  • Case fan questions for PC Building?

So I'm about to receive a Corsair Vengeance C70 case and it comes with 3 fans.

There are two mounted on the drive bays (I'm going to guess they point inwards towards the back)

    http://cwsmgmt.corsair.com/media/catalog/product/c...

If you look closely you can see the fans' profiles towards the middle,

and one rear mounted fan which I'm assuming blows outwards.

I also bought four 120mm fans and am having trouble on deciding where to put them and in which direction to point them (at least until I buy more). The case itself has room for a total of EIGHT more fans so I have to eliminate four spots.

Two spaces are on the front of the case, which if blowing inwards may work together with the drive bay mounted fans.

Two spaces on the bottom, which have dust filters.

Two spaces on the removal side panel.

And two space on the top.

Out of the eight spaces, what configuration would give me the best airflow and cooling? If it helps, this case will most likely go on the floor either directly on the carpet or on top of a wooden panel of some kind that I can easily buy and be sitting underneath a desk pushed up against the corner of my room.

  • Samsung Gravity TXT won't connect to my PC.?

I've been using a Samsung Gravity TXT for the last couple of days and I still can't figure out how to get the damn thing to connect to my computer.

-I have an SD card (8 GB) in there and the phone recognizes it.

-I have set the phone's settings to "Mass Storage" mode.

-I attached a USB data cable to it running to my computer (though it is a non-OEM cable. Something I picked up on Amazon for a previous phone.) It charges the phone but I can't seem to access the phone through my computer.

-I've tried Formatting the SD card via the phone.

-Both data cable and SD card have worked on a different LG phone before.

    Any ideas?

  • Crackling noise, loss of hearing, and pain in right ear?

Lately I've noticed a little loss of hearing in my right ear, almost like it's muffled or there's a water bubble in there. I also get this weird crackling noise (think kind of like when you crack your knuckles/joints) in the ear whenever I yawn or open my mouth really wide. Sometimes the crackling is followed by a sharp pain in the ear as well.

Any ideas as to what it might be and to help get rid of it?

  • Is a fender repair necessary?

Got into a little accident earlier and it seems like the front driver's side fender was rather dented or shifted somehow so that when I open the door, the door panel and the fender hit each other and then pop. It doesn't seem bad, a body shop mechanic kinda bent the fender back so that it wasn't hitting the door anymore but said it was most likely temporary and that depending on how I drive the car, the fender may just shift back which would make it pop against the door again every time I open it. Didn't say when though. Said it could be within a month or two, worst case within a few weeks that it could happen.

Is this something I can kind of wait on before fixing? Money's tight and his estimate to fix it came out to a little over $800 so my question is can I go maybe a few months without fixing this so i can save up and whatnot?

  • Question about typing in Korean?

Alright for the sake of the question let's say that there are three possible letters in each "character" in Korean. There's the first, the top consonant, the second, or the vowel, and finally the third which is an optional ending consonant. In the case of the word "kim-chi" we'd find the K as the first, the "ee" as the second" and the M as the last-all in the first character, yes?

My question about typing is, when I go at it, how do I jump from the character I'm on to the next one if the first character doesn't have a third consonant? For example, when writing the word "Na-Bi" or butterfly, how do I quickly stop it while I'm typing from becoming "Nab-i"?

Hope this isn't confusing...help would be appreciated.

  • I have a question for people who normally have panic attacks~?

I have a very very close friend whom I love to death but she has this thing.

At nights, usually right before she sleeps she gets these extreme panic attacks. Often time it's about the fear of dying and she just starts to really freak out. I myself have minor panic attacks but I've learned over the years to effectively deal with them myself, mostly by distracting myself and through some breathing exercises but it doesn't seem to help her out at all. She's usually texting me when this happens and she seems so scared. I feel terrible not being able to do anything for her. Often nights she just falls asleep somewhere along the line and she's relatively okay come morning but the next time it happens I would really love to be able to help her. To say the right things to calm her down so she can sleep a little easier, yknow? Cos sometimes it happens in the middle of the day and it just ruins it from then on so yeah..I'd just like to be able to prevent that too.

So if anyone has any advise it would be so so appreciated. If you have something similar and have found something that works or if you know someone who has them and have a generally idea on how to handle them I'd love your feedback.

  • Guy Gardner in Young Justice question!?

In episode 22 when the Justice League is considering people for membership, Flash brings up the thrid Green Lantern on Earth, Guy Gardner. The idea was shot down quickly by both Hal and John at the same time. Funny but begs the question why to someone who isn't super familiar with all of the Green Lanterns and their relationships with each other.

