I'm an Agnostic, and religion has been an obsession of mine for almost 15 years now. I've read several bibles and attended several sermons. I've been kicked out of five churches and excommunicated from the Catholic faith without ever being a part of it, for asking honest questions. (Sadly, that document was burned beyond recognition.) I've read the Qur'an and the Torah, ancient mythology of the Norse, the Celts, the Druids, the Romans and Greeks. I've studied Tarot and other Divination, Numerology, Demonology, and Magick of several flavors. I know what the rule of three is. I know how to astrally project, and Dreamweave. I have studied Taoism, Buddhism, Shinto and Zoroastrianism. I have read the works of Confucius. I have seen voodoo firsthand, and been blessed by a Priestess. On top of that, I have been dead, twice now. You'll often find me in the R&S section. As if you couldn't figure that out.

  • Car weirdness question?

I have an '04 Chevy Cavalier that normally runs like a champ. A couple days ago, for seemingly no reason, the battery died. So, I jumped it, charged it up, and it seemed to work fine for the next day. Next morning, battery was dead again. So, I charged it, and let it sit for a while. When I tried to turn it on, it made a clicking sound, at the rate of about 2 a second. The gauges would fire, as if it were trying to start, and then the needle on the speedometer would fall all the way to the peg, instead of its standard "zero" position. This happened for every click. When I took the key out, the problem continued. Now, the battery won't charge at all.

Help, Y!A, you're my only hope!

  • Monster question for bible people?

Okay, folks. I'm putting together a compendium of monsters (for a game I plan to publish), and I want to know whether or not you would find my use of Mark 5:9's "My name is Legion: for we are many," offensive.

Barring that, what about, "We are one mind. We are one body. We are no soul. We are Legion..."

Legion will be in the book, I just want to know if using the quote is kosher.

  • People of all faiths, tell me what you think?

I have Associative Agnosia. It is difficult for me to observe minor differences in details without concentrating really hard on them. I cannot, effectively, tell the difference between spoons and forks unless I feel for tines or stare at the thing in my hand for a full 30 seconds. I cannot tell the difference between genders of people, or ethnicities (and people don't usually appreciate me tactiley exploring them, unless they happen to be my wife.) I am not color blind, but my brain has to work really hard to differentiate colors of minimal difference. If it is pointed out to me, sometimes I will notice the color of a person's skin, but my brain does not separate people of different colors from myself. I do not (and cannot) understand racism one iota, and am biologically bound from ever laughing at most Chris Rock/Richard Pryor style racial-epithet-filled jokes.

Okay, the question here is: What do you think of the way my mind works based on the point of view of your faith, or lack?

  • Your opinion on influences?

I have associative agnosia. I cannot tell black people from white people from asians from men from women. I can tell you that a fork is not a person, but I have difficulty telling said fork from spoons, if I don't examine it tactilely. Minute differences like this escape my perception unless examined thoroughly (although, I usually don't examine people tactilely. They usually don't like it.) Obviously, this would have influenced my bisexuality by not being able to tell types of people apart, but do you think that it may have helped mold my Agnosticism? If so, why? If not, why not?

What's going to be the best time to view the meteor shower in SW Michigan? On a further note, what's the general direction we should be looking?

  • Question for all you faithful (and faithless!)?

I have been pronounced dead twice. Once by a firefighter, once by a paramedic. The only sensations that I've had either time was an overwhelming cold, a loud clap like a book shutting really hard in a library and darkness. I begin to pull away from myself, as I were Astral Projecting (which I regularly did during this period in my life) and then I wake up, to the utterly shocked face of my rescuer. Both times, I came to and had no injuries, no signs of what happened to me. The physical damage just...vanished. There was no water in my lungs from drowning, and no burns or scars from becoming a human pyre. Not even a blister.

There was no hand of God involved. There was no heaven. No light in the tunnel. No long lost relatives. No feeling of overwhelming power. No meeting of deities. Nothing.

What do you make of it?

  • Survey on Books?

Okay, here's the deal. I'm an amateur game designer, and I want to know a little something from the community. I'm writing a role-playing game, and it's turning out to be quite large.

How many pages should I keep it down to to keep it in the form of one book, and would you buy more than one book (ala D&D, White Wolf) if I put them out?

  • Role-Playing Game Authoring?

A little background: I'm an amateur game designer writing a game. I've gone extremely in-depth with this beast over the last 8 years, and have incorporated innumerable possibilities (run your own shop in a fun manner!)

Question: How many pages is too many? I don't want to release multiple books (ala D&D, White Wolf), but I can't release a 1,000+ page tome at a reasonable cost!

  • Gaming + Christianity = Incompatible?

Here's the deal. I'm an amateur game designer. I'm a non-religious person. However, I keep getting approached by people about the game I'm making based on the christian religious fundamentals. I've been told probably a few thousand times now that I'm going to burn with the serial killers, thieves and other really bad people for making this game.

This game where you take control of a fake person that you made up and do random stuff (make items, sail ships, trade, fight, entertain audiences, etc.) is just as bad as murder? Nowhere in the 10 Commandments does it state, "Thou Shalt Not Game."

What's up with Christians and Role-Playing? Too much Jack Thompson?

  • WoW disc 1/disc drive issue?

Okay, here's the deal. I have a copy of World of Warcraft, bought yesterday, brand spankin' new. When I attempt to install it, I insert disc 1, and nothing happens. The computer treats it as if the drive is still empty. All of the other discs work fine, they all ask me to insert disc one. Most of my other discs work fine. Can anyone tell me what's going on?
