1 AnswerHistory3 years agoWhy does our refund go down , the more deductions we claim?
We're using Turbotax and the more deductions we put in the less of a refund we see. We didn't make much money this year . Do we have to take deductions ?
9 AnswersUnited States3 years agoI'm putting down a pad to park my school bus on. Wood chips or gravel ?
I was planning to put down about 6" of gravel but now we have a large tree to take down and it will be cheaper if we keep the chips. We only use the bus twice a year [June and September] so it wouldn't get a lot of movement.
1 AnswerOther - Cars & Transportation6 years agoCan you hook up speakers with RCA jacks to a stereo with only speaker wire connectors ?
I picked up a nice pair of Bose Roommate 2 speakers with RCA jack connectors but my stereo has only connectors for plain old speaker wires. Is there an adaptor of some kind? Can I short the 2 wires in the RCA connector together somehow and connect all of the wires to the stereo ?
2 AnswersOther - Electronics7 years agoCan anyone suggest a program to capture video from a Maginon IPC-1A network camera?
I bought this to watch my shop from home but it's software doesn't capture the video, it just lets you watch what's going on. Surely there's something out there I can use to record the video. Anyone ? There is no memory card slot.

1 AnswerSoftware8 years agoHow do you "filter" a search for a person on Facebook to a city ?
When doing a search for a person , how do you narrow the search to look for references to a particular city , like Bob Harley from Cincinnati ? Since you can't seem to refine the search , you see all of the Bob Harleys in the world and other close hits but you can't seem to narrow it to Cincinnati. Thanks.
2 AnswersFacebook9 years agoDo American-made cars in Europe really get 60-70 MPG ?
To our friends in Europe - I saw a video claiming that some American made cars sold in Europe [VW Jetta, e.g.} get as much as 78 Miles per Gallon of gas but these cars cannot be sold in the US. The emissions were supposed to be the reason , but are they comparing emissions in MPG or emissions per mile ? This seems another example of the US auto makers working with the Big Oil companies to keep us paying as much as possible for gas. Anybody know whats going on here ?

3 AnswersOther - Cars & Transportation9 years agoWhy does the gas stop in my old travel trailer furnace after about five minutes?
I've hooked up a new bottle of LPG, and after lighting the pilot light , the furnace will only stay lit for about 5 minutes and slowly die out. It's a Trav'ler furnace in a 1964 Nomad trailer. Could it be the regulator at the tank or the controller [ General Control]] at the pilot light mechanism?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWill a 185 R 15 tire fit on rims with 235 75 R 15 on them now- for my trailer?
I've never seen a tire with only 2 numbers, either. The guy selling them says they are trailer tires and will work for pulling my 15' travel trailer, but I don't know. The load rating is 1433 max per tire so, that part oughta work, but the " serpentine " tread pattern is odd to me. Any info will be appreciated.
1 AnswerMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoWhy does my computers CPU usage go to 100% when I get to a certain page in the Y games process?
When I get to the page where you choose which room to go to the CPU usage goes to 100% and stays there , slowing everything to a crawl. After a while sometimes it drops back to "normal " , but not always. Symantec Antivirus doesn't see anything wrong nor does Spybot. Even now it's running about 75% here at Answers. I can't see anything else suspicious running in Processes.....hmmm except there's 2 iexplorer.exe . one constantly at around 108,000K [varying] and the other around at 16,161 K [constant] . I'm running a 2.53 Celeron processor with a 1/2 gig of RAM. It's recently defragged and cleaned up . Any thoughts or ideas ? thanks.
3 AnswersOther - Hardware1 decade agoHow do you remove old silvering from old mirrors?
I'm trying to reuse an old mirror as a piece of glass but need to get the silvering off. The " paint backing " came off easy enough with a razor blade but the actual silvering is much more stubborn.
3 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoHow do you remove rust from old tools with reverse electroplating[?] ?
I know the term is wrong but ,I've heard there's a way to hook up a battery and an old rusty tool in a solution to remove the crud. I guess it kinda drives the rust off, like electroplating deposits metal onto a surface. Anyone ?
2 AnswersEngineering1 decade agoAnyone know about an old Jaeger muzzle-loading rifle made by Th.W. Witthoft in Frankfurt ,Germany, about 1845?
A friend has this 36 caliber .percussion rifle. It has a fully scrolled half-stock and a fully raised cheek plate. I'm not sure where he got the dates , but it is older. I haven't been able to find the makers name online so I'm asking here. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
