I surf mainly on the east coast and will be visiting Southern California for 14 days. I'll be able to hit a lot of surf spots but would like to spend a solid week at one of the better spots.

I plan to fertilize my huge Aloe Vera garden and have a free organic source for both Cow Manure and Horse Manure but i'm not sure which is best to use for young Aloe Vera plants.

I already know the general answers... coarse, Sandy loam, soil that drains water easily, does not need nutrients, a hardy plant, cactus mix, half potting soil/half coarse sand etc. etc.

What i'm looking for is more detailed information, specifically relating to the PH requirements and any known minerals or nutrients in the soil that will either hurt or increase yield.

I'm not hoping to sell the land just looking for any one who may have some general idea as to how much more the land will be worth once i go through the trouble and expense of 12-18 months of growing the aloe and then building a small barn at the size of a 3 car garage. Will the land triple it's value or even more?

I've been told by a friend that this might e a vehicle to consider for my large family, but i know absolutely nothing about vehicles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
