  • merchant accounts - what's a good rate?

I'm currently looking to start accepting credit card transactions for my business sales, and there are PLENTY of options available. I'd rather use either Peachtree's services (which integrate w/ my accounting software, and work with my bank), or... my bank. Peachtree's rates are 2.43% of the sale, + .25 cents per transaction, plus a montly rate of 24.95. (they have lower rates for processing credit cards using a swiper, but I imagine most of my sales will be over the phone or online).

My question is... is this considered a good rate? Average? Poor? I have no frame of reference, so I haven't a clue whether this is a good price or not.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Pushing minimum sys requirements for an application?

Here's the deal... I've got an older PC with a Pentium 3, either 700 or 800 mhz. Upgrading or replacing my computer isn't a reality right now. I NEED to buy an accounting package, and what I want to use is Peachtree complete accounting 2007. However, the minimum system requirements (which are also the recommended sys requirements) call for a PIII or better of 1gz speed.

My RAM meets the minimum requirements. The application features multi-user support, but I'll be using it in a single user environment.

So the question is... do you think it's a safe assumption that the application may run a little slow, but still be useable?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Muslims - how many of you have renounced your faith?

And if so, why? Teachings of violence? Treatment of women?

Not necessarily a formal renouncement - I'm just looking for people that were taught the message of Islam, but don't agree. There are plenty of people raised Christian that question or deny some or all of what they were taught. I'm sure there are some muslims who have done the same.