    So why?

  • Optimizing my printer to print in Grayscale?

I have an old HP All-In-One printer and I've recently decided to print everything in black and white (aka grayscale) to save money. Yknow, so I don't have to buy color cartridges and whatnot.

The only problem is that whenever I do print out something that is close to solid black, it comes out much too light. Like the "brightness" setting was jacked up too high or the printer wasn't not using enough black ink. I know that most printers use a bit of color when printing blacks but I've found out how to change the settings so that only the black ink cartridge was used. This helped a little but not a whole bunch.

I was wondering if there was a way to optimize my printer to print better grayscale images.

  • A question on Intel and AMD's new APUs?

So I just discovered these. I know I'm a bit behind and what I've found so far is that these APUs are pretty much a CPU and a GPU thrown into one neat little package for increased performance. Awesome idea but I have a few questions.

Do these APUs fit into old socket/chip sets for Motherboards? Or are they getting their own socket type?

If the APUs function as an integrated GPU would and assuming these APUs can be used on current/older motherboard(which seems to be the case I think) then what happens to the old integrated GPU?

How about dedicated graphics cards? Do they APUs affect them in any way?

Are there any cons to getting an APU?

  • I need help buying a new guitar tuner.?

So my tuner broke recently and as I was shopping around for a new one I noticed the increase in "clip-on" style tuners. Tuners that apparently tune not through a little mic built into it but the strings vibrations.

Now I had a Korg CA-30 Chromatic Tuner I used for my guitars that was given to me by a friend who knows how long ago and I'm not even really sure if it was meant for guitars but the needle would always go crazy on the display. And while it worked well enough it wasn't perfect. So I was wondering from other people's personal experience, do clip-on vibration tuners work better? Do the clip-on ones work with unplugged electric guitars?

What are the pros and cons of each tuner in your opinion? And if you've had a really good experience with a particular (cheap) tuner, please do share. I prefer tuners that aren't limited to the standard tuning (EADGBe).

    Thanks. :]

  • Graphics Card Temperature question!?

So I recently bought an ATI Radeon HD 5450 and it's working great for what it is but when I got it I worried that it might run a little hot because all it has is a passive heat sink and I'm not too experienced with temperatures as far as computer components go. I downloaded the program speed fan and it looks like my Graphics card is hitting 57 degrees celsius on a heavy load (Running Dragon Age: Origins on high graphics settings for a few hours). I was wondering if this was an acceptable temperature?

Idle temperatures are usually in the high 30's to mid 40's (Again in Celsius).

If this is an acceptable range then just for security's sake, what's a temperature where I should start worrying? If this is too high would extra case fans help? I have two case fans on the side panel blowing air inwards if I remember correctly. I have room for two more 80mm case fans on the back that I believe are supposed to blow outwards? But yeah any info would help.

  • Do I have Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?

So I've been working this job for about a month or so now and I've slowly noticed my right hand going numb. The job requires me to strain my wrist in a position I wasn't really accustomed to and does require me to make several repetitive motions. I honestly can't remember if it was like this in the beginning or not but here are my symptoms as of now:

-Numbness/tingly sensation in my thumb, index finger, middle finger, an what seems to be half of (the thumb side) of my ring finger. This numbness is always there, for at least the last two weeks. It sometimes gets a tiny bit better but it never truly lets up, it's constant.

-Aching along most of that side of the hand and wrist. Sometimes it doesn't ache at all.

-Just today I woke up and it felt a little more "numb" than usual and the pain felt different, more like a light burning sensation.

    -Weakened grip.

If I do have it, then I'm wondering if a wrist splint would really help. It sounds like the wrist splint is for people who's CTS has eased up at certain times of the day and where there CTS needs to be brought on by certain activities such as driving for a awhile or working. My numbness/pain is constant whether I'm working or not. But I could be wrong.

And can CTS be completely cured without surgery? Or is it something I can be stuck with for the rest of my life? I read up on it and it sounds like the CTS is caused by accumulation of scar tissue which doesn't sound like something that would go away, especially with just a wrist splint.

Any help would be useful. Hopefully I can get someone on here who's had similar symptoms as me..

  • A thought on the topic of homosexuality in today's society?

I feel like often times when I hear someone ask a touchy question about homosexuality (at least mostly online) it's met with a really large amount of hate or anger or sarcasm.

Someone will ask anything from a hypothetical question to a simple clarification of something and people will rage on about how they're stupid or insensitive or anything...just totally avoiding the answer and attacking back with lots of negativity.

