  • If she were Catholic...?

The woman accused of raping and murdering the little girl in CA has been chardged today. She is a Sunday School teacher at her grandfather's Baptist church. They bury that fact. If she was Catholic however, would that be the first detail about her we hear? Why is it if a Catholic does something to a child it is a Catholic, but if a Protestant does it, it seems the crime is done by a person who happens to be Protestant? hmmmmm......

  • No such thing as a non-Catholic Church.?

Here is a quote by the sucessor to Pope Benedict's former position as a 'defender of the faith' so to speak, Cardinal WIlliam Levada:

On Protestant ecclesial communities: "According to Catholic doctrine, these Communities do not enjoy apostolic succession in the sacrament of Orders, and are, therefore, deprived of a constitutive element of the Church. These ecclesial Communities which, specifically because of the absence of the sacramental priesthood, have not preserved the genuine and integral substance of the Eucharistic Mystery cannot, according to Catholic doctrine, be called 'Churches' in the proper sense"

How do you feel knowing that there is no such thing as a Protestant church? I am very interested, too, in Catholic ideas.

  • Want to hear thoughts on hospital closure?

It appears that if the so called Freedom Of Choice Act (FOCA) is passed then nothing will be able to restrict women from abortions. This includes Catholic Hospitals. The bishops have said that they will not abide. They will stay open and operate, but will never perform abortions. I have also heard it said that the bishops have also said they will just close down the hospitals. With between 30%-40% of the US hospitals being Catholic Hospitals that is not an insignificant number. Wouldn't it then be the most irresponsible piece of legislature ever? Consider what it will do to both the economy and national health care system.

  • Why is this verse ignored by Protestants?

Sola scripture, or the Bible alone, is the ONLY source of teaching for any non-Catholic. These same denominations preach over and over about how faith alone saves. The verse below is from the book of James in the New Testament. How hard is this verse to read? Why do you ignore it?

    James 2:24:

24You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone.
