I want to listen to some Bruckner symphonies but am unfamiliar with his work. Which symphony would you consider his best?

I am junior in high school, and I really like music. I often compulsively conduct music when I hear it. I would like to try my hand at conducting to see if I like it. What are some good books for begginners?

I am currently in 11th grade and play a Holton 177. My teachers says it's an intermediate model that I am outgrowing and suggested a Holton 179. (he also said stay away from Conn) I have played a 179 and didn't feel like it was that much different. I am also interested in a Geyer wrap. What would be the advantages of a Geyer over Kruspe or vice versa? Has anyone played any of the "Merker Matic" line from Holton? especially the 192 Geyer wrap model? I am curious about the dual bore. I am also thinking about European horns. Does anyone know of some European brands worth looking into? (reasonably priced) I've already looked at

I just made and booted from and Ubuntu 7.10 LiveCD (i got the 64 bit one, unless Core 2 Duos aren't true 64 bit processors?) Anyway 4 questions.

1. I attempted embedding a terminal in the desktop

and it counll't load the app or w/e its called. I'm guessing this is just because its a LiveCD?

2. The c++ compiler doesn't seem to exist on it. Is it there once Ubuntu is INTALLED? If not how hard is it to add?

3. On the boot up and shutdown, it put my lcd monitor into standby, and took at least 5 minutes to boot while I couldn't see anything. I don't like it booting in the dark cause I can't see if any errors occur. Is this an issue with the LiveCD or Ubuntu?

4. I am getting into C++ and was wondering if Fedora might be a better option for me? Does anyone with any experience/stories with Ubuntu and Fedora have any recommendations?

If matter and energy can be neither created nor destroyed, just interchanged, where did the universe come from. At some point the matter had to be created right? I am looking to spark a serious debate here. Tell me what you believe and why. Don't say someone else is wrong, or stupid , etc.

I have bought an EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 motherboard. It is compatible with the Core 2 Duo series but I wanted to make sure that an intel e6750 will work with it, I know the e6700 will, but I wanted to make sure that the higher FSB was the only difference.

I am a tenth grade french horn player playing a H177 double horn. I can currently play up to a high C, can anyone give me any tips/advice for playing higher than this? (ie. up to an F) and not the fingerings I know those

Are people who play brass instruments better kissers than those who don't? If so, what instruments tend to be the best kissers?

I'm a horn player and have a concert in late may. Horn players only plz, or at least be familiar with the music if u answer. Should I play the first movement of Danzi's concerto or the 3rd from Haydn's high horn concerto?

I'm smart, have a sense of humor, kind, musically talented ( I play french horn), and I like to arrange/compose music. I'm not fat either. Is it that I prefer to listen to classical music such as Holst and Mahler as opposed to stuff like My Chemical Romance? What is it about me that girls just don't like?