Sometimes I wonder if these questioners are truly and sincerely asking something s/he just wants the answer to and i t feels like these people are being counter progressive by not only keeping this person in the dark (and maybe kindly informing them that they're inadvertently being insensitive) but possibly keeping them from trying to actually further educate themselves on such matters in the future due to the fear of being met with the same resistance. It just seems like this approach would just breed more ignorance.

A lot of the time it seems like this could be so easily avoided with a slightly kinder approach and a little guidance to those that are a little more oblivious to the rest. Don't get me wrong, I know there is a lot of homophobia going around but every time I see this kind of thing it does make me wonder. Some people just don't know how to handle such a touchy subject and I don't think hating on them helps, honestly.

    Or am I just wrong?

  • Ear popping noise when I inhale through my nose?

So I've had this seriously annoying problem for maybe one or two weeks now I'm not sure. I try my best to tune it out. But anytime I inhale through my nose, my right ear makes a kind of dull popping noise kinda like there's fluid or a bubble in there that pops. There's no noticeable pain or loss of hearing but it is only in my right ear.

Also, if I try inhaling through my nose in quick succession the popping only occurs on the first inhale. Weird to explain but yeah.

Any ideas to what's wrong with me? It's so irritating...

  • Longinus the Saint or the Sinner?

So I was reading up on Longinus, the Roman soldier who pierces Jesus Christ in the side with a spear and so forth. But I came across to different stories of his death, or so I think. I'm guessing I'm wrong or just mixed up.

The first was that his near blindness was healed by the blood of Jesus Christ falling into his eyes to which he changed his ways became a monk and was later arrested and martyred for his faith.

The second was that he was just the soldier that stabbed Jesus Christ on the cross and was thrown into a cave where a lion came and mauled him repeatedly till morning. Then the lion would go away his injuries would heal and the lion (or a different lion?) would come back and maul him again repeatedly and this was supposed to repeat forever and was his punishment.

So what am I missing? Some link between the two stories? Did I get em mixed up completely? Are they two different people or what?

  • The difference in how you cut onions?

So I've noticed for awhile that most Onions are cut against the grain except in some Hispanic or Asian dishes that cut with the grain, apparently sometimes called a "vertical slice".

I was wondering what the main differences were besides texture. Texture-wise I prefer them cut with the grain, I don't know why. But does it affect the taste? Do cooking times change? Stuff like that.

  • Front audio jack on a PC?

Alright, so I'm using a hand-me-down computer case to rebuild a budget computer and all it has in the front are two USB ports. The case itself physically has holes semi cut into it for an audio and microphone jack but the hardware behind it is only the USB ports.

I want to add or replace the hardware or card or whatever so I have two audio jacks in front. I just need to be pointed in the direction of what I should be looking for.

What they're called, how do I know which to pick, anything I should know compatibility-wise with my MoBo when choosing and so forth.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Speeding Ticket Questions?

So I was recently diving home on a Freeway in Ventura, CA and I was driving fairly fast since it was like 3:30 AM and I was tired as @#$%. A cop pulls me over and says I was going at about 93 in a 65 zone and hands me a speeding ticket.

I looked it up online and the closest thing I could find about how much I'd have to pay was

"VC 22350 Unsafe speed, 16 to 25 miles over the limit." which was $328.00. Is this what I'm paying even though I was another 3 MPH over the limit?

And also more importantly, what are my options for fighting, reducing the amount of, or slowly paying off this damned thing?

  • CPU Core speed problem!?

I just put together a system that has a AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition 3.3GHz on a Biostar N68S3+ motherboard.

I recently ran CPUID and it said my core speed was a little over 803 MHz. Is this normal? Cos obviously 3.3 GHz doesn't equal 803 MHz....not even close.

I've heard of people having to "overclock" technically in order to get it back up to it's stock speed but I have no experience with that and how to even go about it. Please help?

  • CPU and Motherboard Compatibility?

So I decided to start building a cheap computer since my old one died.

I bought this combo on Newegg:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.asp...

If for whatever reason you can't get to the link the combo includes:

-AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition Callisto 3.3GHz

-BIOSTAR N68S3+ AM3 NVIDIA MCP68S Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

I was researching these two components and eventually found myself on BIOSTAR's website to double check the CPU compatibility list and the CPU listed above wasn't on there. It says it supports Phenom II X2's and the 80W the CPU puts out doesn't surpass the MoBo's 95W limit but I freaked out a little anyways when it wasn't specifically on the list.

Will I have trouble with putting these two together??
