  • Is it legal to carry a 10" blade knife in Harriman State Park (NY)?

I'm an avid outdoorsman. I use large knives for camping and wood processing for fires when needed. I'm planning on doing hikes in Harriman State Park, and having a large knife strapped to my pack. I have no intent on using the knife as a weapon unless to fend against an aggressive animal.

Given Harriman State Park is outside NYC knife regulations, which I am fully aware of, is it legal for the other parts of New York State?

  • Identify a Chinese Demon?

I once read a chinese horror story long ago that described a man and his friends staying at a farm to reat while on their travels. They sleep in a barn where the owners daughter just died and the body was placed on a table in there. At night the man hears noises and sees the body arise but it has glowing eyes and LONG NAILS. Long story short, it kills the man's friends by breathing poison on them but the man doesnt die because he holds his breath. When the monster lays back down, he runs out and it chases after him but when it is about to kill the man by driving its long nails into him, he dodges and it gets its long hideous nails stuck in a tree. He runs away to notify the owners and they find the dead body at the tree in the morning. The man goes on his way.

The whole point of the story was to tell about a specific demon that possesses dead bodies IF they are not buried immediately after death. The dead body that harbors the demon has 2 distinct characteristics after being possessed: very long nails and glowing eyes.

Can anyone identify this demon for me? I forgot what the name of it was, but i'll google for more information. Thanks.

  • Identify this alien movie?

Hi. I would just like someone with good movie background to help me identify an alien movie i watched when i was younger. I remember watching it at a babysitter's house and i was so scared. It musta been around 1996-1998 so it's a movie made before then. All i remember is it featured these aliens (i forgot what they looked like) and they had a large hive or sumthing with people in them. I also remember the main guy being dragged by the aliens into a room and onto a table. They put JELLY into his mouth i remember, and he woke up and it was all a dream. Can someone identify the movie?

  • Hard Drive PROBLEM!?

OK my laptop hasn't been working for a few months now for unknown reasons. But the bottom line is: i try to reformat and stuff but it says no hard drive found so it can't reformat. =/ If you're wondering what happens when i boot my laptop, when I turn it on, it doesn't go to the windows screen (where windows XP is loading) it just stays black with a white dashed line blinking int he corner. However, I am able to boot up a linux Live CD (backtrack 2 and knoppix both work) and able to go online and stuff with them. So i dunno is my hard drive broken? or still working in a way? any ideas?

  • Serious Laptop problem?

I have an HP Pavilion dv5220us laptop. Ive been using it for a year and it has been working fine. However yesterday I was looking at some powerpoint slides for my organic chemistry class and the laptop just started screwing up so i restarted it. After that, I couldn't boot up windows XP. It kept showing a blue screen with some letters on it for half a second before rebooting again. So it keeps repeating it without ever going to the desktop. So i put in a recovery CD and was gonna perform a reformat but it just stopped while it was checking a recovery partition (1st process in reformat using recovery CD) and it basically didn't go anywhere. I tried rebooting it again and this time it shows HP invent welcome screen and then it goes to black screen and stays like that forever. I go back to using recovery CD and try to use PC recovery and it says no harddrive FOUND OMG. I go to NetBIOS and try to check harddrive and it says ERROR. Sum1 help!

  • Tough Wireless Network Problem?

I have an HP dv5220 laptop purchased August 2006 which uses an IPW3945 ABG card(intel), which has been working fine until the past 2 weeks. OK before you start bashing me, I've been stealing a neighbor's wireless for a while now, but I ordered internet for myself, which is about to come Sunday . But I still want to assess the problem and figure out why my wireless isn't working. so 2 weeks ago, my wireless went haywire -- it still works but it is verrrrrry slow, i mean as slow as dial-up. At times, it peaks to regular cable modem performance though. I identified it as a linksys WRT54G wireless router (through entering the gateway IP in the web browser). It isn't a problem with the network card because i tried connecting to another router and connection performance was good. So now that i pinpointed it to the router i've always been using, I tried to figure out what it is. I'm not a network specialist so could someone help me? Im switching to Backtrack2 livecd to use wireshark.
