  • Chocolate Brown Sofa with shabby chic?

Hey there, I'm decorating my apartment on a budget, and am in love with two different design schemes. The first being shabby chic and the second being a bright happy type pallet (bright greens, pinks and purples).

I just found a very nice sofa and loveseat set and the price is right, but was actually looking for something different. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-furniture-... (Here is the pic)

Do you think I can work it in somehow? Or should I change my original design ideas?

To make is easier to visualize, the livingroom, and dining room are together (one long room) with the kitchen off to one side. The walls are currently beige, and I have walnut floors. The kitchen has blonde cabinetry and a black with brown and gold flecked countertop.

Any help you can give me is really appreciated!!!

  • Funny License Plates for Motorized Scooter?

    Hey guys,

For Christmas I'm getting my grandmother a personalized license plate for her new motorized scooter chair. The only problem? I don't know what it should say...

She's a feisty lady, and loves taking off on her scooter.

    I was thinking something like

"You don't like my driving - Get off the sidewalk"

    Any other suggestions???

  • What colour to paint my wall?

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to paint my bedroom. We currently have a mix-match of furniture (white, oak veneer, and cream) and a duvet cover that is a blueish gray with stitching in the shape of leaves that is taupe in colour. The sheets match the stitching.

I'd like to have the wall the bed is on really stand out as I don't have a headboard. I was thinking jewel tones (I love purple and my bf has relented to let me paint ONE wall purple).

My current plan is light gray, almost steel coloured for 3 walls, and a deep almost eggplant purple for the wall at the head of the bed. Barring that, all 4 walls the gray and I buy some fabric and make a padded headboard.

    Any suggestions??

  • Use a personal line of credit to pay off visa?

    Just stumbled across something:

" A minimum monthly payment is required and will be determined by CIBC, in its sole discretion, and is subject to change at any time. The minimum monthly payment will be either

    i) 3% of the outstanding balance or $60 (whichever is greater) or

ii) the monthly interest on the outstanding balance."

  • Misssed court date as witness?

Almost 3 years ago I witnessed a dump truck run a red light and hit two vans. Last May I was scheduled to appear in court as a witness but the date was postponed. It was rescheduled for yesterday, and I had lost my summons to appear notice and forgot all about it. What's going to happen to me?

  • Lump that isn't a hotspot?

My family's 2 year old lab has a lump on the side of his face, he scratches at it but it isn't oozing pus, and the vet says that it isn't a hotspot. He went through a round of anti-biotics and the lump is still there. It is about the size of a large grape and he has scratched it until it bled, but again no pus or smell. This morning I woke up and he had vomited through the night. Any ideas as to what it could be? Is there anything I can give him to make him fell better? Could it be a food or environmental allergy? I've been trying to convince my parents to switch him to a holistic diet.

Any help would be excellent, thanks!!

  • Help with my 1st Garden!?!?

    Hello everyone!

Okay so my landlord just told me that I can dig up the lawn and plant a garden! I have been gardening with my parents for years, but fresh out of the nest, this will be the first time that I'm in charge. I plan on growing your basic vegetables, tomatoes, carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, beans, peppers... all of which I'm pretty confident about, so here's my problem:

Pests! I live in a semi forested urban area ( a bit of an oxymoron eh) And my back yard is infested (although I love them) with rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs, raccoons and deer. What can I do to keep them from eating my garden? Is there a simple cure all solution? do I need to build a fence? Any help is great guys, thanks so much!

And for the record I am on the border of zones 5b and 6a.

Oh and if there is any other advice for this first time grower, I would love to hear it... thanks again!!
