Unitil recently I have been playing Sims 2 with all the expansion packs without any problems.

When I click the Sims 2 icon, I get the wee pop-up with the play button on it, as normal. Recently clicking the play button doesn't have any effect. The animation doesn't load and game doesn't start loading. I have tried updating my drivers but nothing has helped. I've also tried disabling my anti-virus software and ending background tasks. I know I dont have a problem with the Game disc or my DVD drive because I can play my game on my partner's PC and I can also play different EA games with my PC, just not sims 2. I even tried my partner's copy of the game to no avail.

Has anybody experienced anythig similar or know why this has happened all of a sudden. Anyone know what I can do to fix it? Sims 3 is still too basic to play. :( Any ideas?

Pease Help. I'm a nerd and I'm despeate.

I can't find my disk to reinstall so i really need to know how to fix this problem.

It's my layer pallette. all of a sudden, it seems I don't have full access to all the tools that I used to have on the layer pallette. All i can see is the opacity bar. i can name my layers but I can't see the names once i've done so which makes iot hard to keep track if i have more than 4.

I can't see the 3 little icons which are usually on the left of the opacity bar for masks etc.

If anybody can help i'd be over the moon. Thanks in adance!
