  • Do you know a reputable Dallas attorney for an accident claim.?

My daughter was in a car accident in which the other driver tagged her and caused her truck to roll over three times. My daughter was not taken to hospital but pretty much spent the summer at the chiropractor and masseuse. The other driver's insurance company has offered us only $600 over the cost of our medical bills.

Does anybody know a good, reputable attorney who I could call? This person would need to be willing to work on a share of the payout. Please do not suggest those guys who advertise on TV.

  • How can you claim your own tax exemption and disallow your parents from claiming you?

My friend is a full time student who supports himself with loans, scholarships and work. He is 21. His parents - who are very poor - cannot get along with him and haven't spoken to him since June. They provide no support - financial, moral, or even a kind word. That includes the fact that they provide no car insurance or health insurance for him.

Of course they can currently claim him as a deduction because he is a full time student. But in my opinion he should be claiming himself. He doesn't earn enough to pay any taxes anyway - it's the principle of the thing.

Is there paperwork that he can file to declare that they cannot claim him? I have searched the IRS website and cannot find anything.

  • Is college graduation a gift occasion ?

We have received an "invitation" to our niece's college graduation. She is getting married in August and I am working on a commemorative wedding cross stitch.

I send high school graduation gifts without so much as a thank you note.

Is a college graduation gift necessary?

  • Where to find a job in Little Rock?

I have tried the newspaper, all the typical websites (monster, snagajob, yahoo) and craig's list. There are very few jobs listed on any of these sites. I am just looking for a summer host, outdoor or admin type of job. Where do folks in Little Rock look to find job listings?

  • What is Law Process in this case?

My daughter's boyfriend was arrested for disturbing the peace and unlawful imprisonment as a result of an argument between the two. Witnesses thought she was being forced into a vehicle but both swear she wasn't. Disturbing the peace has been dropped, but not the imprisonment - even though she doesn't wish to file a complaint. The judge, who asked no questions at the first hearing, issued a "no contact" order between the two of them for 13 days. He was very rude to my daughter, calling her a "drama queen." The boyfriend spent the night in jail.

My first question is - how can the city pursue this without her consent? My second is - there is a plea hearing on Monday. Is there any way to get this type of charge dismissed at the plea hearing or will these kids have to go through a trial? Cannot get a legal aid lawyer appointed until a plea and there is no money for a lawyer.

  • Can you recommend a Boston Area Inn or B&B?

Four women will be gathering for a family reunion in Boston on Nov. 1 (a Thursday) and then driving to Vermont the next day. Would love a charming B&B that is reasonable and will let us stay just one night - having a living room, etc., would be great. Our choice would be to have four bedrooms rather than sharing.

The reservation services won't talk to me for less than two nights.

Anybody have any ideas of places to stay that would be reachable from the airport and on the road North?

  • Do you know of a good antiques auction or consignment store?

I have inherited more antique furniture than I can use. I want to put some into a high quality consignment store or antiques auction that will allow a reserve. Haven't found much on the internet. Looking for references in Dallas area.

Yes, I have tried Craig's List and eBAY.

  • How can I get bug spray smell out of grout and brick?

We set off some of those "mister" type home bug sprays. One did not mist, but instead resulted in a puddle of bug poison on our brick floor. Now my entire den smells like poison and I cannot get the smell out of my head! HELP PLEASE - any suggestions on how to get this odor to go away. I am concerned for our health!

  • How much "allowance" should a college student get?

My daughter is in college in a small town. Right now, no job because she plays sports and has a decent scholarship.
