished making use of them for their own personal gains.
BQ: How do you think such a person feels when he/she is subjected to this treatment all his/her life and is almost condemned to a life of isolation for no fault of his/hers?
4 AnswersOther - Society & Culture7 years agoWill I have difficulties till 2017?
Hi all,
Here are my birth details:
DOB: November 4, 1987
Time of Birth: 1:15 p.m.
Place of Birth: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
I am presently facing difficulties in finding a job and many other personal issues. I was wondering whether this is due to Saturn in Scorpio (as per western astro), my natal Saturn (as per western astro) is in Sagittarius which is the next sign that Saturn is due to hit in end 2014. I have already been facing difficulties since 2012 due to Saturn in Scorpio. Can anyone tell me whether I will have to endure difficulties till 2017? (I really hope not!)
2 AnswersHoroscopes7 years agoWhy are Indian leaders enablers of rape and other crimes against women? BQ: Why aren't crimes against women addressed as important issues?
As we have seen, rapes and other crimes against women are occurring with disturbing regularity in all parts of India. To add to this dangerous situation, Indian leaders condone, minimise and trivialise this burning issue as a matter of "boys will be boys." They seek support among a sexually deviant population which seems to be of an appreciably large size to necessitate such desperate measures. What does this say about Indian values and Indian culture. It may not be considered part of Indian culture for women to dance item numbers in skimpy outfits but it seems to be perfectly alright for men to sexually exploit any women they fancy.
If a man is rejected by a woman he wants, he resorts to violence to "balance out" the gender equation and reclaim his so-called "manhood" and society is okay with it. If a woman who is rejected does the same thing, she is condemned and cast out of society as a desperate nymphomaniac.
BQ2: Why are there different rules for the two genders when it comes to matters of crime?
3 AnswersGender & Women's Studies7 years agoYahoo India users, what should I do next if I want to pursue an MBA in 3 years?
Hi, I'm from India and my academic background is as follows:
I am a commerce graduate from an Indian university and a qualified company secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. I am almost done with my ICWA as well. I recently tried and failed to gain admission into 4 MBA programs in North America (Michigan, Rochester, Vanderbilt (denied without interview) and Rotman (Canada) (denied with interview)). I have a GMAT score of 680 (Q45 V38 AWA 6 out 6 and IR 7 out of 8). I think my failure to gain admission into the MBA programs of my choice has something to do with my lack of work experience (2 years in the Financial services sector) and the relatively modest designations I have held. I am 26 now and I plan to re-apply for an MBA by the time I'm around 28-29. I do not want to pursue an M.Com to fulfil American universities' 16 year requirement. Instead, I am toying with the idea of an LLB as that makes more sense with my present qualifications. I am also on the lookout for a job and have come by some decent offers. Do you think this course of action is the right one given my present circumstances? Will it help for me to pursue a CFA as well or am I putting too much pressure on myself?
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)7 years agoHow many of you thumb down good answers only because they don't say what you want them to say?
I've seen this happen a lot in the Gender Studies section. When I give a logical answer to a question, there is obviously a user out there who sees that I make sense and doesn't like it because truth hurts. He/she takes out his/her frustration by thumbing down the answer. Now we have no way of finding out who has given our answers negative ratings but in many cases I have reasons to believe that it is the askers themselves. An example would be "Hey, I am crazy about this married guy, can I date him and will he leave his wife for me?" and if I answer "No on both counts" I will most certainly get about 3 TDs. If you want yes men then why do you ask questions, don't waste your points and our time.
BQ:How many of you agree with what I am saying?
9 AnswersGender Studies7 years agoMy life is messed up right now and I want to know why?
Gender: Female
Date of birth: November 4, 1987
Place of birth: Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
Time of birth: 13:15 pm
I have had a pretty rough 2013 and the few months of 2014 that have gone by have not proven to be any better. I gave up my lucrative job in the hope of pursuing higher studies abroad in late 2012. I scored well in my competitive exams and applied to colleges in US and Canada, I even reached up to interview stage in some of them and got rejected by all of my choices. I worked very hard in 2013-14 to achieve this long standing goal of mine and failed quite miserably. I feel like 1.5 years of my life's work have been invalidated with the singular click of a button. I am now trying to re-enter the job market but am not having a particularly easy time finding a job. When will this mess in my life clear up? Please help me.
3 AnswersHoroscopes7 years agoIt's better (read more exciting) not to know what the future holds. How many of you agree?
I think approaching soothsayers and astrologers (accurate or not) to foretell the future makes life less exciting. A little mystery never hurt anyone.
4 AnswersPolls & Surveys7 years agoIs there a fixed time for the SBI probationary officers exam every year?
I want to take SBI's probationary officers exam this year. I found out that SBI started inviting applications for this around this time last year. Will the announcement come out at the same time this year or does it depend upon the bank's requirement?
BQ: Are the PO exams of any other banks likely to be announced in the near future?
2 AnswersInsurance7 years agoHow many of you have suffered because you were unwilling to compromise with your ideals?
I feel like all good things have taken time to happen to me because I have been (and still am) unwilling to compromise with my ideals. My patience has been tested several times but I have still managed to remain true to myself. How many of you feel the same way?
6 AnswersPolls & Surveys7 years agoIs it possible for a person to like love songs and love stories but dislike the real thing i.e. Love?
In the hope that this question will not be reported and taken down by some vindictive troll users and fun-killers, I put out this question into the cosmic void of Yahoo Answers. Hope there are some stars out there who can answer this question to my satisfaction.
2 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups7 years agoA question for Indian viewers, how many of you believe that Bigg Boss 7 is really lame?
I think Bigg Boss Saath 7 is hopelessly boring and the show has run it's course. This season in particular feels like a dead cricket pitch. How many of you agree? Give me some feedback on what you think about the show and how it can save itself from its flagging TRPs.
8 AnswersReality Television8 years agoHave you read Khaled Hosseini's "And the Mountains Echoed"? If yes, what do you think of it?
I have read Khaled Hosseini's "Kite Runner" and "A Thousand Splendid Suns." I preferred the latter. I recently purchased "And the Mountains Echoed" an am curious about the response to the book.

No particular context for this question, but all the same, I just wanted to know what everyone thinks.
